@@andrew4446 I know your frustration from the content he provides, but he definitely helped me in getting familiar with fps gaming, as I had no background in that. After watching most of his coaching videos, I can tell that his content is not very dense, but even if he does not go deep into specifics, the way he delivers his logic was good and very educational for newbies. I probably have watched over hundreds of his videos and cumulatively gained a coaching that definitely worth more that 175 dollars. Now of course his coaching got repetitive for me, but I watch him sometimes for entertainment as, I believe, most of his viewers. And about his pricing, it is not worth buying, but he said that he had to do it to reduce the number of people to coach and free up his schedule, as with lower price he was booked for 3 months every single day. @ProdByCari
@ProdByCari Год назад
It's not really smurfing though, it is handicapping yourself to see how far you can progress. Your typical Smurf will just make a new account specifically to play against lower-tier players, what Joelz is doing is giving himself a handicap and seeing if he can progress with it (so far he hasn't progressed far in his knife-only series, you only see the highlights) Personally, I don't see much wrong with this as it's the equivalent of a professional football player tying to see how far they can go with only one leg. Based on Riots algorithm, it should place him in/near the correct rank that he belongs in when using that handicap.
@popsicle2735
@popsicle2735 Год назад
@@ProdByCari how about the first irons that he went against. he clearly was better than all of them. when you handicap yourself and try to see how far you can go, you have to start somewhere, whether thats silver or gold. @@popsicle2735 So two things: #1 he is actually a lower rank now than he was to start: first placed Iron 3 and is now Iron 2. #2 Does that mean a CSGO pro who plays their initial placement matches against worse opposition is smurfing? Ofc not as there are obvious flaws in Riots system. Regardless, he was not "clearly better" then all of them when going knife only.. which is reflected in his Valorant tracker. What you see on his youtube is only a montage of his best clips in a bunch of games. You don't see all the rounds where he simply doesn't get a kill... the games where he only gets 3 or 4 kills.. My main point is though that everyone regardless of rank has to play placements games before they are placed in riots rank system, it just so happens that he is iron at best with a knife only.
@popsicle2735

thank you for talking about this honestly, this has been an issue with content creators and pros too for quite some time now, since easy lobbies is basically free content. Luckily tho there are some content creators that do these kind of challenges in a different way, take Keeoh for example, he doesn't do iron to immortal/radiant, he does UNRANKED to immortal/radiant, so he starts a brand new account MADE BY HIMSELF and not bought by anyone else, and just plays the 5 placement matches so that the game can get an idea of his MMR and give him a more suitable/appropriate rank.

(Keeoh literally being friends with Jollz) But also Jollz has done a very similar thing with his [role] to radiant series he did awhile ago. Jollz did an Initiator to Radiant, Controller to Radiant, and Sentinel to Radiant series. Basically the same premise as Keeoh's speedrun's but he's playing the role not a specific agent. I don't watch Jollz all that often, but I've seen enough of him to know that he's just a chill streamer and makes fun content. I will agree that his prices for coaching is overpriced, but he does them live on stream. The advice and help he gives is genuinely pretty good. The clip in this video seems absolutely cherry picked.

A few thoughts that I would like to share: Prior to watching this video describing the perspective low elo players have in their ranked games involving being the victims of content creator challenges, I didn't think much of someone going "knife only" to implicate as badly as shown in the video. However, being someone who is actively in low elo right now, learning how to climb via aim, game sense, and through solo queue, I realize how annoying a Radiant knifing you as Omen would be. The thing is, Menmaro is completely right, and most people really don't get it, especially down here in plat and below. I get teammates screaming at me to shut up because they have more kills even as we go 3-13 in a game, and when I bring up how bad their game sense is, they lose their shit and go apeshit. Point being, all of us down below Asc 3 do not have high level gameplay intelligence. People might say they do, but in reality, they really don't. I'm not necessarily arguing that as a current silver I can go toe to toe with a diamond 2 or smth, but in general, people don't have a decent shred of game sense that Radiants and Immortals so easily abuse against casual low elo players. That coaching price is crazy. I constantly tell my teammates to practice aiming at each other's heads before the round starts just to start getting used to what "headshot" height is in general. That advice should not be $175, much less two bucks. And yea, plenty of videos online teach you well enough anyways. If anything, the only advice in low elo should be "aim better so you can kill them faster." Playing aggressive and winning easy gunfights pulls you straight out of the cesspool known as silver and gold, and afterwards, you can begin to develop map and game sense. But generally, all that matters down in "freelo" is aim, regardless of the agent you play. Then higher, then you can start worrying about util usage and etc. At least that's what I got from personal experience.

