I think the first scene of the video expounds symbolism. The Pedestrian at the stop light standing with the red cup hanging nearby is symbolic for "Walking with the Lord" when the walk changes. Praise God!!! Dave Ritt
Just got home from Moncton concert, incredible!!!! That power is something you don't want to leave behind even to go to sleep for a while ... not just yet ...
I love it! Although, I was just a kid when Paul was really breaking into the Christian music world, I've grown up on this man's inspiring music! Thank you, Paul. For bringing me into countless worshipful moments with my Savior! And for those asking for chords!... You can play this song with the chords, "Bmajor, F#major, G#minor, Emajor." Cheers!
This song reminds me of Ephesians 1:1-14 in that God has a plan for every single one of us to to come to know Him. According to His word, He is calling. We must seek, listen and respond.
I heard this once then and it took me ages to find it again. I want to listen to it time and again and the video with the red cups is wonderful. Thank you Paul for using your gifts to spread the gospel. x
AMEN, maybe God is just waiting for someone to grab the cup and once that person does, He pulls up and there will be a tighter string. And if we'll hold on, He might as well pull us along with cup back to Him =). God bless you brother
i just got home today from retreat in our church and this song was sung there even before actually but today it just had this huge impact on my life and i ow understand God's love for me, for us. that he is an eternal God and He will always love us no matter what and even at our darkest.
Yes amen ! Love this song and the first time I heard it was at a retreat. Loved it so much Praises to our Great God and Savior for His unfailing everlasting love for us.
Yea Gods love never change, it will always be....... the only thing is that sometimes we change and we comitt mistake whether intenional or unintentional,..... ifwe dont repent, thats what gives us the feeling that God loves us lesser or if not, not at all....... we cannot feel Gods love unless we ask God his forgiveness everytime...... sometime we commit mistakes unnkowingly........
Well, yeah, the people who disliked this song are the ones who walked by the red cups and didn't even acknowledge them. Which was everybody in the video except the young woman at the end who throughout the video kept getting pulled closer and closer to God. Her curiosity was increasingly piqued, and she finally submitted. That's the way it works sometimes, a gradual process, rather than a Damascus Road experience.
Amen! Joh 10:3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. John 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
One of the best videos on RU-vid. But a pretty sobering picture. Most of the people were completely oblivious to hearing God's voice. But, it's encouraging that in the end that one girl got tugged on and tugged on and finally listened. First time, passive glance. Second time, longer glance. Finally, listened. The angels rejoice when that happens. Even if it's just one girl, that's a victory. It's a common pattern these days, and we need to nurture it. Thank you, Paul.
It's cool how that one girl appeared three times. The first time she gave the cup a passing glance but never stopped walking. The second time she stopped and turned around and looked, and then moved on. At the end she finally picked up the cup and listened. That's how it goes with most people; we don't have dramatic transformations like Paul had on the road to Damascus. Often it's a continual tugging at our heart until we finally submit.
Sonically this is one of the best worship songs I have ever heard, and I've heard a lot of them. Even better are the lyrics. Don't let yourself get caught up too much in the great music and miss the lyrics. It's interesting that in the video most people don't even see the red cups at all, and the ones that do just give them a passing glance, until the very end. That's sort of a sad (but true) commentary on the heart of the world. But we won't give up on the Great Commission.
I listen to this song everyday. Good Morning to all of you out there who are broken hearted. The same love of God will save us from all of the trials and tribulations. Dont Spoil the day by just thinking the problems of your life, instead Praise God Jesus Christ.
Point well taken. Sometimes I try to impose my interpretation on others. There are always alternate interpretations, and if another interpretation brings someone peace, even if it's probably not what the author intended, well, so be it. The end result is the same, someone was uplifted.
I love the idea of the red cup that is used to play beer pong is now going to be know as "God Calling" Spread the word !!! Sing the Song !!! Hang the cup !! Thank you God !!
You chose the humble and raised them high You chose the weak and made them strong You heal our brokenness inside and give us life CHORUS The same love that set the captives free The same love that opened eyes to see Is calling us all by name, You are calling us all by name The same God that spread the heavens wide The same God that was crucified Is calling us all by name, You are calling us all by name VERSE 2 You take the faithless one aside And speak the words “You are mine” You call the cynic and the proud, “Come to Me now” CHORUS The same love that set the captives free The same love that opened eyes to see Is calling us all by name, You are calling us all by name The same God that spread the heavens wide The same God that was crucified Is calling us all by name, You are calling us all by name Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh BRIDGE You’re calling, You’re calling You’re calling us to the cross (Repeat) CHORUS The same love that set the captives free The same love that opened eyes to see Is calling us all by name, You are calling us all by name The same God that spread the heavens wide The same God that was crucified Is calling us all by name, You are calling us all by name Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh Chorus x2 We raise our white flag We surrender all to You, all for You We raise our white flag: the war is over Love has come, Your love has won
Amen - All glory to God Who saved us with the same love Jesus gave on the Cross, the same love we received and the same love we are sharing to a lost world. Thank you for this very inspiring song God bless you more with wisdom and power in the music ministry
Like the concept Paul! and the lyrics and tunes are simple but designed to minister people in great way!! Praise God man for you are an asset to today's Christendom.
Yesterday I wanted to take my life, I'm so canzado it, canzado the contempt of many people, this world is full of lies and arrogance unfaithfulness, but not know how I got to this page from youtube, and your song my friend, God spoke and gave me strength to go on. the same love, always will be ... and God calls me by name. Now I consider this to be one of many awesome songs. What I cannot understand is why someone would dislike it. Is it the message or something else? Well guess it doesn't really matter, you are still loved anyway whether you like the song or not, the artist or not. God Bless.
Amen bro. This is an easy top 3 for me. He knows the very minute of your death. He knows how many hairs and on your head. He loves you so much. All you have to do is answer....
A french lady asked me to translate it one month ago - great song!! Thanks so much for posting it!! Paul has got an oustanding gift coming from our Lord Jesus-Christ - greetings from France!!!
Excellent conference in Fullerton, thoroughly enjoyed it. Sorry to hear about Carl's dad, but glad he "graduated to heaven" as Carl put it. Keep up the good work!
