When I look at Leif, I still see that beautiful innocent blonde boy with the big blue eyes and angelic wide smile. I was about 12 years old in 1979 and I kept seeing Leif in a commercial singing 'I was made for dancin' over and over again. I thought he was the most beautiful boy I'd ever seen. We had just emigrated from Armenia 3 years prior and I had just learned how to speak English well. Every time I saw the commercial, I couldn't look away. He was just so mesmerizing. Finally, I don't even remember who I asked for $7.00 so that I could buy his vinal record. It was the very first record I'd ever purchased and I'll never forget it. I know that he's been through hell and back with his addiction and everything that goes along with that, but if I ever saw him, I would tell him how proud I am of him for remaining the wonderful person that he was born to be. I see him in videos with fans and I see how kind and friendly he is. A genuinely down to earth man. Never regret the things you've done or been through Leif, for if you had not experienced all that you have, you would not be the unique YOU that you've come to be. Those of us that loved him as a child still love him as a man because that love, regardless from afar, was pure and unconditional. When you love someone as a child, you never forget that love because you love with all your heart..
I loved him growing up. He's made many bad choices because of his drug abuse. Last I heard, he was doing better. I pray he battles his addiction. No supervision growing up I would say helped him to choose the wrong path. Thank you my friend.😊 🙏❤️🙏
Sad that Leif Garrett had to get taken the wrong way with his addiction. I was once told that the drug path is a one-way street and ends up in one of three ways: jails, institutions and/ or your demise.
From his early success as a teen heartthrob to his struggles with addiction and legal issues, Garrett's story sheds light on the challenges faced by those thrust into the spotlight at a young age.
I was a young teen when Leif was at the height of his fame. I had a friend that was nuts about him and went to see him in concert. I remember him from an episode of CHIPs where he played a pop idol not unlike himself. He also was in a made for TV movie called Peter Lundy and The Medicine Hat Stallion. For some reason I didn't get into him, but looking back he was so good looking and charismatic I'm glad that I didn't because his downward spiral would have been a huge letdown. Hope he continues to maintain sobriety. 🙏
When I saw a picture of him 6 years ago, I was kind of stunned. I said, How old am I? He was such a cute young guy and I didn't realize how much time went by. I held up very well myself though. 🙏☮️💖
I got to meet him at The Silverton here in Vegas back in 2007, he was so nice, thank you for helping me off the stage , I will never forget that, lol. A gentleman and a great singer, not fake phony, nothing like that.
When you don't or can't love yourself it is a difficult situation. His mother admitted she let him do anything and had no supervision. He could have been so much more.
Absolutely! We feel the same way. Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
I recall his work on WONDER WOMAN & FAMILY!! LAY-ff, LAY-ff, LAY-ff was talented, but troubled!! He reminds me of the former actor named BJORN ANDRESEN!!
God bless you Leif. My heart and prayers are with you. Speaking from someone who has had my share in addictions and have overcome, you can find true freedom if you honestly and humbly seek God. He is the LIFE ABUNDANT you think there is no such thing of..please turn to Christ, stop relying on this world - in letting go and letting God you find your life abundant, purpose and security.
I remember him he was extremely talented I hope he gets the help he needs God is still alive he might have a different personna but that is ok he is still one of Gods children
I'll give him credit--he was kinda funny along with the rest of the ensemble on Tru-TV's World's Dumbest. That was my favorite show back in the late 2000's..
I remember him on an episode of "Family" where he was pressuring Buddy to sleep with him. She finally told him she wasn't ready, and the episode ended with a friendly dance. Garrett's sister is Dawn Lyn, who played Dodi on "My Three Sons." Sad how his life spiraled downward, but hopefully he's turned things around.
One mistake as a young 18 year old with no real adult support and supervision cost him and his friend their lives as it could have been wonderful, instead it became full of pain therapy and guilt. Guilt can destroy you.
I tried coke a few times. I only got a little bit so I wouldn’t overdose. I liked it and I found out I’m in the 2% of people who can do drugs and not get addicted. Or rather pay I can use them socially. I probably would get addicted if I used a lot. I tried acid a few times as well. . I use pot that’s legal in my state, for severe pain. I only tried acid and coke for a very short time when I was a teenager. That was a Long time ago.
