Fun fact: Unohana's Shikai and Bankai both share the same name, "Minazuki". However, the kanji used to write them are different. The kanji used to write her shikai translate to "Flesh Drops Gorge". However, the characters used for her bankai trainslate to "All things End".

I love how you thought "Her sin" was that she made kenpachi so bloodthirsty and battle obsessed, but in reality what she considered her sin was that he isn't bloodthirsty ENOUGH since she caused him to hold back

Kubo hinted a while ago that a Bleach game is in the works ;). bro the character roster is BEYOND perfect for a fighting game. Unohana is the definition of Elegance. She was truly a Warrior down to the core. its like that quote " its better to be a Warrior in a garden than to be a gardner in a war" She was Soft, Kind, mature, and elegant but at the very same time she was literally THEE Kenpachi. The strongest, the most notorious criminal in all of Soul Society history. Kubo is such a genius with the way his pen moves and imagination. P.S She had to die... there can only be 1 Kenpachi, like she said " thats the rule". Her giving Kenpachi her sword is a figure of speech, its like her finally passing the baton over to him like she has always wanted...the TRUE Kenpachi. EDIT - Remember... Ichigo SINCE EPISODE 1 has been GRANTED his Shinigami powers via someone else ( Rukia ) even in the fullbring Arc ( everyone poured their power into the sword that gave Ichigo his powers). He never had his OWN Asauchi/Sword to begin with.

Funny you said domain expansion, Akutami lists Kubo as his number one mangaka influence and specifically i think the bankai reveals in this arc were the direct influence for the concept of domain expansion in JJK!

Don't attack me for saying this but... Kenpachi and Unohana's offspring would be unstoppable 💀. I ship them despite how others might view they're relationship, hopefully they have another encounter in Hell 👀.

It's honestly wild just how much power Kenpachi has, he was fighting throughout most of the series with mental restraints and his eyepatch on top of that, and was only really challenged by Ichigo, Nnoitra, Yammy, the fake Yhwach (Lloyd something), and Unohana (temporarily). Granted, he does take off the eyepatch in pretty much all of those battles, but he's powerful either way. The new scenes for the Unohana battle also seem to suggest that Zaraki is the second Kenpachi, and he's only considered the 11th because of the number of captains *assuming* that name. He's the 11th captain with the title, but the second to actually be truly given it.

Renjis old Bankai was broken too. Byakuya broke it during their fight in the Soul Society arc. And remember a broken Bankai can never be restored so he was using a nerfed/broken Bankai the whole time.

Remember, a Shinigami can begin to unlock their Bankai only after they can begin to manifest their Zanpakutou's spirt in the external world (instead of meeting in the inner world). Each of the 'honeys' and Mera are the externally manifested spirts of a different Zanpakutou. Kinda shows the Blade God's mastery to maintain that continuously for so many. And does this also mean that he developed a rapport with even the Asauchi to manifest them, but without 'tainting' their blank canvases with his spiritual pressure?

Something I haven't seen anyone really talk about though is when Kenny starts "melting away", I'm sure nobody has talked about it since it was so obvious but, him melting away was his sense of danger or 'fear', it was giving him almost "ecstasy". Then when he starts ACTUALLY melting away he turns into HALF of a skeleton. This is important as he's found that feeling, the feeling Unohana originally gifted to him, but this time he doesn't have to hold back, THIS. Is Battle... but, then it pans to Unohana, and she was a FULL skeleton, remember she said she was weak, and we know Kenny is a monster. Once he grasped it, he passed her and thus... RIP Yachiru, the first Kenpachi.

A lot of people seem to miss out on this, the reason Zaraki has to kill her isn't just because they're both Kenpachi and Kenpachi's fight to the death, it's because *not* killing her is what led to him suppressing all his strength in the first place, he'll never truly surpass her and unlock his full strength if he doesn't kill her.

Well if y’all remember ichigo never had a asauchi he got his soul reaper power/zanpakuto from rukia transferring her power to him. So it make sense that he said that ichigo never battled with an asauchi cause he never had one to begin with. So therefore my real question is how the hell did he get his zanpakuto from?? Can you have a zanpakuto without going through the process of the asauchi 😬?! To be continued…

Minazuchi is such a cool Bankai yet the anime still kept it super vague. When I read the manga I thought that clashing with the blade gave you so much pain that you felt yourself melting away, that the skeleton was a metaphor for Zaraki blacking out and his body moving on instinct. But now that I think about it, since the Shikai is the friendly manta ray whose stomach acids heal you, the Bankai must be the same thing but offensive. Unohana literally throwing acid around and high speed healing so that the battle can keep going. Now that is some twisted healing.

Zangetsu was simply never a Zanpakuto in the first place, but something entirely different. Just like how Arrancars and Quincies use their own thing instead of a Zanpakuto, so does Ichigo.
