as far as Bobby Allison ...he should have got that win in Bowman Gray....Mustangs and Camaro, Javelins...were allowed at a limited time by Nascar..to run short tracks..mixed with the larger cars.....Bobby won in a Mustang...at first was credit with the win...then...taken away...Buck Baker and Tiny Lund...both won races in Camaros....and still are credit with there wins....

Well, having listened to Jeff Hammond interview, it cements the fact that DW was douche. All he does now is wonder why he lost friends .... doesn't know why. Age and maturity has a way of humbling a guy. When those people are dead there's no going back.

I think Bobby Allison seen your ways of back stabbing everyone, if you did great in Nashville before cup? And you didn't know caster camber or bump settings, rear steer etc how was you king of Nashville races and track champion?? You are talking out both sides of your mouth again darrell.

Just came from the FS1 full race replay of Richmond 1986 where Earnhardt took out Darrell. Darrell drove his behind off that WHOLE race to come from a lap behind and finally catch up to Earnhardt. No lucky dog free passes in those days. Much respect to him for never giving up....and he had just taken the lead when Earnhardt took them both out. I couldn't stand Waltrip back in the day....he was a smart ass jerk..which he admits to now that he has mellowed out some. Have come to respect his talent, intelligence and commentary. He is far and away the best commentator I have ever heard...always had interesting, intriguing, fascinating and relative things to point out...back in the good ol' days when they covered practice, qualifying and the race on tv. He was the best...loved listening to him in practice, qualifying and the race.. i'm an old race car driver, and everything he talked about were things I wanted to know about. Thank you, Darrell ! And thank y'all for the outstanding podcasts !!! Great work !

Awesome interview! I would love it if you guys could try to talk with Buddy Arrington. I've long been a fan of him since he was an independent driver who held on with Mopar through the early 80s.

Darrell can act like he doesn’t care but he tried to break that tie of 84 W’s for almost a decade and couldn’t just get that 85th W. But then he would have needed 86. Lol Darrell’s last W was 1992 Darlington and he drove all the way through 2000 trying to get 85 but just couldn’t do it. He even gave it 1 more last shot in 05...but no cigar. Now that would have been amazing had D Dub come down from the booth in 05 and got that W 14 years later.
