Join us for another day in "The Scout Life"! In this new series come alongside Sean as he gives you a raw look into owning a Scout, like most of you watching! In this episode Sean tackles the task of upgrading his alternator in his 1975 Scout II. Alongside of this mechanical upgrade the Scout gets a new accessory in the RIGd UltraTable for its RIGd UltraSwing Hitch Carrier! After installing the UltraTable we figured we better test it out! Like the bean test would like too have been there for . Their use too be a compani by the name Mad he showed that a Volt gage is better then a amp gage and I did it too my sciut you take a 12 volt run connection to a relay to oper it and throught a set og Break make contact of the relay you wire too the volt gage and then you see your voltage at all time . I did it to my scout put relay in glove box loved the gage like your vidoes their down to earth wish I could be there too help looks like fun .

Great Video I really enjoyed it! Keep up the great content. @27:55min there is a nice little puddle of coolant. Hopefully that's an easy fix. Fingers crossed.

One extra add to the jumper wire would be to replace a small section of the factory charge wire with a fusible link right on the back of the alternator. If for some reason that new battery cable get highs resistance from corrosion or someone forgets to put the terminal back on the battery when doing maintenance, you’ll avoid all the amps going through the single 10 gauge wire. Just extra redundancy to protect the factory wiring should there be an issue with the jumper wire- the link pops and prevents any current from flowing, but you can limp home on battery power

I would go deaver if you can. I plan on running the deaver setup on mine. The 33x9.5 would be awesome with a nice steel wheel.

great video! looking forward to learning how you choose your route on the upcoming trip. i would like to put something together for myself and friends here in michigan sometime and not sure of the best way to do it. i have some ideas but haven’t tried yet.

Hey guys, any tips to minimize or stop the common IH V8 tick? Something nearly all seem to do, some worse than others. I don’t necessarily mind but wouldn’t want it too bad and unable to quiet it at least partially

My dad, my brother and I were backpacking Big Bend and had set up camp for the evening and dinner was some of that Hormel chili. The next day after dad came back from his morning constitutional he said “that chili looks the same coming out as it did going in!”. Good times.
