In a nation that has more than a 100million people living below the poverty line, It was absolutely insane for government to implement policies that deepens poverty in this country. Most Nigerians are now helpless and hopeless because they cant afford basic necessities like food, water, housing, medicine and education. It is funny that the government can blindly float free market policies without anticipating the impact those policies would have on peoples' standard of living. Companies are groaning and can't afford to increase salaries because profits have dropped drastically, hence prevailing wage does not correspond with prevailing economic realities. As a nation, we must go back to productivity : Agriculture, Medicine, Technology and Manufacturing. Our policies must be deliberately geared in this direction. Regardless, the above will be difficult to achieve if corruption, lack of transparency and injustice are not tackled. These are the major problems.
