Josie, you should take piano lessons! it's never too late. My university degree was in classical piano and I'm telling you; you would enjoy it so much. There are plenty of wonderful simple pieces you could be playing in under a year. I've never had any talent for painting but always wanted to do it so I've been practicing with watercolour. I'm terrible at it but it's so relaxing. It's not about perfection, it's about how something makes us feel.
Josie your content is so well thought out its perfect 🎀 Autumn a favourite time of the season 🍂🍁🍃🍁 Love the light rain golden leaves 🍂🌾🍂 cinnamon rolls etc but of course your mac and cheese looked scrumptious 🎀🎀
Cobwebs are tangled and are abandoned which collect dust. Spiders webs are more sophisticated and elegant in structure to collect prey. Great having a tidy up of your makeup. Love your Mac and Cheese. Thank you for sharing ❤
This is just what I needed, I am 100% ready for Autumn! Feeling so cozy with your vlog and my mouth is watering from your passionate mac n cheese talk 🍂🍁
There must be something in our DNA about harvest season! The call of autumn in our souls. My business was very busy this summer so although it is still 90+ outside in Southern Colorado, we didn't get to the lake as much as I needed, and summer feels unfulfilled! But the changing light and cooler nights means harvest is approaching!!
I live about 2 hours north of Nashville so our autumn is still a month away. It’s going to literally be 99 degrees here this week! I’m ready for autumn - my favorite season.
We’ve been having bad winter like weather here in the pnw which is totally not typical in August. Warming up this week again nice to have a last hoorah of warm weather before the seasons turn 😊
I. CANT. WAIT. for autumn to show up here. the older I get the more i tire of summer faster - the heat, the humidity. we vacationed for a week higher north in August and that first night of COOL was THE BEST EVER. I've never enjoyed or appreciated a cool night so much as that one.
Many years ago, we had M & S in Canada 🇨🇦. I remember that they sold mostly clothing and frozen food items. I loved being able to buy some British items. Cool weather here in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦 . After weeks of hot weather, as warm as 40.5 C or 105 F, it is suddenly cool and much needed rain.
Beautiful, relaxing vlog 🧡🍂🤎 Autumn is my absolute favourite season and in the Sunday of Summer, August I get that lovely feeling as things start to change 🧡🍂🤎 Thank you Josie, Best wishes Karen 🧡
Probably late summer, early autumn is my favourite time of the year.I was just thinking the same in Buckinghamshire, I can smell autumn in the air xxx Looking fabulous as ever xxx
Thank you for the wonderful vlog, Josie! I do love these vlogs that are a bit more down to earth and "honest", if you will. But then again, I love all your content. Much love!
@@mlayne130 Thank you for finding his name. I am now a follower. @josieldn, you and Charlie should create a Spotify playlist. I adore The Piano Guys, Okiem, Alexis Ffrench, the Brooklyn Duo, and The Cello Duo. I have found all of these fantastic artists because of you
I actually love your day to day bits like Marks and Spencer visits. I live in the US but "lived" in the UK for 6 weeks during a Fulbright and Marks and Spencer came to have a special place in my heart. Great to visit it vicariously through you :)
Summer is a countdown to autumn for me. I’ve already got the autumn decor out. 😆🙌🏻 September - December are my fave months! So cosy! It’s felt like autumn here in the north east of England for a few weeks now 🤍🧡 🍂
Yes, please do a short for the classic mac n cheese - I made one for the very first time in the winter as I was inspired by you, so would love to see your recipe.
Josie, it’s completely normal to get decision fatigue whilst decluttering. It’s often hundreds (or thousands) of conscious decisions you’re having to make and that is exhausting! I’m a professional organiser and declutter coach in Oxfordshire and I had to reduce my full day session for decluttering to 6 hours maximum because clients couldn’t do longer. Even make-up that isn’t (usually) sentimental is tiring and clothes can bring up all sorts of emotions. You’ll definitely need that yummy mac and cheese to keep you going 🙌🏻 Also, for the odd socks, why don’t you grab yourself a lovely little basket and keep it in your utility room or wherever makes sense, for socks missing their partners. Then if you’ve not come across the other after a month or so, recycle them in textiles waste. Lots of people use them as cleaning rags or do crafty things with them too! Thank you for your wonderful Vlogs xx
Hey so I’m regards to the dior blush, it’s simply oil build up/residue from mixing products when you apply the blush to skin. If you take clear packaging tape and press down, then pull off, it takes off the residue and it is good as new!
I can’t wait for your Autumn fashion especially those feminine dresses. I had my Summer away in the Cote De Azur\South France with my kids so we definitely feel it was a great one. Watching your vlog with a cuppa.❤☺️
I was so pleased to see you tidy up and cleanse your makeup etc. It honestly would drive me crazy. 😂😂 such a lovely area that should fill you with joy not dread. So keep focused you will appreciate the end result ❤
I always fantasize about being able to play Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu! I can only play the easier pieces. 😩 Bring on Autumn 🍂 North Carolina summers are brutal!
Making an autumnal soup with lots of fresh ginger, root veg and bone broth so I can cosily sip away on it watching the vlog. It's not officially autumn until the equinox on 22nd, but there's a chill in the air and I'm surrendering to the seasonal shifts!
Totally relate to the beauty products being sent out and trying to work though them all.🙂 Really enjoyed watching and feeling excited for more Autumn content.💕
I'm SOOO already in that autumn mood as well here in New England!🤎🧡🍂🌾I feel the same as you when I hear the song "Dance For Me Wallis" by Abel Korzeniowski. I so wish I was a talented classical musician!❤🙏🏻Thanks for your beautiful inspiring vlog..... your hair is so glorious, healthy and long!!
