People crying about "loyalty" need to get with the times. That's vile Old world thinking and it doomed Renault. The idea that one of the most hyped up young talents was going to sit on the sidelines like a dog waiting for his master to beckon him should be looked at as the utter incompetence that it is. Employees owe employers nothing more then is written in the contract, Alpine chose Ocon and Alonso. So the young lad looked elsewhere, the fact that Alonso didn't want them isn't Piastri's problem.
Yeah what a stupid argument, it's like waiting for a girl who doesn't like you to finally agree to start dating you when there's a nicer, hotter girl that's totally into you. You just going to sit and wait for an indefinite amount? Or are you going to find that person who'll give your virgin butt a chance.
"nobody is verstappen" No, I'm pretty sure Verstappen is Verstappen. "nobody is lando". No, I'm pretty sure Lando is Lando. "nobody is alonso". No, I'm pretty sure Alonso is Alonso. "nobody is leclerce". No, I'm pretty sure Leclerc is Leclerc. "nobody is hamilton". No, I'm pretty sure Hamilton is Hamilton.
"Stain on his career"? You have to be joking! So Oscar was supposed to forget his ambitions to be an F1 driver? This kid had already signalled his potential to be the next big thing in case YOU hadn't noticed. What actually is YOUR "scary truth that nobody is noticing"? That he is already near matching his excellent teammate at McLaren? Seems not, I'm all guns blazing for this young man who has exhibited great skills and manners, on and off track and people like you need to get off his back now he has shown his ability to fight with top flight drivers! Go Oscar!
Completely agree. As a Brit I'm a McLaren fan and I think Lando & Oscar are the best driver lineup in F1. Oscar did what any ambitious and sensible person would do and I hope he goes on to win many races with McLaren. With MW as his manager he'll be well represented too.
@@coloaten6682well I think McLaren has the third most stacked roster. Max and Checo is a strong duo, and Charles and Carlos is also very very strong. But I wouldn’t doubt it if Oscar and Lando prove themselves to be number 2 or even the best lineup
Charles and Oliver Bearman would be a force to contend with. Sadly Oliver is probably going the way of Liam lawson - into the waiting queue and vanishing - F1 needs to get some of the old brigade out. I speak not as a young person but 65+. Teams must make way for the young. Oliver, Liam (and Oscar) need to be nurtured. P.S. Has McLaren ever been challenged about the lack of upgrades to Oscar'a car whilst Landos was upgraded at least twice? Cannot be money. @@Patcherr77
Alpine only wanted him because Alonso left them for AM, can't blame him for that as when he started the negotiations he was facing his second year on the sidelines
He made the right move. Loyalty only goes so far. How loyal is an F1 team towards its drivers the moment they dont perform? They get replaced with a snap of the finger. Piastri did good. Looking out for himself and signing a contract with a better team. F1 is big boy business.
4:42 "Russel, Norris and Stroll among the recent drivers that came out of F2". Stroll is the only one besides Verstappen, of the current generation, that skipped F2 before F1. Good job naming him, as one of those that came out of F2. F1 on youtube is such a clown show
Alpine TOLD Piastri that he would be sidelined for 2023 (for a THIRD year) in favour of Alonso and NO trust was broken by Piastri as Alpine failed to renew his contract. I believe the timing of Alonso's move was in a small way, to help Piastri leave the holding pattern an join the grid with a team that WANTS him. Piastri defended his Mclaren move successfully and Otmar got fired. It's VERY clear to the entire paddock that Piastri was justified in his move.
i wouldnt be surprised if oscar's move to mclaren was motivated by fernando's move to aston. also something tells me he had some ties with fernando. probably since his karting years.
God no it won’t, I raced with Oscar I. Karts and he’s just got.. it, he’ll be a serious one to watch, love that he got there and hope he takes on the world, all the best to Oscar!!
As a Brit myself, I think Piastri is faster than Norris and should be made no 1 driver, Piastri is the real deal... the real young guns are Piastri, Russell, and Le Clerc, as Max has reached the top already so no point in including him..... oh I nearly forgot that young driver that drives for Aston Martin... you might not have heard of him, I think his name is Fernando or something, definitely one for the future lol....
