how much does the difference between planets and dwarf_planets matter ??? I don't think there's aren't that many differences between them and some dwarf planets are allmost as interesting the main difference is probably force of gravity on the area near them this difference night not matter that much afterall . . . but what do you think ???
Sounds nice :D I can still remember a few special dreams like the one you're describing from my childhood, but I can't really dream like that anymore :(
@@hase3362 if yi want your dreams back , eat some cheese an hour or so before nodding off . ah've had some weird dreams after eating cheese , the old saying don't eat cheese b 4 bed it'll give yi night mares , has some truth ti it ah think , aye !
i fully disagree. i just think alot of people dont fulyl realize how important it is to pay attention in school until after they get out. no fault of their own ant it doesnt mean theyre stupid.we all wish we had taken school more seriously,
At 28 years old I recall having basically no drive for school at all. Nothing ever stuck. I'm only now in my late 20s developing the drive to learn and in every aspect I can, it's like a runners high. Knowledge is power holds true metaphorically and a literary sense, that said I can't express how grateful I am to have access to this information for free it's honestly a gift. It's refreshing because I only recently found out a lot of academic information is locked behind a pay wall or requires you to be a student or staff member at an institute this is invaluable to someone like me thank you!
The writing and narration of this production is absolutely superb. Like a gentle carpet ride through the history of the solar system we call home, I found it simultaneously informative, hypnotic and awe-inspiring. Well done!
I woke up after having left youtube on to find this having played about quarter way through. After a few minutes it grabbed my attention so completely that I restarted it and watched it in it's entirety. To be honest - I'm not even certain how I can accurately describe the experience. I was nearly moved to tears on more than one occasion throughout this video and it felt like something akin to a 'religious' experience. Not sure how to remark on it outside of that honestly. Thank you for this video.
I'm a science-fiction writer, and I have a character in a story I'm working on whose father harvests planetoids and asteroids for precious metals, making her a rich, spoiled brat. This spectacular doc was like a college course for me, for free, and something I can do from quarantine! Thank you so much, DTTV- Quantum Universe! As a writer, I never know what I'm going to need to know, you know? Priceless!!!
It's mind boggling that Jupiter, for all it's size, has a 9 hour day. Imagine standing on its surface, if it had a solid one, getting whipped around at supersonic speeds.
The crazy thing is, you wouldn't notice it other than the stars very slowly moving across the sky. You're traveling at almost 500,000 miles an hour at this very moment.
Absolutely mind blowing! Ive heard people say they watch it to fall asleep but i find it so enthralling that i watch it from beginning to end , thank you for this beautifully put together episode..am well and truly hooked ❤🇬🇧
I absolutely love the description of Cassini’s demise. It is very detailed and personal, giving it almost a human quality. Once again excellent narration. Watching this video has peaked my interest in planetary science/astronomy. I feel like I missed out on my calling.
I think we should forget about Billion Dollar $$$ joy rides for 2-3 Weak Human Astronauts and get a fleet of Rovers on every Planet with a solid surface...they can explore for Months/Years instead of a few days
I work in aerospace building rockets. It's pretty mundane work at that level but documentaries like this remind me of how astonishing space travel is. I love seeing the subassemblies partially built with all their internals on display. So complicated and beautiful.
You're not going anywhere in space with those shitty rockets. To do that you will need antigravitic and zero-point energy technology which your government that faked the Apollo moon landings pretends not to possess. In truth, they do, and they have for nearly a century, only you're not allowed to know about it. Fact.
Who is "traveling in space"? We will be lucky if we get back to the moon Mars is a huge question mark. But even if we do get to the moon and Mars, that will be about it. We cannot travel far Any space vehicle will be slower than a slug.. about like a snail traveling from LA to New York. Even less than that.. Traveling at a third of light speed it would still take 2 or 3 generations to get to Proxima Centauri.
It is not rocket science! It is just math! And it is all about energy! Like yoga! Great, huh? Power yoga! Sure you don't mix up documentary and documentation? Just kidding, just kidding. Kidding! So complicated!
lol Wow you are very harsh at a simply comment and sound disappointed that we can not do more... personally I think its astounding we have managed to get to the moon at all! Maybe that chip on your shoulder needs adjusting a little :o) @@philipculver2719
Probably the best documentary on our solar system I have seen. The narration is low key and dense in detail (ladies take note - narrator sounds like Jeremy Irons). Covers all eight planets, the asteriod belt, the minor planets, the Kuiper belt and the Oort cloud. FIVE STARS
Yes! I agree 100%, His delivery has the perfect cadence, calm and british ( that is way easier than synthetic pseudo-british or irritating southern american drawl to digest for hours at a time), and the information is useful and free of words like "shocking" or "we were wrong" type crap....thank you DTTV.
