The creator of Final Fantasy(not even going to try to spell his name from memory) has played FFXIV. This was an extremely emotional moment for him.

You can't blame them too much in regards to the LB, since Tank limit breaks are only used in like 4 fights in the entire game, and one of those is an Ultimate. Also, in case you missed it, if a DPS tries to limit break him when he isn't casting something, he'll use the Paladin's Hallowed Ground and take 0 damage for 10 seconds. Spooky stuff.

Don't know if this was made clear but the duty finder "summoning" was not you taking over the summoning invocation. Azem's crystal is imbued with a similar magic to summon allies to fight alongside you since Azem, The Traveler, was a wanderer that protected people across the old world and the creator of the crystal felt it was a fitting magic for their dear friend.

Even after going through the full vod, it's the lmao edits that make the highlights worth watching. 😂

To answer Garret's question: "Do you think chat is more 'this is staged' or "for the love of god someone tell them what to do?'" That looks more like "Yup, normal roulette run" to me. There's a multiple different ways for the party to fail this trial and it's not uncommon for a roulette run to go like this especially if it's a healer or tank that's new to it. I just go in expecting a party wipe or two and it's all cool beans.

5.3 always hits me super hard...and it's a relentless over and over again hit that doesn't end until the final post credit scene! I still think this is a masterpiece that has yet to be beaten in it's overall glory.

This is such a neat little extra that is often overlooked cuz of the HARSH active time and the lb bars but it is so cool. And I may have made a macro for my paladin...

Fun fact: During the dialogue choice at 48:50, those playing with French subtitles (and the French players in general) got the added bonus of _calling him Raha_ on the top option Not Exarch. Not G'raha. _Raha._ Showing a huge amount of familiarity (as dropping the tribal prefix for Seekers is reserved for close friends/family and companions) and reminding him of who he once was. Of who he has to become once more for his spirit vessel to work.

This trial has a lot of significance to me personally. Couple years back, my dog died right in my arms. Afterwards, I grabbed a beer, sat down hit random roulette, and was crying like mad. When it popped, I ended up in here. With 3 sprouts. I spent the run crying, doing new ie call outs, and my DRG. rotation, all at the same time. It was a really rough run, but downed him in one attempt. I've never seen this fight the same way since.

There is actually a subtle hint to the tank LB. The gauge gets drained when he sends you to the void, then fully charged while he's charging his LB.

I know I'm late to this party (I'm going through all the videos, so I'm playing catch up), but I definitely love the fact that your mods are on board with you guys figuring things out blind. As Kyle said: "The organic experience." I adore watching people try and figure it out and I would gladly waste 5 hours in a sitting helping new people figure out a fight without telling them a thing (unless they ask). I once taught an entire party of 7 that were blind for Ravana extreme (back when it was relevant and you couldn't even buy mounts with the currency), and they did want a play by play rather than figure it out as they go, but it was so rewarding to teach a full party from the beginning, phase by phase, on how to complete the fight since some folks just don't learn as well through video guides. I love sprouts. I wish I could adopt them all. Love the organic struggle, you two. I hope you keep that theme going for Endwalker! :)

Many people don't register that if you use DPS LB3 against him he'll counter with Hallowed Ground to eat it, you can only DPS LB3 him while he is occupied.

If you want to experience these different content in an unique way, I'd suggest trying out Minimum IL, No Echo! They're great fun and let you figure out mechanics without having the stacking advantage of your IL or the Echo
