The nurse at my school was actually AMAZING! She used to be a nurse so she knew when kids came in for something serious, it was SERIOUS! I remember one day I was having horrible cramps where like I legit couldn’t even stand up straight so she immediately had me lay down with a heating pad and called my mom. She then asked if I wanted some chocolate while I waited and even let me nap 💕
My nurse helped me when I had an anxiety attack. Took my blood pressure and offered me food. Don’t take advantage of the nurse and everything will be fine
One time my period was hurting so bad that I was crying in pain and could hardly move. The nurse was a type of woman that believed periods couldn’t be bad and girls made it up to get special treatment. She said ‘stop fake crying. Periods don’t hurt that bad. Now go to class.” I threw up in the trash can next to the bed and begged her to believe me because it was really that bad. She said I probably don’t drink enough water and that it’s probably due to that and not the period. She made me chug 3 plastic cups of water before going back to class. Luckily, my next class was PE and my coach got periods just as bad as mine, and when I told her the nurse didn’t help, she let me call my dad to take me home. She got in trouble the next day cause ‘only nurses can let you go home’ but she took it for me.
I broke my frickin finger and the office lady person gave me a wet paper towel in a bag that was just cold and that did not last a minute I was in soooooo much pain and my dad and mom was furious
I broke my arm right, in 3rd grade and the teacher on duty yanked me up by my broken arm then made me walk down to the nurses office but what did the nurse do, she didn’t know it was broken until a doctor who was also a teacher came and had a look then said to call an ambulance because my left wrist was broken so the school nurse said. I’ll give her some ice and let her sit here then I’ll try to move the sleeve off her jumper so it’s not putting pressure on the broken bones anyway I passed out from the pain so she sat on the bed and held me but she also put a bandage on my arm so it wouldn’t move, I had my left arm strapped to my body then the ambulance came and I was scared
Thankfully my school nurses aren’t like this yesterday I had a stomach ache and they immediately called my parents and I went home lol same for if I have a headache they will call my parents and let me go home
Whenever people get hurt at the ice rink we actually use our blades to shed the so they can use it in a bag. I can say, it is good if You're worried about bruising. 👍
For our school it's ice or peppermints I bet if a kid walked in there with a broken leg she'd be like here have some ice and if the kid said that didn't help she'd give them a peppermint and say go back to class.
at my school theyre still like deadly afraid of covid so they send you home now if you have the slightest stomach ache even if you came in for a scraped knee or something
I have epilepsy, went to the nurse caus eI felt very seizury and she told me to go back to class cause I wasn't broken or bleeding. I text my mom and she came and got me and chewed the nurse out.
One time my brother broke his collarbone at school and the nurse gave him ice and sent him back to class and he was only in kindergarten so he was screaming in pain
I tore my knee down to the tissue that was the only time she didn't offer ice and immediately called home. She ended up driving me home during lunch because no one came to get me. My parents thought she was being dramatic because what kid gets that hurt at playground covered in foam
As a school nurse, I was going to laugh this off as a joke. But after reading most of the comments, I see this is actually serious in some schools. While school nursing has a lot of limitations without pre-signed medical forms, I believe there is so much more a school nurse can do to help their students (even the ones that are seemingly faking it).
I was in a wheelchair cause of a really bad fall but only for like 30 minutes but I was in the nurses office the whole time and she had to call my mom but she gave me a ice pack while I waited- and she thought I broke my knee or Atleast fractured it-
I remember I went to the nurse in high school, and I don’t even remember what I originally went in there for, like a stomach or headache or something, but she starts exclaiming “oh my god are you okay?!” Starts examining my elbow and I was like…. bro…. uh… That is just what my elbow looks like… have you ever seen one before 👁️👄👁️ should you even be a school nurse if you don’t know what an elbow looks like? 😂 Like I get I’m a bony and skinny person so my elbows are a little knobby but like damn 👀
You just want to go home thats what i do when i want to go home but the nurse doesn't believe me and sometimes I want to go home and sometimes it is not true and sometimes it is true i am am a kid i am still in school and I am useing my moms phone
Legit disgusting. This content creator is playing so low. Like I wonder how they think of this random messed up shit and what school has an ice rink??? Tell me one in the US and I’ll shut up. I mean like is she just laying in bed like “what fucked up scenarios can I come up with?”
And this right here is why I want to be a school nurse so these kids don't suffer with "here's some ice" and "you'll be just fine go back to class" and "there's nothing I can do" when there are lots of ways to handle it, I'm tired of school nurses being the worst kind of doctor out there
in seventh grade I had a really bad migraine and my teacher had a microphone and the box that the sound came out of was pointing right into my ear and it made my headache 10 times worse and i had to go to the nurse and wait for my brother to come pick me up.
I work very closely with the school nurse at the high school I work at. The accuracy of this short is impeccable. If you don't have a fever, broken bone, aren't bleeding, or didn't vomit, it's an ice pack or mints and back to class you go! But in reality, there's only so much a nurse can do. A school nurse's hands are tied by the powers above that tell the nurse to keep the students in class and only send home in the most severe cases.
I remember one time I had a really bad period cramps and I went and asked the nurse if I could call my mom she gave me an ice pack told me to go back to class I did up throwing up in class because of how bad my stomach hurt💀
So I had this teacher and I didn’t feel good I had a headache and stomachache so I told her and she told me I was fine so I started crying because it hurt so much then puked and the teacher told me I made myself puke I ended up going home and my mom checked my temperature and it was 106
I swear this brings back a memory of mine we’re I have the allergy to the cold right so I get rashes and break out when it’s cold or there’s a cold bath or ice on me I went to the nurse office when I forgot my jacket and I was outside with my friends eating lunch but I was having such a bad reaction I needed to go home I go the nurse office explain what’s happening and she says well how about you eat inside and I can get you some ice to help with the rashes 😑😑😑😑😑
This is so true school nurses when we break our arm be like: oh here is some ice u should feel better soon. Likeeee nooo that is not how it works I thought u were a nurse! Obviously not
