They are ALL Great! Great Scott! O baby! Oh Mercy baby! Let's do the clothing optional Jerk! I start first baby! Let's Go! i Vamos, Andale! Round & round we go!! I never will stop, I put this video & my dancing on a loop! Have mercy follow me, please! I'm shaking, dancing & flying at the same time! OOO My! Feliz tiempo!
Quincy Jones did an incredible job selecting these four men to record “Secret Garden”, but El DeBarge flows through a song like no other male singer since Sam Cooke. El DeBarge has a vocal range in the stratosphere.
Claudia Tucker I agree regarding El. I enjoy his ballads most of all. Glad I got a chance to see him when the group Debarge was still together. Bonnie was absent because she was pregnant was the only let down.
Yes. The only other guy that could sing better that El was his brother, Bobby, who died years ago. RIP. Find the song, "You and I" by Switch. Bobby's vocals are amazing. He had an unbelievable tenor voice.
They are Great. For the body of work Ronnie Isley is so unrated. Ron has been lead singing for over 60 years. I've seen him in person, he sounds better than his records!
This was the jam! When I heard it on the radio? I ran to the record store and bought the album! Easy Listening Music. Can't go wrong with Producer The One and Only Mr. Quincy Jones! 😎😎😎
Today's music is still a form of art, I will acknowledge, since it's someone's creativity. However, there's not as much emphasis on real vocal or instrumental talent since computers can replace both, and that's too bad, so damn sad 😢
@@MrIntertainment NOT only was James hitting those notes, he was battling a respiratory illness at the time. YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO HIS MUSIC..BECAUSE IF YOU DID, YOU WOULDN'T HAVE MADE this comment.
I would have to give that credit to the older James & Quincy! They seem like they want the younger singers to be great like them. They are good men & mentors!
Ummm...Sho Ya' Rightttt💓💓💓Out cold by the middle of it. I watched this when it 1st aired on tv. Used to play their video to this song faithfully. Omg timeless!!! Love these men. This performance has "Stayin Power"🎤🎤🎤🎤😄
I fully agree! Yet there's a bad duplication as we speak😖🙄Since someone just had to touch this masterpiece, let me ask. Where's my guys from the 90's/early 2000 SHAI, SILK, Boyz 2 Men to put some respect to these legends?
@@nicoledyson7045 I'm sorry but I have to disagree. Sometimes you have to leave the original alone and not try to duplicate it because it is perfect. Quincy Jones was a genius to bring Barry, Al, El, and James together for this project. The first time I heard Raheem and the other guys make the attempt to duplicate this song, I listened for about 1 minute and turn the station. Nope!!!!!
@@zanthus7 Exactly! These guys were flawless on this project. Without even trying hard. Everyones voice complimented each other beautifully on the original. Only difference between me and you when i 1st heard it, i listened to the whole thing in shock Lol and omg i didnt even care enough to look up whoever is covering it😖Start to finish they were all over the place, trying to hard, yelling in spots it wasnt necessary, not 1 with a naturally deep voice like Barry to bring it together. Which made the speaking part sound extra wack on this track. Oh dear!!! I can go on, but gonna leave it here🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️
The brilliance, the GENIUS of Mr. Quincy Jones....who else but? This song, NGO...Never Gets Old...part of my Saturday Night 'Love Is' on Facebook; thank you, El DeBarge for the upload of this beautiful song, goes right to the soul. RIP James Ingram. RIP Barry White, THE Maestro. Blessings all...
This was an era when slow jams were so pure and sweet to listen to. How I miss that era with those quality singers. R.I.P James Ingram and the legendary Barry White.
@@virginiacooper5137 No Virginia, I don't believe we will. We just need to make a playlist, have a few cold ones with that special someone and slow groove into the night. Peace.
HEY DORIS, I grew up on Barry, El, and Ingram..those voices are SO DISTINCT AND MOVING....that baritone even after surgery is DISTINCT AND INFECTUOUS, put it to the right music and MAGIC
El is handsome too! My female voice coach said that since I was handsome & that I should use that to connect with my audience (girls & women). She said that would help me connect better tan other male singers that were better singers than me. She said goods singers can be dull if they have no stage presence, connection to the audience and no charisma!
Baby it’s getting ready to be 2023 and this song still makes me proud to be alive and go back down memory lane to when songs like this sent chills down your spine and made your heart full of love ❤️ ❤❤❤❤❤
We will see nothing like this again 2020 to now and I can't think of any male singers that I really like especially when they're singing in a group that's not happening these days it's a lot of rap music nowadays I'm wondering how long that's going to last when is it going to end I Wish I Could Turn Back the Hands of time
I remember the night this was broadcast. My girlfriend and I had fallen asleep with the TV on. The melody was so beautiful, it woke me up. I then focused on the TV screen and was mesmerized by what I was witnessing. Totally blew me away. As I watched this performance and listened, I looked over at my girlfriend who was still sound asleep, I started to tear-up. I was overwhelmed by the moment with pure joy, love and romance. I knew right then and there that I was gonna marry her. Fast forward to a short time later,,,,,,,,,,,,,, this song was used in our wedding ceremony as an entrance with 3 guys coming down the isle (separately) to each of the solos and me making a grand entrance to Barry White's solo........... There wasn't a dry eye in the place. I loved this performance. I love this song. And I love my wife........ Thanks to Quincy for putting this production together. Thanks Al. Thanks James. Thanks El. And THANKS BARRY............sho ya right!!!
Barry is so natural and makes it seem easy and he's trying to encourage the younger singers to sing their best too! He's a GREAT not just a good singer!
This performance is just plain 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I remember when they first did. I can still watch it over and over! This group of men just complimented each other! The song is already one the greatest! But you can see how they loved doing this performance! It just gives me chills! El walked up on that stage so smooth! And Barry…that voice ! And that laugh! All their voices! May Barry and James continue to RIP!
I love his rough style. When I sing I try to sing like him & singers like him like Eddie & Gerald Levert, Levi Stubs, Ray Charles, Teddy Pendergrass etc.!
REAL VOICES! A GIFT! No synthesizers, no voice box, no studio backup needed. Awwwh this was a time where men had NO problems expressing themselves. Much Love❤
I was there too upstairs at the Shrine Auditorium in L.A at the Soul Train awards...I can't remember the year tho....oh yea AL B Sure was the only one lip syncing during that performance
So we got the great El DeBarge and James Ingram on this classic song together, and back in the 70's and 80's we had their phenomenal brothers the late great Bobby DeBarge (El older brother) and Phillip Ingram (James younger brother) giving us their unforgettable and unmatched vocal ranges and harmonies in the group "Switch." El DeBarge is so sexy and smooth.
Good Lord! There is an aphorism... 'Following In The Footsteps of Those Who Have Gone Before Us' Barry and James were living legends who still have what it takes. El and Al B represented the younger generation whose path was charted by those that came before them. We need to never forget that passing the torch is how we evolve and continually move forward.
El had on one of the sharpest outfits that I have ever seen. Perfect fit for his little body. They all look good, but El's fit was definitely custom made. 😉😉😉
Watching on Monday February 7, 2022 it still gives me the chills like it did when it was made. I LOVE this song and always will. R.I.P. Mr. Barry White and James Ingram. Blessing prayers and love o Al B Sure. Blessings, prayers and love to El DeBarge
