The Savage Sword of CONAN Omnibus from TITAN COMICS 

Thanks for TITAN Comics to show so much respect for the collectors of the previous Marvel Omnis. Great. I have ordered the remaining ones yet to be published (SWC 9/SWC 10/King Conan 2),

Titan, Jim Zub, and Robert De La Torre are absolutely KILLING it on the Conan the Barbarian and Savage Sword of Conan runs! Every day that one comes out is a holiday for me. So excited for these!

Pumped that they actually kept it the same. I’ve got every Conan omni and been waiting on them to continue Savage Sword with Volume 9.

I haven't read every comment, so I'm not sure if anyone posted this, but Titan hired the guy that designed the Marvel omnis just so they'd match as closely as possible. I appreciate that.

Titan is doing an incredible job with Conan. The main artist Robert De La Torre is like a reincarnated John Buscema… if you like Michael Moorcock’s Elric they have also done an amazing adaptation of those books.

They better reprint the colossal dark horse editions because those are the only oop volumes I'm missing 😅

I think one of the reasons Conan is still so popular is that it hasnt fallen prey to wokeness and has stayed true to its form of story telling

This is too awesome. Can't wait to rebuy each Conan Omni Volume for which I'm sure Titan will drop one each week throughout the rest of the year and even into 2025.

Im so grateful that the humab creativity that went into making these in previous eras are still recognised/appreciated. These people worked on this so long ago. And still their work of love is wanted

Broooo! I got 13 of the Marvel books but I have gaps and the prices have been rough!! After seeing your review, I'm super cool with having these Titan Comics spines in the mix on the shelves, looks like they are nailing it!

The Colossal King Conan and Colossal Conan The Cimmerian Omnibus are two that have not been in print for over 5 years! The artwork is superbly done and in colour. The stories within these are considered the best in my opinion of any Conan collection. If you have not looked at these then you are missing something truly amazing.

I asked Roy Thomas what his favorite character to write and he said The thing and savage sword of Conan.

Savage Sword Of Conan was my favorite comic of that size/format in the early 1990s. I remember at the same time buying Punisher (I forget which specific title it was) in that larger magazine size, and black and white. The art in the Conan magazines was just really good, and I appreciated the black and white- it made it easier for me to copy (I used it as inspiration for drawing). This looks like something I’d really enjoy - thanks!

This is amazing, I never bought these when Marvel was putting them out, so I'll be getting all of the Conan omnis Titan Comics releases. BTW, you gotta watch Conan the Barbarian from the early '80s, is such a classic.

Man this is great, I never was a Conan fan either but the new Titan ongoing got my attention, and a second chance at some of those Omnis is great Also stop showing off that Godzilla Omni, I'm already jealous 🤣

I have vol 1 and 2 from Marvel and not even a Conan reader. I wish they were in color. I guess i got them because i know theres a huge market for die hard fans out there.

The original story and artwork, and print format is really amazing for the Savage Sword of Conan omnibus volumes (at least for volume 1 to 8 under Marvel). I already have the volumes 1 to 8 of the Savage Sword of Conan (SSOC) the original Marvel Years. I'm glad Titan is continuing this. I hope I get the same quality like the Marvel omnibus volumes. I pre-ordered Savage Sword of Conan vol. 9 by Titan it has 1,072 pages. I plan to also pre-order the volume 10. But I looked at the pages, it's only 516 pages. Why drop the pages down to half and the price didn't dropped much. I had all the volumes 1 to 8, the pages were at least almost 800 pages and more ( Vol 1 - 1040 pages, Vol 2 - 856 pages, Vol 3 - 944 pages, Vol 4 - 976 pages, Vol 5 - 768 pages, Vol 6 - 1016 pages, Vol 7 - 936 pages, Vol 8 - 1056 pages, Vol 9 - 1072 pages, Vol 10 - 516 pages). Lowest page count was on volume 5, 768 pages. For the upcoming volume 10, why is it only 516 pages? Is it mini version of the regular omnibus series? I hope Titan is more consistent with the pages numbers to be roughly around the same in the 900s and 1000s pages, it's feels like they are short changing or downsizing on volume 10. I hope it's not a trend with lower page number or lower comic issues per omnibus volume. Please Titan, keep volumes pages consistent to 900 to 1000 pages or about 15 to 18 issues per volume. It will be more appeal to see a collection of thick hardcover bound omnibus volumes. And it's a little sad or miserable to see one or a few thin volumes in between like they are neglected didn't get the same love and attention as the full volume ones. I hope you know what I mean.

Great video. These volumes have taken a while to come out. I wish they had started with volumes that Marvel didn’t get around to producing before they lost the license. My preference is for Savage Sword. With no comics code Conan is feee to be fully savage and I I’ve the Alfredo Alcala dark inking - it gives added mystery and atmosphere. When I was a boy Marvel black and whites were a real revelation. Truly adult comics with beautiful painted covers.

