Great video! I always wondered why this map kinda fell out of the CS player consciousness. I guess just multiple errors resulted in the community kinda dismissing it as a failed map. I'd love to see it come back for CS2, but only time will tell if that happens. Also forgive me if this is a bit much, but your fox on the thumbnail is 👀💦

de_vegas was one of those maps in CSS that I remember fondly. Regular big public server shenanigans at it's finest, it was this and another that I don't remember the name of at this time that really stood out there.

Something about that luxor hotel is really creepy, particularly inside the casino.

I like that the recent cs2 Baggage has some interactive fun elements, hope there will be more

Dude holy crap! I remember I used to play on this map back in the day. I used to always wanna get on the mic on that stage because I think it played a voice line or something. I just thought it was cool being up there. I was Half-Life fan so when I saw the ghost I would be like "IT'S GMAN!!" But it also scared me when I would cross the wires, so fuck the mapper for scaring me all those years ago. Still a pretty good map I would say.

Oh, the irony of how much the development of the map projects like the misfortunes of people's gambling.

I really love this map.... sometimes I play this on cs source, US server...they have all these classic maps

DE_VEGAS was and still is one of my favorite map since CS1.5, it's just a cool map and the history behind it contribute to it's cool factor.

Note: The last Counter-Strike had the de_vegas.bsp is CS 1.5

I remember playing on that map CS 1.6 with my older cousin that map was perfect and ghost feature was scary and cool as kid and many other CS 1.6 maps just looking at them good old days would love if valve add old school CS 1.6 maps in CS 2

This is the first ever CS map I've played at my cousin's home when i was like what, 9 years old and the look of it has never left my memory. Wish it was a mainline map that gets more love just for its premise alone like Backalley

I prefer Star Golden Shower Wars. BTW‚ love to see a CS2 port of this map.

Still working on my Vegas remake for CS2. Just need to make props for it.

there were also some csgo custom servers with this map in rotation. I cant quite remember if they were just identical to the source port or unique to go, but still a blast to play regardless.

One thing I don't like about this map is the fact that the sound of the slot machines is too loud. It is bad for gameplay. But otherwise the map is pretty good.

I wonder if something would have happend to the map if it was to be in CS:GO in the aftermath of the Vegas shooting, poor DE_Vegas may not have been able to catch a break even in the good timeline for it

if only valve mappers weren't lazy... there's so much lost maps with potential: vegas, survivor, torn, airstrip, piranesi, sienna, tides, vostok