I can't imagine how many efforts have been put in making this video. So small details and facts are well discussed. I appreciate the extensive research carried to bring all the research work done over so many centuries in a single video. I wonder how many research papers you had to read 😃. Hats off. Icing on the cake is the soothing sound with uniform pitch throughout.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The content, the background music and the perfect narrator are all Oscar worthy. Thank you to all who put this together. The best video on RU-vid. I’ll be rewatching this again and again.
Perfect narration. Beautiful, clear and calm. A voice which is trustworthy and very, very British. So refreshing . America take note. This is how you inform people.
This doc straddles the line between infotainment for nerds and average Joes and Jills. Not an easy thing to do. Even ones on PBS can't do it like this. The narration is superb.
I'm so glad I wasn't in bed where sometimes the rhythm of the narration can help you sleep because I really enjoyed this. It didn't treat viewers like idiots, had interesting use of language and wasn't using ridiculous gimmicks for views (as if what's going on out there isn't interesting enough!) Mind you, I'm no great student of the cosmos, but it held my attention easily 😊 Thank you!
Am I the only one listening to my daughter’s video of this lovely program who hears a voice in a Scottish brogue saying: “Aye Capt’n They must be Berra advanced! They’re using Ion Drive!”
Fantastic movie, can't imagine the amount of effort put into it... apparently I have a lot to learn about the RU-vid business model. As for the narrator, he's binary compared to everything that's wrong with the world today... intelligent, intellectual, rich language but not inflated, calm, not artificially sensational and (thank god for the) British accent! Well done!
This is the best doc I've ever seen on our solar system. The first 20 minutes on Pluto were phenomenal. I met Clyde Taumbaugh back in the late '80s, and knew his ashes were on Horizon, so this touched my heart in a special way. He was so proud then, and would be so proud now. "To infinity and beyond", Mr. Taumbaugh. (From Toy Story) He just might discover Planet X after all. The rest of the video was equally satisfying, as well. Thank you. Side note: I will always consider Pluto a planet. After all, the cuneiform tablets from ancient Sumar depict it as such. Right? 🙅♀️🤷♂️
What a fascinating journey through the depths of our solar system's mysteries! From the early observations of Uranus and Neptune to the discovery of distant worlds beyond, this documentary offers a captivating narrative that keeps you glued to the screen. A must-watch for anyone intrigued by the wonders of space!
This documentary is not just another space telly. It is not easy to explain how interconnected everything in the universe is, no matter how we look at it, either through a microscope or telescope and this film does shine some warm light on it all. When you turn the news channel on after watching this, it really does make you feel hopeless for the future of our species, lol.
Thank you ever so kindly for offering such vast information in a remarkably cohesive , comprehensive and also relaxing approach. You're efforts and precious time are greatly appreciated
Sad that we lost this amazing spacecraft. How does it function? How is it being controlled? The minds of these engineers! This is all so interesting, I go to bed with this on, it’s so beautiful and calming.
First-rate information presented logically and entertainingly. I must say I've never heard detail like this before about our own solar system and found it startlingly educational. Well done! (And I can't thank you enough for NOT using a chat bot to foul up the narration.)

Over three hours of absolutely majestic, wonderfully awe inspiring visuals and information laden documentary. Bravo to this masterpiece and its makers.
I am speechless (except not . . .)! This is so very well done. Excellent script, narration, graphics. And I'm learning so many different bits of knowledge. Bravo! Fabulous work, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Came across this channel not so long ago and i should say this is the most informative channel about our universe. the research and work that has gone into preparing this is exceptional. You have my thanks and continue educating us.
49:13 we could have skipped going all the way to Pluto if it looks EXACTLY like Ceres :) Still, as someone who hates most modern (post discovery channel) TV science documentaries with their focus on drama and simplicity, this is a nice change. So much betetr.
Every detail told in this video is not just a story but a lot of research work carried by countless scientists and researchers, long hours of working and thinking and lots of mathematics. It is so astonishing to realize that I am just a tiny, trivial, negligible and insignificant thing in this vast universe.
Imagine having your ashes sent to Pluto. Man, what a trip, Godspeed. Also Pluto will always be a planet to me 🖤 The Voyager crafts were something incredible, I can't believe they were out there in space longer than I've been alive and just recently signed off indefinitely. Talk about getting one's money worth. NASA accomplished so much 👏
So happy to have found this channel! Perfect narration and even the music is beautiful. Whoever came up with this format is a genius! Keep up the good work!
