Totally agree. Always been the Spurs way to draft and develop, just like Tony Parker. Size and frame in todays game should be no issue anymore look at Trae Young
I disagree. The one place where the Spurs need a veteran is at the point guard position. This is considered the hardest position to learn in the NBA and the Spurs do not have enough pieces around the point guard position to bring someone in to learn the position. This team needs to start winning no later than next season. Maybe not playoff material, but at least playing 500 ball.
Then why not get both. A veteran point guard is still gonna be needed to mentor him. Plus if it works out, you have a guard centre duo for the next decade
@@tonymenino279 The main reason is that this teams has needs beyond point guard. They need a backup center , wing that can score, and perhaps a second unit good enough not to give away leads or dig holes when the first team is not on the court. I think much of this can be achieved thru the draft, but the Spurs play so far this season highlights the need for a really good point guard and some veterans to help these young guys understand how to win in the NBA.
Everyone saying to target a veteran pg are wrong. Spurs are young and don’t have anyyyy depth. If they target rob they have a eliteeee PNR combo to build around offensively. Wemby to build around on defense. They would have the time and the resources cause they wouldn’t have to give up picks and could build an actual franchise longterm!!!!
Good video. As a spurs fan I feel the same. Him or Cody Williams to me is the pick. If that raptors pick work in our favor. I hope we can get both. Good video. Nash, Brunson, Chris Paul, Ai, plenty of small guards who have had great careers.
He looks like a great scorer but to be a point guard I need him to pass a little more. No doubt he has skills but we need a team player with Victor as the center piece.
I see what you are saying but I also think that the three and a half assists are a bit deceptive and also he is a very high level off ball player which would pair well with victor. On top of that I’m sure that Pop can help him grow as a playmaker.
if this is the most urgent position for the Spurs to fill, I'd say it might be better to spend some of the war chest on an experienced PG rather than risk drafting a kid to develop, and use the draft opportunity to try and get your hands on a second big guy. This year's most interesting prospects are not PGs. Good vid, bro. Keep up the good work. (just lower the background music, you got a good voice, let us hear it)