The aggressive passing moves this lad has in his back pocket are breathtaking. Can’t not think of the crazy move he pulled on cold tyres at a safety car restart at Vegas. His car control is bonkers, shades of Lewis in his heyday. The way he can drive around the outside on a rail without hitting anyone or breaking track limits. It’s something he has over Lando. But he’s been really unlucky a lot of times. I hope he doesn’t end up having a cursed career like some would be champions we have had in the sport for the last few decades. Safety car curse? 😢 Still, he’s only in his second year, and his tyre management in the last race was night and day to last year, almost no drop-off in race pace at all. Favourite driver, future champion, love his personality. I don’t think there’s a cooler head out there tbh.
we knew it was a shitty clickbait anyways, at least i got out of it that these rich assholes start with rc racing when they are babies, as if i already didnt know only rich assholes get into this 'sport'
could be.... he's good enough in my opinion, I've been really impressed with his drives so far... he is so composed behind the wheel too I think Lando needs to learn that sort of composure we see from Oscar... I could be wrong but I see Piastri overtaking Norris this season.
@@garrypatrick6097 2 championships!?? Must be in an other universe, cos he drove just 1 season!!! Ric,is a chicken cos he knew he couldn't beat Max,that's why he moved from RB...
Alpine was disloyal to Piastri seeing how they wouldn't commit to a contract with him as they couldn't make up their mind about him or Alonso until Alonso did it for them. Alpine told Twitter before they told Piastri that he was replacing the departing Alonso. Alpine had also NOT offically signed him. McLaren said they would seat him and sign him and buy out a washed up driver for him to be on the grid. He took the opportunity when it came, and he made the right choice; So did McLaren.
in what way is he overhyped? on pure pace he is able to keep up with his teammate who has been in f1 for 4 whole seasons and so far this year is higher in the standings. please explain how oscar is overhyped? i highly doubt you can using logical reasoning.@@mari-us6rh
I think there's another aspect to the billionaire boys club thing. I legit think that out of all pro drivers, only a handful are legit world class. I think because it costs so much money, even mediocre drivers can be somewhat successful, especially relative to kids who come from nothing and have no connections with the racing world. I think in the world there are thousands of kids that are naturally talented enough to be as good as Verstappen for example, just look at iRacing for example. It's just we'll never get to see them, which is just a sad reality of motorsports. This is why you see such divide between the likes of a Hamilton and a Bottas for example. We regard Bottas as an incredibly fast driver relatively speaking, but I think most people can become as good as Bottas if they dedicated their lives to it, where as only a handful can become as good as Hamilton. But imagine if motorsports was as cheap as football for example, we'd see an entire grid of Hamiltons shine through to the top.
First he cant pronounce Alpine, Then in the karting sequence we see one clip of Lando karting. You cant mistake that helmet but having a world champion karter on the vid is perhaps a good idea. We see a picture of his parents who apparently are Mr and Mrs Webber! Then we get the usual rubbish about the Alpine saga where Oscar was negotiating with Mclaren after Alonso announced his departure when in fact Oscar signed for Maclaren four weeks earlier after Alpine had failed to offer him a contract for nine months . Interesting that he was battling with Sergeant in F3 and just managed to beat him to the title. Oscar is a great driver but he has a long way to go to be regarded as an elite driver as the relative performance to Lando testifies. He was hyped up and that heaped pressure on Oscar. He has great potential but we wont know what his level is for another couple of years. To me he has the potential to be a Carlos or Albon which is a great driver but not a Lando and certainly not a Max.
Bullshit. Anyone who understands the sport don’t see the alpine drama as Oscars fault. Alpine dropped the ball with his contract, panicked when Alonso resigned & made assumptions. This isn’t even journalism.
No offence but Renault is a shit show for a while now. They keep tightly hugging the hopes of winning with Alonso or Ocon. Everyone in F1 is definitely a great driver, they wouldn't be there otherwise, but Ocon just won a few races for them and they can't even give the guy a chance? I felt the same way about Albon and Red Bull gave him a chance but he himself blew it. Front of the pack is very different. He couldn't handle the pressure. But Oscar obviously can and does. Also it's Alpine's fault he left. They didn't even talk with the guy but they told the world they have signed a contract. If I was him I would reject them just because of that. Even if that means I won't race on F1 ever again. Anyways you can't know what a person can do unless you put them inside the cockpit. McLaren did that and they are seeing the results now
He is a driver ....Non of them have Loyalty unless they have the fastest car Lewis proved this with his move to Ferrari after so many wins with Mercedes and just 2 years of a sub par car he jumps ship. The drivers are just another part of the car ,a spacer between the seat and steering wheel.
you have to be joking. As if anyone sees him negatively for his Alpine stuff. Firstly that was a massive big dick move, and secondly, Alonso made it very clear that there was more to it and he'd made the right move.nn
he's on Landos level already.... he's only had one season so far, I predict he will get better this year and overtake Lando and do the job that Danny Ric failed to do.... the boy's got it... 😁
