There are actually a few mega evolutions that don’t hurt the Pokémon. This includes Blaziken, Swampert and Sceptile who ultimately have nothing but benefits upon mega evolution. Sceptile gets a nuke tail which effects he is immune too, Blaziken is ultimately simply Blaziken 2, and Swamperf who has more bulk and much stronger. No sources canonically say these Pokémon are in any pain, and instead of surviving, are thriving.

I cannot watch that episode with mega lucario,seeing it nearly killing pikachu made me very uncomfortable

Mega evolution is the coolest thing in Pokemon

Fun fact is that the ability Magic bounce is a hidden ability except for 3 Megas, including Absol had it gained another type combined with that ability it would have been way better.

I honestly thought mega evolution was form by the friendship of the Pokémon and its trainer that’s why they’re so willing to go thru an immense amount of pain just to be stronger

Technically, there are two Pokémon that don’t a need mega stone because in the genesct movie mewtwo was able to mega evolve into mewtwo Y without it

Gen 6 is the best generation of the franchise. It’s definitely better than Gen 9. As I’m playing the game I’m looking at everything and saying “wow, X did this so much better”

I doubt that it would happen, but in Legends Z-A it be cool if one of our Pokémon goes berserk while in mega form, and attacks us which leads to us having to fight our own beloved Pokémon/survive against it while trying to figure out how to calm them down.

Out of any gimmick in the 3D era, Mega Evolution is the coolest. I still prefer Pokémon without Evolution gimmicks, but this is the one I think is the most natural.

I know there is that one pokemon movie (with volcanion i think) where some evil guys or whatever used a different method to mega evolve some pokemon, so it can be that the research of mega evolution is made to find ways to mega evolve pokemon without the damage that it causes in the pokemon and trainer. Sinse pokemon legends arceus had the arceus phone, maybe in legends za you will have a weird amulet/item that makes mega evolving not hurt the pokemon. That would impress the guys that could mega evolve at the time, sinse their mega evolution process damaged the pokemon, and that would start a research on mega evolution, wich would eventually lead to the mega evolution that we have in gen 6 and the anime, where the pokemon doesn't get hurt( or at least as much)

If you really think about it Kyogre and groudons forms are called (Primal) meaning those forms we're probably there strength in there prime meaning that was there base forms back than (Maybe)

I have a theory and thers true mega evolution and false the true one is that both the trainer and the Pokémon have such a deep connection that they don't go berserk and false is were you just give them it with no bound

I like how you try and use the dex entries to back up your claim yet completely disregard the Let’s Go P/E dex entries which contradict the S/M ones by not mentioning anything negative about mega evolution. Mega evolution hurting pokemon is very clearly just an excuse for why they were trying to get rid of it in the game that introduced a brand new mechanic they were trying to push forward for everyone to love. Yet even then, if mega evolution was such a bad thing for the pokemon it wouldn’t be coming back in a brand new game after three three other gimmicks were introduced and left behind in the games they were created for. And even disregarding that, there’s no reason for mega evolution to hurt pokemon while Z-moves, dynamax, and terastallization don’t despite the fact all three are the same as mega evolution in that they use external power to give a temporary boost to a pokemon. It should be either all do or don’t hurt a pokemon, not just mega evolution because they tried to get rid of it in S/M.

I heard that the Charizardite X was man made and that's why Charizard has two mega forms. There is president for mega stones being artificially created via Mewtwo's mega stones. Mewtwo itself is a man made Pokémon and as such wouldn't have a natural mega stone. If two mega stones for Mewtwo can be artificially created, then creating a second mega stone for Charizard isn't out of the question

I remember my dad tell me once " every good thing in the world has a cost" mega evolution perfectly describes that Yes u get a bad ass pokemon But then they are in pure suffering

My guess is that considering pokemon can go berserk due to mega evolution, they'll probably have mega evolved wild pokemon who are suffering from this be the equivalent to the noble Pokémon. Our mc will probably be a special human who can bond with these mons and help soothe the wild energy inside them. But hey, that's just a theory.

I can understand Mewtwo (favorite Pokemon, probably completely biased take on my end.) having two Mega Evolution because, again, he's a man-made Pokemon designed to be the strongest, **two** forms for different situations is reasonable. But **CHARIZARD** is just a regular-ass Pokemon, there's no real in-universe explanation that I can think of.

What didn't make sense for me with the whole thing with Korrina's Lucario is that Lucario had a pretty strong bond with Korrina before the whole fiasco with Mega evolving began. Hell, Korrina even considered her Lucario her "Soulmate." So, saying that the reason why Korrina's Mega Lucario lost control is because of a lack of a proper bond with his trainer doesn't add up. We even had Lysandre's Gyarados Mega evolving, which did not lose control of its form despite a much worse bond with its trainer, Team Flare's heartless leader.

In the Kaloas series it was said that the very first mega Lucario was formed on the Gyms Island if my memory is correct. So maybe they found out which stones and were trying to implement them into making their Pokémon stronger for good and bad and to figure out which Pokémon can and cannot mega evolve

Both it being harmful and neding a strong bond can be true at once For example, the Rotom dex is lying or the dex entries were based off of people forcing pokemon to mega evolve, similar to Team Rocket's radio fiasco Or the pokemon know that it will be painful(like all metamorphosis is), but they trust their trainer enough to know that it will only be temporary

Don’t get me wrong I love the designs of the mega Pokémon but I don’t think I have used it more than a few times because it never goes well and the Pokémon faints by a single attack anyway

Mega Pinsir does not seem to suffer badly from Mega Evolution, as it seems Pinsir can focus the energy to its wings, granting it flight and making it happy. Perhaps Pinsir is the key to understanding how to control and use mega energy.

Just a little observation, i don't think it was the blast that created that alternate timeline, i think it was actually the start of the war itself, since it's mentioned that the war never happened in the non-Mega timeline. Besides, there're countless timelines in the Multiverse, the Ultra Ruin, the worlds where Team Raimbow Rocket leaders come from, the ones where Paradox Pokémon come from, etc...
