His stats matter. He makes some tough shots so it's merited. It's not like he cherry picks his way to 30 points each game. It's also not HIS fault that he has a bad team, he can't control that. That's management
Agreed. Suns fans will tell you next year but now with the up and coming Mavs/ Grizzlies/ Pelicans , I just don’t see it anymore . The suns will be on the outside looking in for at least a couple more years
The Suns have improved this season and have a nice group of veteran players and young players, and Monty Williams has been a solid coach, they are on the rise, Ayton will be a future all star, the Suns need a really good PF though, maybe Kevin Love?
I think they need a 3 and D PF to really help them out. Like a Paul Milsapp or Jeremi Grant. If they were gonna go with a more offensive 4 then I’d pick Gallo over KLove.
Coming from a longtime critical fan, we're on the right track. We've been mediocre for years, but this year we've finally been competitive. Adding Monty Williams and Rubio changed the identity of our team. They aren't huge threats, but we're actually still in the playoff hunt before Allstar weekend.
Joshua Golatt I’m with you on that. I personally believe we need a good 3 and D player at power forward to take us that extra mile, also as much as I like Rubio, replacing him with a better defensive point guard to pick up where Dbook can’t.
@@taytortot7 loyal or blinded by cash? Watch him demand a trade 1 or 2 yrs from now if they aint winning. Both kat and dlo got playoff experiences and booker got none
Tay he’s also not a winning player. On a championship team, he’s damn near a sixth man. He’s a scorer n a good playmaker that’s it. Sounds like a young Jamal Crawford to me
Their front office SOLD their solid 3/4 last summer. Just sold him. Suns need a lot more than one player. First they need a competent front office that doesn't sell off good assets, then they need a coach who can get the most out of the assets they have.
damnnnnn imagine having Steve Nash as your starting PG, and a young Rajon Rondo as your back up. Wouldve been the perfect mentor to Rondo, a pass first Pg to another pass first pg. Deng & Stoudamire wouldve caused problems! damn what couldve been!
Biggest problem with us is how weak the front office is. Every bench Booker has had has been borderline NBA players. Plus the failure to develop Bender/Chriss/JJ. All top picks that were wasted. Could've been solid had they had proper guidance from the start. Even Alex Len went and balled out the first yr he was out of Phoenix.
I got to watch this dude play in highschool against my school years ago and saw coach Cal at the game watching Devin personally... Booker is a cool as dude I meet him at parties and he was so humble about him being a 5 star recruit I actually respected him from that point on. Moss Point is the hood and alot of talented people get caught in the street life in Mississippi, I'm glad his pops made sure he stayed on a straight narrow path
Legionary So why Trae young starting for the east? His team has a horseshit record in the nba 🧐 Makes no sense. That’s why the all star game is now wack because of the new stupid ass rules. I swear Adam Sliver is the worst commissioner of all time 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Bruh if i was dbook i would be happy in his situation, getting paid 33 mil a year to score 27 points for a bad team and go to vacation from april to november. Great job have to admit
Haven’t you heard that most NBA players are depressed sometimes because(being away from family for long periods of time, traveling everyday plane hotel repeat, people judge then on and off the court, social media comments and articles, not making the playoffs=almost every NBA player’s dream is to go to the playoffs and win a championship, etc). Sometimes money doesn’t bring any fulfillment in a person.
There was a quote that LeBron James’ character in game of zones said. Not word for word but “it doesn’t matter if you guys win the lottery and get the next best player, because if you don’t give him the support he needs he will leave.”
@@TrahNO2 I didn't say hes garbage I said hes not that type of player . Hes an elite Scorer but hes not " The MAN ". Hes in the same situation Anthony Davis was in with the Palicans . All star level player but trash team pieces . He needs another All Star that compliments his game
I remember when they had some success early this season. And I told everyone to not take this stretch seriously because bad teams always start off good at the beginning of the season. Well I was right lmao
At least the suns still have a shot at 8th seed. The wolves started the season 3-0 then 10-8 then they lost 26 games of their last 31 games. At least they get D'lo. And might get Booker if he forces hus way out of PHX
Officiously is not pronounced the same way as officially, my friend. Props for great video, it's always entertaining to revisit old topics from present perspective.
As a suns fan it's hard. We always have to rely on booker to score the most points in a game and tbh there's no one else to score as much points as he can.and the sad thing is is that if he ever leaves the suns are done for. We need to make alot of changes and if we don't we aren't going to make any progress. We just need to get a player that can be a great Duo partner with booker. And guess what he might be in the same situation as booker..Has alot of potential but is not being helped out. And another thing is is that when ever the season starts we are always making a good start but then we start losing and losing. So unless we get better... It seems like the down fall of the sun's will happen...
