Here are my thoughts on each entry: 01. Resident Evil: The dogs jumping through the window is regarded as a classic scare, so I'll go with it. 02. Resident Evil 2: The loading screen zombies do get the job done for sure, but I gotta go with the licker breaking through the window. It makes me jump everytime! 03. Resident Evil 3 Nemesis: Personally, as relentless as Nemesis is, if you're going to pick only one moment from the game then I'm going with the elevator scare with Carlos in the hospital. I did not expect that many zombies! 04. Resident Evil Code Veronica: For Code Veronica I'm going with the screams of Nosferatu! 05. Resident Evil REmake: Crimson Heads or Lisa, definitely! 06. Resident Evil 0: Yeah, your first encounters with the Leeches. Molotov cocktails are your friend! 07. Resident Evil 4:Surviving the villagers in the cabin, mutated Mendez, Verdugo, Regenerators, U-3...take your pick. 08. Resident Evil 5: I gotta disagree with the pick here. Irving wasn't remotely scary. Probably the closest the game gets to actually being scary at all is your first encounter with Uroboros, or maybe when all the lickers are let loose in the lab. 09. Resident Evil Revelations: Apparently they forgot that the Revelations game are every bit a mainline entry as Code Veronica. 10. Resident Evil 6: Again, like with RE5, the game just isn't that frightening. Iluzija is a good choice. Mutated Carla also would've worked. 11. Resident Evil Revelations 2: See number 09. 12. Resident Evil 7: RE7 is pretty terrifying throughout, but Marguerite has gotta take the cake. 13. Resident Evil 2 REmake: Mr. X, obviously. Moving on... 14. Resident Evil 3 REmake: I'm gonna say the hospital with Carlos and them Hunters! You know, before the big shootout waves of enemies part. 15. Resident Evil VILLage: The fetus monster, hands down! That segment had me genuinely panicking! That whole sequence in House Beneviento, may well be the scariest moment in the entire franchise!

Well, for RE5 I believe the first encounter with the Reaper is the scariest moment (even more when you add the fact that monster is instakill). Nemesis breaking the window in the rpd doesn't make sense considering the window isn't broken in RE2. Leon and claire arrive at the rpd roughly sometime after jill gets on the tram car towards the clock tower since that is essentially a no turning back point in the game. The teeth, the lunging forward, design, and the music, just gah! 5 - Avoiding Wesker and Jill, especially Wesker. 6 - I honestly don't remember. Something in the Leon campaign probably. 7 - Yup, Marguerite boss fight. 2REmake - EVERY Mr. X encounter. The heavy footsteps and music...shudders. 3REmake - Early on, navigating through the small area to restore power while bug creatures that vomited into Jill's mouth lurked. 8 - Didn't play through completion. Honorable mentions: Rev - Invisible Hunters. Rev 2 - Invisible flying bugs when playing as Barry.

RE8 takes this one by a country mile. Reasons why I couldn't play RE2 & RE3 remakes: Big guy chasing me around.

The thing about the dogs in the first RE, is literally every video game magazine spoiled the surprise by writing about how they pissed their pants when the dogs jumped through the windows. Because of that, I was expecting it and I'd say most people who read gaming magazines back then must have been the same. What terrified me most was the introduction of the Hunter, as it ran down my recent path from first-person perspective and opened the door I'd opened just seconds before. Then the bastard decapitated me, and I had to take a break from playing for a solid couple days because it was all so mortifying.

RE7’s scariest moment for me was Jack busting through the wall without me knowing. Or just going into the basement with one white light over the door, knowing I had nothing on me and the rooms were filled with the Molded, it’s absolutely terrifying. I beat it today after quitting in highschool for being so scared. So damn scary lmao

The chainsaw executioner in the village in re4 was scary the first time, especially if you didn't know where the shotgun was or that the various monsters in the game each have a particular weakness, with the chainsaw executioner being especially weak to handgun ammo

In the First game, I liked the idea of an unkillable "Bomb" zombie that followed or hunted you through the mansion, but I was alittle bummed to learn it's spawn system isn't as impressive as that.
