I'm addicted to kratom, was addicted to alcohol and am diagnosed with substance abuse disorder. Once my mom died, I completely fell into that pit and ruined so many relationships and opportunities. I can relate to him in those aspects. You really don't understand how delusional it makes you. Feeling like I need drugs to function and not really grasping how much it's ruined my life. I always thought treating addiction as a illness was stupid but I'm 28 and nothing has changed in that aspect.. I really think I don't have control over it anymore and need to seek help. I really hope he's managing better. He's in a much better position to get that kind of help than the average person.