Booker absolutely should have been an all star, probably over Ingram but because of the ridiculous restrictions Booker still should have been an all star over CP3 or Westbrook
Arshdeep Singh a kid who has not done shit vs a former mvp who’s carrying his team because harden had been awful this year lol wake up buddy it’s not even close
youtube profile key word “former”, I’m not disrespecting Westbrook but one good month doesn’t make a season, he was not that good in November or December, he is inefficient, turnovers the ball way too much, is not a good defender anymore, and cannot shoot the 3 whatsoever
We've improved quite a bit this season and we're only like 5 games from the 8th seed so im not ready to give up on the Suns yet. If we do trade for Love or Kennard, plus our pick this year. Suns could be scary next year . Cam Johnson was a great pickup and is definitely the better Cam in the draft, I'd argue even a little better than Culver.
Yeah it's not like that contract is bad either , he's the 30th highest paid player this year. He's getting paid more a slight bit than Anthony Davis. Hassan Whiteside also is being paid the same salary as Davis and he's useless af.
Well he has to get his money he's earned it but I can see Booker possibly requesting a trade if they don't get better soon ayton has potential and so does k obure but that's not enough to win in the west
Should've drafted Luka Donćić two years ago, De'Aaron Foxx the year before that, and Domatas Sabonis nearly four years ago ... he knew what he was getting himself into so no pity
They had Rubio which kinda filled the hole on true PG and Ayton was good but inconsistent. Hopefully the Suns had more pieces to make it great. (Especially SF and/ or PF position)
I don’t really care for Trae but his stats and what he’s doing in Atlanta is far more impressive and deserving than what books done. And Trae is younger
The Suns are WASTING Devin Booker’s career, he has no business being this young carrying the load hes had to since his sophomore season and get almost no help until this year. I hope this team turns it around soon, but is hard when your owner is just a straight up ass. How him and James Dolan still own teams in this league is beyond me.
@@manz7860 haha don't worry man I'm a mavs fan. I lost my hope when the suns up 3-2 and I'm very surprised they play the probably worst game 7 game ever. Maybe luka magic can pull off an upset again against the warriors. Luka badly needs help.
Go to the East, and it'll be great for individuals and the league. I propose Pistons, Hornets, Knicks, or Cavs since they need a focal point or an identity to rebuild with. The Suns can keep Ayton for further development. The East would improve with teams like Hawks and Nets and it will probably increase the overall competitiveness of the NBA.
I think the suns would’ve been a playoff team this year if Ayton didn’t have the 25 game suspension. Still would be a fight to get into the 7th/8th seed. I’m a suns fan and I can say booker is not without blame, but his stats aren’t empty and he shouldn’t get too much blame.
Booker shouldn’t be labeled a bad player if he scored 70 points on the Celtics that became the 1st seed on a efficient rate. James Harden (im not hating on) has good performances but on horrible efficiency yet he isn’t labeled a bad player by all means.
Agreed. Suns fans will tell you next year but now with the up and coming Mavs/ Grizzlies/ Pelicans , I just don’t see it anymore . The suns will be on the outside looking in for at least a couple more years
@@brxndaveli5834 Suns are the youngest team in the nba trying to recover from a shitty gm that tanked for yrs. They looked fine even with holes on the roster still. They were competing with all those other teams you mention, Suns blew out the Mavs last time they played, they're fine going forward
@@artur5308 if you're a Charlotte hornets fan right now, your team didn't exist when Kobe was drafted. The hornets that drafted Kobe are now the new Orleans pelicans
Can't really agree with you. Sure, his teams were not very good to say it politely but to be fair, Devin Booker didn't really do a good job on defense by himself. How many two-way superstars haven't made the playoffs yet? Not all to many of them. All the empty stats guys you mentioned at the beginning of the video have one thing in common - they SUCK on defense!!! Cousins, Love, Towns, Booker,... They should start working on that part of their games before we make some excuses for them not winning.
D Book doesn’t put up empty stats, he doesn’t have help and is still young so he just doesn’t know how to control the pace of the game and when to score and when not to there’s a difference. Guys like James Harden that get mad at a teammate for grabbing a rebound when they could’ve got a triple double are guys that put up empty stats. YOU CAN BE ON A WINNING TEAM AND PUT UP EMPTY NUMBERS that’s why the Rockets consistently get bounced in the playoffs. When you’re looking to score or average a triple double (cough cough Russ cough cough) or just worried about your stats in general those are empty stats . It’s the NBA any of these guys are capable of going for 30 or 40, there’s a reason guys like Steph, Lebron , Kawhi, KD (more so for rebounding and passing) etc the true superstars don’t go out looking to average a triple double or shoot 17 3’s etc etc
Not necessarily a small market but definitely not a good one means free agents are unlikely to sign there, especially since the owners are cheapskates and dont want to pay anyone. He'll end up having to leave if he wants to win
Nothing sad about it at all ..Devin Booker is just a solid dude who put loyalty and his morals over winning. He ain’t willing to what it takes to be apart of the “elites”. Happened to AI, Barkley, etc.
You cant have a true shooting % of 63 on a bad team and have it be empty stats. The fact that Booker is on a bad team and shoots such a high percentage even gives him more credit. Cuz when you are the only good player you are going to draw the best defender as well as double teams. Lamelo ball is empty stats. He is shooting 33% from field & 25% from 3. Those are horrible percentages but when you are allowed to huck up as many as you want those are empty stats. You cant fake what booker is doing. Devin booker is not empty stats.
