It is rare not to lose parents close together. My friend's parents died within 6 months of each other. It is rare they died 8 years apart not close together and the reality is once your parents hit 75, chances are you will lose at least one in the next 10 years. it is rare both make their 90's. sadly, a cancer diagnosis is pretty common too. It seems to me at least 50% get either that diagnosis or heart disease by age 50. At least nowadays our life can be lengthened even with cancer or heart disease because of treatments they have. Most of us will see 80 and a third of us will see 90.

No, chemo side effects, the blood disorder came from chemo, but chemo saved her life.

No, none of this happened recently. Robin's cancer diagnosis was 15 years ago. Her father dead nearly 20 and her mother 12. Her blood disease was over 5 years ago, and Amber's cancer diagnosis has 3 or 4 years ago. Yes, she has faced a lot but haven't we all? My parents are both dead over 25 years. I lost a daughter at birth 40 years ago. I have another daughter with chronic kidney disease. I lost a sister to diabetes complications, and I have a brother with heart disease. My husband has prostate cancer and i have had diabetes 35 years. None of us are immune if we have made it to 60
