The first time I had seen the Bush Man was in 1993. He scared me a couple of times, but the best part was watching all the people stopping on both sides of the street to watch the next person he scared. We love going to SF with friends that have never seen the Bush Man, enjoy watching their reaction. This videos was made in 2008 and I am just wondering if he is still working to present date of 2013?
peter i want to thank you so much for making this film. ive known the guy ever since i was a kid by his first fright while i was with my camp. ever since, whenever i visit fishermans wharf i always hope to see him there. this was beautiful, thanks peter
Seriously. If this man dies, I think there should be a news report on him, and that the mayor and the city should do a memorial service of him, and then put in something like a plaque on the very spot he does his work him,. He has entertained thousands of passerbyers for many years, and he is remembered today.
I have witnessed him with his routine, and then a couple of days later, I was on the receiving end. He is a great guy who is trying to make a living. At least he is not mugging people to get by.
I like this bushman more than the other one. The other guy says things to people which at times are not so cool. I like this guy though. Makes me smile and laugh.
If you're interested in the full history of the bushmen of San Francisco, David and Greg, I've got a video on my channel explaining everything about the bushmen🪴😊
Are you sure it's "David Johnson" the original Bushman? You might be referring to the copy cat Bushman, who is more loud and obnoxious. David does it very low key, but is just as effective. The other guy yells too much.
from what i hear the merchants actually like him since he brings a lot of foot traffic and most police think he is funny, but they have to do their job when someone he scares can't take a joke. anybody remember when a tourist was trying to sue him a couple of years ago?
@ShadyRonin I actually dont think It has anything at all to do with racism its mostly tourists that call the police, they just dont get it, and its also people with a crappy sense of humor!
They should leave him alone. They meaning merchants and police. He's not harming anyone. Laughter is the best medicine. Some people just don't have a sense of humor. Pooey on the cops for beating him up!
I dont get it, why the hell would the cops arrest a homeless man for trying to make some money, by scaring people, it's not like he is a criminal, he is hilarious
Wow, I can't believe someone would arrest him. He seems like a nice guy, and he makes people laugh. He should at least be given an apartment or something.
