ah... no... i think you are misinterpreting it. see when she uses the t95 she starts to pray against her will, her "rational" mind starts to drift, the prayer is "pulled" out of her and her memory of what she does when she uses it is... unclear. as a result, she believes because of the prayers she says and her actions aren't really remembered she considers the jewel a "cursed item" that "erodes her rationality", it's a matter of perspective. she's not really saying it makes her insane, or slowly makes her insane. she thinks the act of praying to being x is an act of insanity as it is. which is why she loathes to use the t95. most of this is actually said in ep 3... and elaborated more in the light novels about the jewel when she needs to use it. she does say flat out that it "erodes her reason" often, but what she's talking about is how when she uses it she prays against her will, and has memory loss of when she uses it.

Another way to put it is that the "blessings" that being x gives forcefully instills more faith in that person. Thing is, being x is trying to get tanya to WILLINGLY give faith. And tanya knows what the "blessed" jewel is doing so tanya only uses it if needed to survive the current encounter. there's literally no willing faith when tanya prays too. But everyone else? they already had some belief in "god" or gained it after a supposed encounter with being x. And they're essentially getting more and more fanatical (and unhinged in some cases) when they keep using said "blessings".

It's like how someone watches so much anime that they put too many feelings and thoughts into it that they're willing to waste time arguing with others who disagree with them on trivial topics, rather than sitting quietly and just watching.

the film is what had me cracking up the most. it was a genius plot and visual device for making the feel of the story match up to the time period and to justify why Tanya would let her battalion act so silly. it also helps demonize the nation and remove our sympathy for them when we find out that the only reason the battalion was successful is the communists purged all of their own mages.

She is not stronger than Tanya. And Tanya didnt rly pray in the fight. That Mary survived that Pistol Barage show how much PLot armour she gets and it a bit anoying for most People.

In the manga, Mary got three different blessings based on her, her mother's, and her father's prayer. One that gives her strong magical power and Mana capacity, One that protects her (swords won't reach her, bullet would dodge her, heals her wounds, etc.), and the other one that I forgot. It might be manga exclusive tho, but it shows how much of a Mary Sue she is.

Fans of the series nicknamed that disturbing guy as "Loliya", a mix of "lolicon" (attraction to little girls), and "yandere" (a crazed attraction to someone to the point of being willing to kill over them). Not only does it somewhat rhyme with his name, it also fits him to a T. He tries HARD to make the still underaged Tanya into his WIFE of all things. And you saw what he did in the movie to already try and get her..... as a start. the guy is beyond disturbing....

Tenya doesn’t. She simply has no choice. One thing to keep in mind is that even though Tenya is reckless, she respects the rules of the system more than anybody. She will only do whatever the law allows her to do.

The Generals were actually capable. They just got drunk from victory. They dont know what by being really strong in war means drawing other powers and allying themselves to stop you.

If you’re genuinely asking this then you missed the whole point of her character 😭