Im always in awe of the scenery you have so close to you! Loved the foraging scene as well! I wish I knew of places to go forage things like blackberries in my home town :)
We've not had the best Summer in the UK this year, but almost every Summer it goes cold for a week or so around mid-late August and everyone gets excited for Autumn and then there's nearly always a heatwave in September! I am excited for Autumn fashion in particular, but I am still holding out for those last days of Summer still to come!🙏 Lovely vlog Josie, bizarrely, I actually quite enjoy watching people go food shopping! 🤣💗
Practically no summer for you guys 2024, but your countryside is gorgeous in the fall and you had some wonderful vacations! Fall fashion is the best too!❤❤❤
We’ve actually had a lot of hot humid weather in the UK but interspersed with rain and dull days! Were going to get some more heat over the next couple of weeks, September is usually a lovely month in England 😃
Oh, I am so happy for you. Because at 9:15 PM here in Dallas Texas it is still 87°F. We did get some rain and some portions of Dallas County today which is the first in a while but otherwise it is just hot. Very hot.
Yes Josie, you did a mac and cheese demo a while back. The addition of the mustard has always been my secret ingredient and I remember the vlog when you discovered that trick when you lived in London!!
Josie, I'm so jealous that you get to pick blackberries for free - none here in South Carolina. They are in our grocery stores but very pricey! I look forward to your video on making Mac & Cheese.
Magnifique video ❣️ I took note of the Mc & cheese, because, we have to deal with the Queen of the Mc & cheese.. it’s the ultimate, with the best cheeses plus the pumpkin … OMG ..yummy ✨ 🙏 💖 Thank you so much Josie 😃🌺🤩😘
Hi Josie, loved your butternut squash Mac and cheese segment, I've never had it and you have tempted me I have to make it. It looks delightful, can't wait. M
I fantasise about playing the piano or violin in front of a huge audience 😂 so you’re not alone .. I believe we’re having a heat wave next week so you’ll have to hold off on Autumn for a bit and I’m off to Tuscany for a wedding for a week so I’ll look forward to Autumn when I come back 🩷
Hi Josie, Bechemal sauce is one of the 5 mother sauces. You use it as a base to create something of your own, like a cheese sauce. Cool idea since making a roux and having cream on hand to make a sauce is not always quick or convenient. This seems much quicker, although you seem pretty accomplished at making your own:}
With you on Mac'N'Cheese Josie. I make mine in a very similar way to you and use the same mix of cheese but also add a very finely grated shallot to the roux before cooking out and and add cayenne rather than paprika, also a heaped teaspoon of English mustard to the sauce. Autumn is my favourite time for year to cook. We still have the remains of summer produce - broad beans, late raspberries, nectarines, plums, squashes, field mushrooms etc - yum!
Our blackberry season is late spring & early summer here in Charleston, but my boss just gave me his blackberry bush. I have only ever picked wild blackberries, so we’ll see how I do with this bush (& whether the deer leave us any) if we have a harvest next year!
Josei, have you ever thought of doing a Mac and Cheese cookbook?. I love Mac and Cheese too but I don't know how to add those different ingredients that you do. I hope this recipe is included below. Sounds yummy!
Your makeup looked stunning in the first few vlog minutes, I like the stronger contrast against your skin tone. I like the outfit as well, specially the dress and the bag. You should be an ambassador for the dresses’s brand, it’s so you, set in the country side 😉 I too feel autumn’s coolness in the air, specially mornings and evenings. I am one of those that won’t miss the summer, let Autumn come pls, my brain functions better with cooler temperatures 😅🤗🍁🍂 and I appreciate candle lit evenings 🕯 Would you do a “what to wear” for days like you experienced, cool in the shades yet toasty in the sun? 😘
Cable Knit! Love the silk blouse, so pretty. And, seeing how much work you put into your garden is truly inspiring. Do you have any particular recipes or ways you freeze or can your abundant harvest for the upcoming months? Curious how much freezer space you need for a garden your size.
Mac n Cheese is in your DNA 😍😍😍 and I blame you for my late in life obsession with it now (since I was 62 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and started following you at the beginning of lockdown m?
Loving the autumn content though I am a bit behind 😅 those M&S almond pastries are divine we always have some in the freezer! Also those aren't acorns, they're hazelnuts! You've found a hazelnut tree! My grandma had two in her garden and as children I'd always eat them straight from the tree after cracking them open with a rock. Surprisingly delicious when not dried 😅
I’m from Sydney Australia and our weather is ‘changing’ too. We are going into spring and our days are all in the high 20s for the next week! I’ve actually already been sunburnt just going to the clothes line - our sun here is so harsh
I always face M&S frozen pastries for when people drop in - I used to get them from a local farm shop but the M&S ones are fab - and no waste. I freeze my own herbs and stock - but the M&S stuff isn’t bad at all.
Josie, I know I’ve mentioned this before; you need to take piano lessons! And think of playing on a grand piano stationed in your beautiful home! Talent is worth more than any antique . (Suggestion from a pianist with a grand piano and someone who gardens - a total zen combination and both feed your soul and brain health ) 🥰🎶🎹
Lovely autumn vlog, though not ready for it yet as summer only been here a nanosecond. However have already made blackberry jam from berries in garden. Also ordered my Aran jacket from Ireland.
