I remember the first time I heard her speaking voice. I was in shock because it was so pure and clean and nothing like the gritty voice I knew from her songs. She's a great technician - but of cause you can hear that her voice have aged so please check out some of their old songs from around 1967.
Had the honour of seeing her perform live yesterday! I am still reeling from how much sound and emotion she can produce. Thank you for a great reaction, I hope you look into more of her stuff!
Some of the women featured in the video are Frida Khalo, Mother Theresa, Aung San Suu Kyi, Angela Davis, Maya Angelou, Nina Simone. Annisette's daughter, Naja Rosa, sings back-up and co-writes a lot of the songs these days. Savage Rose have never fitted into a certain musical category. Some people thought they should be Psychedelic while others thought they belonged in the Prog Rock category. For me they were always uniqly the Savage Rose with the most charismatic singer. Annisette recently recorded an album with DR's Big Band and definitely worth for you guys to review a few of the cover versions i.e. It's a Man's World, (James Brown) and Masters of War (Bob Dylan). Otherwise I can highly recommend the title song from their latest album 'Homeless' as well as Romano's song from the same album. Or how about 'For Your Love' or 'Vanished' the list goes on and on and on..... Looking forward to many more of your reaction videos :)
