Why did you say that Simone rejects schools of thinking such as "Marxism" ? His theory supports equality in every way. Please elaborate if I'm missing something :)
Simone de Beauvoir rejected Liberalism because she believed that liberalism prioritizes individualism and individual freedom over responsibilities towards the community and society. She argued that liberalism does not address the root causes of social and economic inequalities and fails to recognize the structural inequalities that lead to marginalized communities. Similarly, Simon de Beauvoir also rejected Marxist schools of thought because she believed that Marxist theory fails to recognize the complexity of human existence, particularly the role of gender and sexuality in shaping social relations. She also criticized Marxist theories for prioritizing economic determinism over other forms of social and cultural determinants, which makes Marxist theories limited in understanding gender and race-based oppression. Finally, Simone de Beauvoir also rejected Photoanalysism, a form of structuralist literary theory because she believed the theory only focused on the meaning of language and ignored the social and historical contexts that shape our interpretations of the text. She argued that literature is not a product of isolated individuals but is reflective of the politics and society of their time. Therefore, understanding literature requires a deeper engagement with social and historical contexts than what Photoanalysism affered.
