They are trying to disrupt the whalers fleet operation of harpooning whales and processing them, if they can disrupt even a day of these whalers operations, then it is a day won for the activists. You need to keep them away from the whales and keep them busy fighting off against the activists offensive maneuver, by disrupting their operations without engaging in unnecessary fights that can result in harm and possible injuries or casualties. Keep them busy with other things to keep them away for what they are meant to do.