There is definitely a difference in aim between a Dia and an Immo player. Like I know there are people in Dia who have really high level aim and don't climb because they don't understand the rest of the game but those are not the majority. The thing you said about diamond-immortal is true. Im a top 200 radiant peak and you would think there isnt a big difference between me (850rr) and maybe a 400rr immortal 3, but there is a huge one. Whenever matchmaking is bad and i get in a top 3k lobby, its just utter domination from me. It's sad that i dont have to smurf but get placed in low lobbies cause the matchmaking is bad. One game top 3k lobbies, 1 game full rad and tier 1 players. Also finished your whole video, its also very true about if you want, you will climb. I started as a bronze 2 a year ago, got immortal 1 after just 2 acts, meaning probably 4 months or so. Then it took me half a year to radiant. I did not watch ANY youtube tutorial, nothing, just watched nAts and other pro players play while grinding the hours in.

LMAO. please explain to me how you are blown away by a Diamond player telling you aim isn't important. Please tell me where the thought process and decision making comes in when an Immortal queues for a game in a Plat lobby and holds W into site killing everyone instantly. In my smurfing cases (ive reached high immortal and rad on 3 seperate accounts) the more you rely on gamesense and trying to outplay people with logic is the more you're gonna lose control of the game and just be another average KDA reyna in that game. there is no complex decision making when it comes to Immortals or Rads. Its basic gameplay that looks normal, except now youre playing against people that casually play COD, new to PC, bad computers, peripherals, fps, etc. and you can just simply react faster. It blows my mind how VALORANT probably has the lowest TTK in any FPS game released so far yet I still see bots in "high elo" (top 2-3% ascendant, but still trash gameplay) who dont even know how to counter strafe. or proper visualizing techniques. or proper movement. or proper decision making. i could (not exaggerating) list you like 1000 other things. Its mistakes riddled with other tiny mistakes that all lead to this giant mess. All of these things come together to form your average bot player in ranked. Now you see why its not hard to just simply outaim everyone that dont even know what they're doing, and even if they did, possibly couldn't have the skill or courage to muster up any confidence to attempt a kill on an obviously smurfing enemy. I might sound delusional if you don't know the proper definition and differences between "gamesense" and "aim." Let me explain it to you Aim is NOT: The embodiment of tiktokers flicking to the moon and back to get 1k clips Flicking everywhere like a speed demon. Setting your sensitivity to 2.0 1600 dpi Instead, Aim is defined as how effectively and efficiently one is able to move their crosshair. That includes, but is not limited to, counterstrafing, visualization techniques, reaction time, crosshair placement, tracking, clicking, target switching. Even movement can be considered a part of this branch, since the definition of aim itself is game specific. You cannot "aim" properly if you don't know how to deadzone your enemy, or move in sync with your crosshair and counteracting your aim inaccuracies due to movement. Essentially, even the act of shooting your gun is aiming. Everything is. Gamesense is, like what, knowing your angles, when to rotate, and general good usage of timings ingame. Gamesense, however, is also a very specific internal thought process that only becomes useful when you can actually predict what other people are going to do. Trying to utilize that inner decision making, or gamesense, in lower elo when youre used to normal high level plays that are logically thought out and not just random plays made by plats who got off of work and havent played in months, might as well be in whole different branch. It's like watching TenZ play gridshot, loading into gridshot, and just shooting everywhere with no accuracy only replicating his speed. It's like trying to stand up in sleep paralysis. IT DOESNT EXIST. its a BLUR. youre never going to find it. youll get caught off guard by players who dont know what theyre doing, and aim will come to crutch you out of every scenario regardless. you feel enlightened by this dumb statement made by a diamond player because no one experienced enough in this game is delusional enough to make that statement regardless. if youre thinking about what youre doing ingame, youre not good at valorant. PLEASE REMEMBER. JOLLZ IS RADIANT. RADIANT. THE SKILL GAP BETWEEN RADIANT AND IMMORTAL 2 IS SO UNBELIEVABLY LARGE THAT ID SAY ITS A LARGER DIFFERENCE THAN IRON3- ASCENDANT 3 IN TERMS OF RANK. YOUR AVERAGE LOW IMMORTAL SHITTER IN THIS COMMENT SECTION IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO COMMENT ON THE EFFECTS THAT GOOD AIMING HAS IN LOW RANKS.

