Eric Prince’s “re-colonization” statement suggests to me that he is concerned about his parasitic criminal enterprise (called “investments” in the West) in Afrika. Why would you need to make that announcement if you are already quietly and successfully extracting the mineral wealth out of Afrika? The events in the Sahel (Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso) have exposed the vulnerability of his criminal enterprise and his comment is a public request to the colonial / imperialist powers (primarily the U.S., France and Britian) to provide security and support assets. Let's see how the colonial / imperialist powers respond.

Enslavement from the standpoint of controlling lives is relevant in this context. Companies, in my opinion, not countries, are the new superpowers. And any country would be wise not to allow large corporations to monopolize any part of their nation's future. It’s a tough call because you forego the rapid improvement for the slow growth but retain the control and rewards within your sovereignty.

You're not fear mongering, your'e onto something. Anyone who knows some history and can think systematically can make intelligent guesses about what the prospect of European technological expansion will mean for African people. Bear in mind that Ai, for instance, already has racial-based bias embedded in its systems. I've personally seen this bias play out in one of the major prompt-to-image platforms.

I was somewhat conflicted in even responding to this comment, but I will. It's disappointing to me that "we" default to a position of powerless victimhood. The mention of AI being racially biased is defaulting to this lack of self-agency. The fact is there is no singular "AI". Large Language Models (LLMs), which is what AI is based on, is a programming _Model._ It's not some Terminator or Matrix movie cyber Villain. The most well known AI platform is ChatGPT, which is developed by OpenAI, ChatGPT isn't open source (license free), but nearly everything it outputs is based on open knowledge, programmed in python code. Because of this, there are literally hundreds of "open Source" (Free for anyone to use as they wish) models, and even a few that outperform ChatGPT. Meaning YOU, I, or _anybody else on the planet_ can run, operate, develop, and *Train* an AI compute model/system that YOU, I, or anybody Completely Controls. There was a mention of prompt-to-image, AKA "Image Generator. AI image generators utilize *trained* artificial neural networks to create images. There's that action word again: *Trained.* Again, anyone, or any team, or any group can train _Their_ AI as they see fit. Contrary to Western indoctrinated belief, "Europeans" are NOT at the forefront of this technology, nor do they "control" it. Bottom line (and I am speaking in general here, not to any one individual), it seems that "we" are so Generationally brainwashed to beleive that some other ethnicity has god-like control over us, that "we" mentally surrender and become frightened little do-nothing for ourselves conspiracy theorist. "We" have power and control, if "we" _Chose_ to accept it.

And I know there is the added pressure of countries like France being determined to keep control over what does not belong to them. Initially I started with studying culture and soft power of a nation, then wondered what kind of soft power (on any level) each African nation held. Understanding its digital infrastructure and who controls it, you can see that kind of data of culture/soft power. It'll also give you an idea of what foreign soft power influences local markets with its digital distribution networks.

The countries that are being lax about the technological things going on will be in legitimate danger of digital enslavement. It seems this presentation _Assumes_ the peoples of Africa are intellectually incapable of building their own digital infrastructure? Among other global locations, we host servers in the National Internet Data Center (NIDC) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I beleive this facility is about 10-years old, and It is wholly owned by the Tanzanian government, as is the fiber networks in Tanzania. In terms of technology, software development is 100% democratized. We subcontract many software developers from various parts of Africa. IMO, what _Isn't democratized_ is the mental-bondage much of the Diaspora suffers from. I am typing this comment using a Rwandan _Manufactured_ Mara smartphone. It does everything an Apple iPhone does - that one needs - at 1/5th the price. But the Diaspora would rather buy Asian manufactured phones from Apple - a company that hates them - than buying anything made by people who look like them. The issue is not "digital enslavement", the issue is, and has always been; "Mental enslavement."

@@bambooqueue9093 In a sense you're correct. However, you understand the difference between being passive and being Active. By definition, Passive means "accepting or allowing what happens or what others do, without active response or resistance." Thus people don't "know about the alternatives" because they are not actively _Looking_ for alternatives. The American Diaspora in general are comfortable being blindly led by a marking narrative that holds them (us) in contempt. It's easy to go to MacDonalds and make their shareholders wealthier, but it does take a little effort to find that small restaurant, owned and operated by people of a similar background, and patronize them. I searched for and found Mara and my research confirmed - to my satisfaction - their product was acceptable, and for me, I _Immediately_ ordered the device... on GP. I will actively reward the venture just on the basis that I want them - specifically them - to succeed. But most of us don't think like me.

The risk of misinformation and propaganda is high, but the opportunities for alternate black voices ignored by traditional media is also high and should be exploited.

What the African countries really need is a central currency that is initially interest rate as well as debt free and distributed by a centralized bank to compete with the US dollar, English pound, and the European Euro. That way those nations can retain their autonomy, but yet also allow foreign companies and even military engineers acting as commissioned contractors to aid with building their infrastructure, promote the modernized development and wellbeing of their populaces, and allow them to both stabilize as well as promote their economies. The Saudi Arabian and various other Middle Eastern countries should be permitted to trade with the African continent, but not impose their religious ideologies on them and strip them of the free born civil rights granted to them by both nature and their people’s will. Oil from the Middle East could easily be diverted to the African continent, keeping the Middle Eastern countries happy with knowing they’re still having a crucial role as well as profit in the global economy. The US can then divert much of its attention and military spending away from the Middle East to focus on promoting economic and political relations within the South American continent to help keep the US dollar stable and to help promote it. Africa is a crucial continent not only with its vast resources but with the fact that it was the birthplace of our evolutionary ancestors and even the human race, otherwise known Homo sapiens, themselves.

Africa has to invent its own tech before they can consider someone else's invention a revolution. The West technology is actually really slow and bloated, there is need for faster and smaller computing machines, something they cant really seem to be able to do in the West. Their architectures are slow, depend on many "protocols". If Africa could come up with a faster, smaller more direct architecture of computing, they are immediately on par, especially if they also guard it. Something that the West needs more than gold and oil is computing, they need it more than they need warmth in winter.Africa can leverage the creativity of its youth to be the best at computing, and immediately they will be the threat they need to be to get ahead. We are already the most creative people, we just need to know where exactly to apply it in a geopolitical global economy.

Good subject, but the focus is off (in my opinion). Big companies want users' data to understand their needs and then sell it to those interested. Most African countries lack the purchasing power that interests these companies. Apple doesn't even have stores in Africa; they absolutely do not prioritize care about african's data. While some have luxury items(car, phone, gadgets, etc), the masses cannot afford them. That being said, my concern regarding this digital revolution is that Africa is mostly unprepared. Electricity is not universally accessible, and we witness how social media is impacting Gen Z negatively. The same is happening in Africa, with people creating low-quality content for entertainment that distracts from important issues. The problem is that, unlike in the Western world where most systems are already established, Africa is lagging behind and needs industrialization. Additionally, black Africans are primarily consumers, unable to produce what they consume and thus dependent on the Western world. The masses aren't ready for this technology; some individuals can't even read but own a phone. Lastly, I don't believe it's solely the fault of the Western world. I am somewhat tired of conspiracy theories. While they may play a role in our challenges, we also allow them to do so. When Western companies like Orange hold monopolies because there is no strong local African alternative, there is a problem. It's not Africa's fault for our situation, but it is our responsibility to instigate change. If not, it will become our generation's fault.
