He was challenged to a duel by a very good duelist, AJ got to pick the distance to be fired at.............. He chose the distance of a handkerchief, the guy backed out of the duel.
You're right he didn't mention it because the Secret Service was established in 1865 at the death of Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Jackson was president from 1829 to 1837
@@anaklngameplayer2549 I may be thinking of the wrong person, and either way secret service (at least now a days) has been boiled down to the people in suits who protect the pres even though they do much more than that
@@benjaminkonikoff2026 yeah i understand what you mean but in all honesty it was buck wild back in the day. Maybe because guns were bigger and harder to conceal and people really didn't think someone was going to go out of their way to try to murder a president with a gigantic smooth bore musket. Like Andrew Jackson was from the day before revolvers werent even invented so if somebody took a shot and miss he could just run away or fight him. It was only after the McKinley assassination that the Secret service was used to protect the president in 1900s. And before that no one protected the president I mean Thomas Jefferson walked to his inauguration unguarded just talking to the common people
He had his faults but no different than the people of those times. He also adopted an Indian son. He made sure to fight off the centralized banking system’s thus keeping the people of the United States in control of our Treasury and made sure we remained free from their corrupting and destructive influence. Unfortunately Woodrow Wilson sold us out and now we have a private corporation determining every aspect of our nation’s finances.

@@ledflaplin2001 yeah because the government killed most of them, then locked the rest away on someone the worst land in the country. Many of the reservations don’t have clean water.
@@justsomedude77 Or even basic utilities like toilets and sewer systems. The US GOV fucking hates 'indians' and wants its people to feel the same (Like the comment above yours)
@@Eliqueme No one is stopping them from leaving the reservation and living in a regular area like everyone else. They just want the free hand Outs still.
@zepfan Man That's part of assimilation, Have you thought that we want to be able to have jobs where are people have grown up, That we don't have ties to those small pieces of land we still inhibit? That the small things we still have mean a lot to us? Yes we berate reservations and rightfully so as first nations people, But if we move than we lose that land to the government, places that a mere hundred years ago were barren and empty are now homes and alloted plots of land for future development for services ran by the tribal government. We can and have worked 'Regular jobs and led regular lives' such as people who only know this land they stand upon as the ground, Dirt, ''america". We don't want to have to travel 50 miles to shop at a Walmart/ Safeway, We don't want to have underfunded programs such as healthcare/ Health system (Clinic's No hospitals), Or Generational trauma/ abuse. I can understand that my elders only know the life they were given by their parents and what they had to do to survive in the only land that actually accepted them, Only these last two generations have we not been subjected to inequalities and injustices such as the ones before us faced, They want us to continue and support our fading way of life as assimilation has effected us the last +200 years and still continues today. The government wants us off those lands as well, They want whatever they can get then dump us, All they need is not enough people to live on the reservation, Not enough tribes people, Losing federal recognition. Then we lose everything, The land, The homes, Facets of our culture (Cannot fish, Hunt forage on those alloted lands anymore). We shouldn't want so many things to feel equal, But from the standpoint of someone who's entire life has been intertwined with the US GOV. I cannot give people a false narrative of why we do and don't do things. I hope you can understand where I'm coming from, I'm speaking from a place of acknowledgment and history in which I tell you these things. Much love G ❤️
@Damon Wright No it isn't. Forced relocation of the Cherokee people is not forgettable. How many died from that? Ask someone who is Cherokee if they forgot.
@@henryrapoport8608 Um, the ones Andrew Jackson sent packing are long gone. Their people are still alive, but they’re so far removed from that land that they had no idea what living there was like.
Old Hickory bore the scar of a British sword on his cheek from being a message runner as a boy during the revolutionary War. He nearly wiped out the creek tribe in one campaign and took more territory for the US. He removed US gold from banksters and secured it with troops. He was.hip to the federal reserve game early on. Great leader.
@@MrBubz-pq3ck So because he was a civil rights leader his crimes are forgivable? but Andrew jackson who was a war hero and fought for our independence doesnt get that same benefit? Thats my point.