"We Now understand that Earth has been a fortunate world. An Oasis in a constantly changing solar system that's maintained a stable climate perhaps against the odds. For the four billion years it's taken complex living things to evolve - we don't know how many planets like Earth are out there amongst the Stars. Where the ingredients of solar systems have assembled into structures capable of dreaming of other worlds. That we must consider the possibility that there are very few and that would make earth and us extremely rare and precious". This quote hit me straight to my core... The lonely reality but beautiful truth that all we have is US.
That theory is just that, a theory. Do not forget we once had a theory that the sun circled the earth. There are billions of stars out there. There are other, plausible theories about how our solar system was formed too. We are rather unique, compared to what we can observe at present, but that is not the end of the story.
The Narration is hair rising, mesmerising and dream like. I am still in my bed, after completing the video, with an epiphany and perhaps a better understanding of my place in this magnitude of time and scale.
I just ran across this channel randomly searching for new documentaries to watch & HOLY SHIT!!!!! I can't believe the way these guys put this content together. It can get really technical at times but even then the way he explains it kinda puts me in a trance. I ended up watching everything they've got on the channel in one night!!!!! Just AMAZING!!! & I Microdose mushrooms daily for my mental health & these documentaries were a real eye opener, ( especially on the mushrooms). Anyway PLEASE KEEP MAKING SUCH MIND BLOWING CONTENT!!! I can't wait till you guys post some new videos. 1✌️✌️✌️
I listened to this while doing my hw and I must say it’s the best I love these type of vids because I learn things and it doesn’t distract me much at all from my hw like tv shows do
Watched it in three seperate parts. But surely a great video! Amazingly done!! Maybe the most immersive, planetary science video out here on youtube. Great narration.
i was thinking the same as yourself i just came across this channel tonight and so glad i did it was amazing wasnt it and as you said it could be the most immersive, video on here about the planetary system,,science.space all this and more it was fantastic ive defo subscribed and will be reccomending it to others to watch , if you dont mind me asking do you know of any other good videos like this to wacth? as ive watched so many and im looking for one thats informative and keeps me entertained at the same time and itd be great if it was nearly as good as this if there is one like it as this is hard to beat was so dam good
I have been searching for ages to fund a channel with great content on the universe and where the narrator is not washed away by terrible tunes and awful rithm boxes. It is really wonderful to be able to listen to a person, who knows where he is talking about.
This is a spiritual experience. Fills me with wonder, awe and a preternatural feeling of calm and peace. Thank you for this wonderful journey, I feel I will be watching this for years to come.
in several docos he narrates he says ‘at the time of writing’ and also, regarding the planets, ‘…we wanted to blah blah’ Hes either an astronomer or a astro physicist… along those lines. personally i dont care if hes a baker-he has the most lilting voice & is a sublime writer.
I use to fall asleep to RU-vid, i woke up 15 min ago, listening to this wonderful video 1h50m in. Amazing voice, great subject. Trying to fall asleep again but this voice is so engaging. Gonna press subscribe, change video and try again. NN
What a wonderfully epic three and a half hour journey through our solar system..filled with huge amounts of information and the most wonderful narrative : )
This POV video of Jupiter as collected by the satellite sent from earth- as it soared through rocks cometoids and other space items is absolutely stunning. Well done!!!
Not too sure how i came accross this video because it was 4am roughly and i had a bad nights sleap due to stress. But this helped me relax enough to get some sleap and learn many things too. The detail in this and the narrators relaxing tones kept me captured in an almost calmed asleap/awake state and almost storytelling portrayal kept me there for a full watch / listen of this. The background music soft and relaxing id like to say Well done. And thank you.
This is just blowing my mind over and over and over again. Thank you so much for this 😊 I love earth and the other planets so much what a beautiful universe
It’s amazing what humans have been able to accomplish. It’s sad that most of us don’t appreciate it, but are instead absorbed in Stone Age tribal mentality.
I usually watch random RU-vid videos until I sleep, but this one I watch the whole 3 hours... Great job for keep me up whole the whole morning, but learnt so much !!
So informative and so well narrated. Great job. Takes one away from the mundane rubbish of our confused and misguided civilisation polluting and torturing our planet. Thank you for all the work and effort you have put into this documentary.
Perhaps we can attribute the hexagonal polar structure to the fact that hydrogen, helium and methane produce hexagonal crystals when frozen. Like snowflakes on Earth, the most efficient shape emerges at atomic levels and reproduces with fractal expansion. It's a confined system using it's most stable configuration to exist.
You don't need the crystals. Hexagons can tile a flat surface, so that's it. It just follows from the geometry, where materials seek the minimum energy state on a surface. It comes up on the surface of boiling/condensing liquids. If you want to tile a curved surface you also need some pentagons. All kinds of fun to be had looking in to this.
