Wow! This is powerful, the acting, shooting, and editing is spot on. Pete submit The Schwarzschild Radius to Dust, because it would perform and they specialize in sci-fi subject matter.

I love this piece… the video should be thousand of hours long recorded within 2 minutes of earth time vs an event horizons warped time.

Can anyone explain why was he aging throughout the recorded clip? When the time is assumed to slow down near heavy gravitational objects like a black hole and also isn't the video a recorded clip hence shouldn't matter even if those recorded 2 minutes are played whether on Earth or some other less dense space in universe

You are right, the person would experience time flowing normally but everything around them seeming to slow down. However, that doesn't take away from this brilliant film.

It is the other way around. He would be younger and others would be older. He would freeze on the event horizon on other's observational frame. That is why the BH's are also called frozen stars.

Schwarzschild means "black shield" and is pronounced "SHVARTS-shilt".

Gravity inside the black hole follows Newton's shell theorem. Gravity in the center of a black hole is zero.

Another amazing sci-fi narrative, Pete. So emotionally affecting - and in only three minutes. Many full-length features fail to accomplish this. Bravo for producing another sensational film!

In fact, if it is livefeed , he would see him age for decades and he would not understand what he is saying since each word would take him years to formulate, everyone else would see him almost frozen during each day normally spend on earth.

Don't worry for those falling into the black hole it appears like normal time. 10 minutes are 10 minutes. In the same time outside might pass thousands of years. So the short movie might be from the science wrong, but nevertheless it's nicely done.

@@MrKAmsterdam Yes I was wondering why the astronaut was ageing so fast. The story writer got his physics wrong. His son would be the one seemingly ageing very rapidly from the astronauts perspective.

There is validity to the comments here, but ... 1. If the astronaut had passed the event horizon wouldn’t the message have been transmitted over some portion of time it would take for the black hole to evaporate? 2. If the message was transmitted via black hole evaporation wouldn’t it be hopelessly scrambled? 3. Alternatively, if the information was transmitted by a “white” hole wouldn’t there be an entirely different set of conditions of low long it would take? 4. Finally, I think there is an implicit assumption that transmission technology isn’t conventional