I've been waiting for these Omnis to come for almost 2 years now! I have the Marvel Conan the Barbarian Omnis Vol 2 thru 10, I don't have Vol. 1 and I'm getting that. But I have NONE of the Savage Sword of Conan Omnis and I want ALL of those. And the reason these look so good and so much like the Marvel Conan Omnis is because Titan hired the same guys that designed the Marvel Conan Omnis to design these Titan Conan Omnis.

That looks great. I’ve been curious to see how the Titan omnis look and are built. I have dozens of hard covers from Titan, but none of them are omnis. If Titan has the same high level of quality control for these omnis that they maintain for their other hard covers, then these should be great.

I would highly highly recommend reading the original short stories and novel by Robert E. Howard. They're so fucking good. I mean if you go in for that type of stuff. And if you like that then read the Roy Thomas CtB series. Or vice versa.

I had a ton of the Savage Sword of Conan comics....I loved the art of Ernie Chan & Joe Jusko. I might have to see if my go to store is getting them in

Pre-ordered and paid for Omnis of Conan the Barbarian 1,2,9 and Savage Sword 1,2 a long time ago. They have delayed them several times to the point where I'm not willing to PO anymore until they fulfill at least a couple of them. I'm only missing 3,4 of both and 10 up of Savage, so they really have me over a barrel with the fact that I'm so close to completing the runs. The last delay actually was announced on the release date so I'm not holding my breath we'll see them start showing up in just a few days here. Answering your question, looking at them, the originals have 1 page color art in the front, at least volumes 5 up do. So no double page art like you showed.

Long time Conan fan here. I read every Conan comic and book back in the 90s. Unfortunately all those books have been lost to the ages. I’m hoping Titan keeps their current trend with putting these collections on Kindle for digital copies. That’s my preferred method of reading these days. I’m having a blast with this resurgence of Conan and Sword & Sorcery in 2024.

I will definitely buy all of the Conan Omnibus books from Titan. I would have preferred all of Conan's stories to be released in paperback similar to Marvels Epic Collection line, but these hardcover Omnibus books will be fine for me.

Awesome they kept the aesthetic/design the same. I don’t own any of the old Conan stuff, but the new Conan Comic from Heroic/Titan got me into reading the character. I’ve got the first few Omnis pre-ordered, and I’m ultra stoked for them after seeing this. Awesome vid.

super excited to see these come out. hoping they'll announce a more comprehensive omni line covering the dark horse years or even a volume 11 of "the original comics" collecting the conan stuff from 2019 on.

Huge surprise.... It looks like checking my CGN orders today... Titan has pushed back the release dates on many of their Conan books yet again. Sure it's by a month or two (Dec)... but you can't f'n wait until launch day is upon you to keep pushing these back, and back and back.... At this point I'm going to refuse to PO anything else from Titan Comics until the can fulfill a couple of my current orders.

I have an old volume of the black and white collections that Dark Horse did. That was some hella good reading.

I don't need this myself (I already paid through the nose for an out-of-print copy of Marvel's printing) but I'm glad they released it. And it's very encouraging to see how close it looks to the originals. I can't wait for them to release Volume 9, as it feels like I've been waiting years for that one...

Cool overview. I bought all these omnis from Marvel, but can't get into Savage Sword. I DO enjoy the "Conan the Barbarian" omnis. I'm a 90s kid so my only exposure to Conan was the Conan the Adventurer cartoon (best macho baritone cartoon intro of the 90s).

I would like to hear your input on today’s Conan, Gem. Go review the Zub trades for issues 1-12. If you still don’t like Conan after that then at least you’ll know you’re mentally ill !! Lol would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I need the first 3 Savage Swords 'cause to date I have 4-8. I have Vol 1 and 2 on pre order and Savage Sword Vol 9 hits shelves in 3 months. Same with Conan the Barbarian. I have 4-10 and I pre-ordered Vol 1 and 2. Can't wait to put those on the shelves next to my Conan collection.

Nice book, great company I've been aware of titan since the early 80s when they were publishing 2000ad trade's and they always do their best to produce an excellent product. I've been collecting the floppy 's over the last year or so,so I won't be picking this one up. I am interested to see how they handle Conan the barbarian,I'm wondering if they will recolour it.

I think you might like the art more once John Buscema takes over Conan the Barbarian and the first Conan movie with Schwarzenegger is worth watching especially for the music.

Was hoping for matte paper and larger size. Savage sword was a larger magazine.

I ordered the Omnibus and it looks great. I'm very much looking forward to it and I thank Titan Comics for obvious love they've poured into all their Conan titles. Now they just need to actually ship it. I ordered mine over a year and a half ago.

I love fantasy but never got into the Conan comics. Maybe it was because the stories seemed to simple. But that artwork is awesome and considering to buy this and the other Conan omnibus from Titan Comics, just for the art. o_O xD