5:25 I completely agree with you. I'm mid Silver - low Gold and there is such a difference in a strong opponent and a smurf. It's ok to have good opponents, because you have a challenge and that's how you improve, that's how you learn and get better, but when I face smurfs, by the time i can react, I get headshoted by a Vandal or simply find myself ( and/or my team) in hopeless situation, and I just have to wait another 30 minutes of me being destroyed just so i can lose, not learn anything and have my morale decrease, maybe even rage quit and be banned for a few hours, unable to play It's tough, especially since Riot doesn't see smurfing as a problem. I always report smurfs but nothing happens. It just ruins the game, and at the end of the day it's mostly people with a god complex that smurf just so they can eliminate and laugh at lower skill players

Those players won't encounter a knife only omen ever again in their life unless they have the misfortune of getting in a lobby with jollz again. Again, they are irons. They won't be able to kill jollz if he were standing still in middle of a site. They probably play once a week or are completely new to Valorant. If they can't learn to counter knife only, then they're just ass and aren't gonna get better anyway. I think you underestimate how good irons are. Sure, there are some new players, but I've seen some decent iron players that just need to play more. Honestly, they can learn from a knife only omen like clearing their goddamn corners (jollz sometimes just smokes and hides in them or in a rat corner) since they keep dying like that you would think they would start clearing their corners Also, most of his games he mid or bottom frags, so he's not even impacting the game as much as you think.

A few issues I see with this video (coming from someone who has only seen a few of Joelz videos): #1 You should be careful to criticize his coaching, for all I know you could be right however it's a little inappropriate to speak on it without having tried a session yourself, or showing evidence of others that say it's basically the same coaching as his free videos. Personally, I would assume his free videos are slightly watered down compared to his actual coaching sessions otherwise nobody would buy the service. However, I have not experienced his coaching myself so idk. #2 Regarding price, I agree it seems egregious but that is up to the consumer to determine value.. if Joelz feels that the price is justified and consumers reinforce that belief to him by buying sessions.. it really isn't his fault that his prices are that high, it's only a standard marketing practice of supply and demand economics. #3 I think we need to distinguish smurfing, and having an alt account with a handicap. Joelz isn't making new accounts over and over to destroy lower-tier players, he is making a new account to use a handicap and see how high he can rank. Based on Riots matchmaking algorithm, he should be placed in the appropriate rank he belongs in with that handicap (which is different than smurfing and continuously making new accounts or throwing games). Regardless, at the end of the day, it's a game and players should have the ability to try playing the game in new/entertaining ways if they want to. I would rather be allowed the freedom of making a new account and trying a knife-only, sheriff-only, classic-only run and seeing how far I can make it with that handicap. However, I do agree that people who smurf just to destroy lower-skilled players are a-holes who should be banned.
@ProdByCari
@ProdByCari Год назад
Also just a side note to help back my point: I looked up his Valorant tracker and his placement match ranked him as iron 3 on march 8th, since then he has made next to no progress on the account.. he did hit bronze 1 but quickly de-ranked down to iron 2, I think this just shows that he is in fact in the appropriate rank for the handicap he has given himself. Personally, I don't see him continuing the series to gold as even he probably knows there will be no way for him to achieve that rank using knife only.. despite how good he might play with no handicap.

But Wohoojin has a moral compass and appropriate pricing and that is not to mention that the advice jollz gives is extremely shallow in comparison to the indepth analysis Wohoojin provides.

I agree with everything you said and even learned that jollz charges $175, that's fucking crazy. I would never have paid for coaching in the first place but damn. I had the initial impression of liking jollz but like you said after one or two videos you get the gyst, it's the same generic tips you could get from any valorant tips and tricks video. I definitely don't have amazing aim and I'm fairly new to the game but started off in bronze and am now in diamond. I have my games but I'm not super consistent but it's possible

Smurfing is a topic of mixed feedbacks since it became a route for content like " road to radiant in roles/agents, handicaps and etc. " it has two sides to understand ,its a fine line where your rationale brings you .I've learned a lot of things from jollz and other creators from all ranks that lead me to further understand fps and valorant since this is my first time having a pc . i do see the argument of it is a wash and repeat sometimes of advice and tactics , but there are times where there are in depth advices given to specific training sessions since everybody is different. i didn't know that these coaching sessions cost this much to be washed and repeated some of the times , but it is his and other coaches business and due to exposure and content that creators make they can price there time to their wants just like any self made business nobody is forcing them to buy the service ,good take on that anybody can climb in this game with proper studying and routine. I think making only jollz the thumbnail would bring a argument since there are a lot of creators that are in this topic , i think adding more of these creators in the thumbnail would generalize rather than look like a straight statement towards jollz only. Another take on these smurf accs isnt there a update that would place you in higher lobbies if you were of suspicion of smurfing making it harder to rank up as a smurf since youre in higher lobbies and not destroying other ranks gameplay or experience of the game ? To me nice video of taking on the topic of "ruining other peoples experience in the game". To me whether there is a smurf or not this quote from Curry on his take being " on any game/rank I'm smurfing this game is easy, stop complaining and get better". but that is just my opinion , did i miss anything or over look a topic in my take?

I’m sorry, but there’s no way you genuinely think an iron player should just “get better” and beat an immortal/radiant smurf. Quit trying to defend people who just want to shit on low elo players and ruin their games
