You should watch some CGI donghua's (Chinese anime), even though they're cultivators not wizards, their fights scenes make this scene look average by comparison
@@markdunham9634 I disagree with you on that. The first film was awesome but in the show, the final battle was just colored lasers and flashes. Truly disappointing.
The moment she did I couldn't stop cracking up because all I could think of was the scene in "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist" with Betty saying "I am a great magician.... YOUR CLOTHES ARE RED!"
Yes! When I went to go see it in theaters when it first came out no one was there hopefully they still continue to make more and make it a series of movies
I agree. Seen it in 4DX last year, enjoyed it even though I do not play DnD. This movie is hardly ever talked about now, I do hope to see a sequel to it in the future.
Considering time stop is among the list of spells? Between 19 and 22. But she also has cantrips. That being said, she also cast meteor swarm in the same fight and is basically a lich.
@@JohnDowson100 The character sheet they have for the NPCs are really bad since they don't reflect the characters at all. But as far as Simon goes, he can cast up to level 6 spells which puts him at about level 11.
I liked how instead of picking her up overhead and slamming her back down, it was just a bunch of rapid smacks against the floor. 😂 _Wackwackwackeackwack!_
It Surprises Me That This Actrice is so Very Good in Playing a Magical Being, The Move's Handmoves and Facial Expressions Are Amazing. And Her powers are off The boundries. She Must be Full of magic. She will Be in Many Other Fantasy movies in The Future I Predict. A Perfect Figure to Play this Kinda Stuff. By The way MCU ???. If I where You I better Think to Give The Scarlet Witch More Powers so She Can get Even With this Amount of Magic.
Teamwork and trickery, plus she got sloppy bc she was angry. I mean she STARTS the battle with meteor swarm, she probably did that in the heat of the moment and expected it to one shot them. She has lots of chances to just leave or even get some distance to snipe them, but she keeps arrogantly engaging them close-up. If she'd been thinking clearly she would have skedaddled after the time stop, or at least teleported to high ground, but she was pissed and felt like it was personal so she wanted to make a speech and use finger of death and that's how they got the bracelet on her. 🤷🏻♀️
Let's not forget the Bard. No, he didn't do any flashy magic, but depending on how you flavor your Bard, you might not need to. If any of the "wizards" from Lord of the Rings were in D&D, they'd be Bards, tapping into the Song of Creation to mess with the unseen world rather than just shooting lasers.
@@dakiisanuppermoon9356idk man I’ve never seen this movie and all of these magic scenes were fucking sickkkkk, better than Wanda /doctor strangers magic imo
So ive seen lots of Badlurs Gate 3 memes and know it can be a little... poignant with the options for relations. And because of that i couldnt help but just see the game as a joke. But as that has dwindled down, ive been intrigued to try it again, not just with a new character like always, but actually play it now that BETA is done and gone. Ive been really loving Warlock, which surprises me. I love magic but i didnt think id go for a warlock. Actually its a warlock with druid for a subclass. I figured not only is it a neat concept, but even nature has deadly decay (warlock), and that decay sometimes needs a little remedy(druid). But this makes me want to see more and more live action D&D
The way they beat Sophina in the final scene is complete nonsense. A wizard of level 17+, capable of casting 2 spells with 9 cell, i.e. having at least one epic gift - the gift of high magic, would have butchered this party of adventurers like a turkey. Two or three fireballs with 5-6 cells plus "Chain lightning" casted with 7-8 cells. And that’s it, all that would be left of the party would be just a handful of dust. And this does not take into account the fact that “Time Stop” works instantly, and does not spread like a wave or cloud. And also Sophina is able to summon a Spectre, which in his turn could quickly kill a couple of townspeople and call on their ghosts to aid in battle. Even when we simulated Sophina's final battle against a group of movie heroes, had been basing on the official statistics blocks of all these characters (blocks in which Sophia was deliberately and completely artificially deprived of all her attacking abilities), in 50-60% of cases Sophina completely destroyed the party. And we do not take into account the fact that Sofina is a human and she is 300 years old yet, i.e. she has long exceeded the limits of human life. This means that she is most likely a lich. As a result: it was simply disgusting to see how mediocre and forcedly they dealt with the “main villain” of history, who in the normal course of events should have been almost guaranteed to win.
Not really representative of spell casters in D&D. She was firing off spells faster than Mystra would be able to. That and the number of times she got hit while casting should have caused her to fail casting multiple times. It was like she had some effect that made it impossible for her to fail her saving throws, and that's not something the red wizards have access to. You need to be a priestess of Isis to get that.
OMG I've never rolled my eyes this hard at a comment. Ok nerd wwe got it, you know your rulebook by the letter. Wanna know something better about rules and DM ? They're made to go around for the rule of fun and cool to gain access. Also the time you need to cast and do things in the game isn't viable for movie making and also... go play BG3 this is good handle of the rules and also very cinematic. Now shoo shoo, let people have fun.
@@viviv6774 I've been running D&D games for 30 years. I never bothered accepting the offers, but people have offered me money to run for them. Trust me, I know the best rule of D&D or any other RPG. The rules are there as a suggestion because fun should be the goal. I wasn't saying it wasn't a cool scene. I was saying it isn't really representative of the game. But it's a completly different medium for storytelling, I don't expect it to line up. But if this was someone's first exposure to the setting, they might get the wrong idea of how magic even works in the game and have the wrong expectations. My comment was meant to educate new comers, not ruin anyone's fun.
@@KalijahAnderson I have absolutely no doubt that you are an incredible and immense DM. But it is not your job to "educate" newbies on the game rules. If they get the wrong idea, it is of their own responsabilities to learn how it works or even by their DM. And even then, the way they might learn how the game work may be completely different from how you learned and utilises today the rules of the game. The reason I replied is, and you should reread yourself, is that your message feels very pretentious of "how there is one specific way to DnD" which has been proved over and over that DnD is actually here to structure storytelling and gameplay for DM and players not limiting their players into a set of rules. You're making it seems like if they enjoyed the movie, those specific newbies can't enjoy DnD when they might just discover a whole new world and possibilities of storytelling. Honestly, I replied because I felt like replying and I really rolled my eyes at it. The way you answered, makes me feel like you just believe you know better than other because you have experience when even with experience you should always strive to be a student of new possibilities. I don't even have in mind to convince you of anything. It is hopeless, especially on the internet, but who knows...I might be wrong ?
Ngl I didn't wanna like this movie....the trailer looked like the jokes were forced and the lore didn't really appeal to me....watched it later on streaming and it was hilarious, balanced with a decent story and the characters worked well with each other....I'm not gonna say its the best movie ever made....but for a popcorn movie based on a game...its pretty fun
