Even as an international fan I know this song is about the the South Korean ferri incident where the captain abandoned the ferry and all those children lost their lives. The video looks like a multiverse to show the parallels of those who lost someone in that tragedy and the sadness of of those who survived. There is symbolism in so many parts like the kids clothes heap, Jimin picking the sneakers from the water, Jungkook running to find someone, Jin looking up. One of the most beautiful songs

I've seen BTS live twice but they never performed this at those concerts. It's my goal to see them do this live. Amazing song, stunning mv and great reaction 😊

I don't know what this song represents, However when excepting an award for best song in 2017 Rm said he wrote this song while at a park sitting on a bench thinking of a friend.
@@dl7596 Yes I Have, However Rm is the one who wrote this song and also the one who made the speech after winning the award. He never mention anything connecting the song with that tragedy. I know how thoughtful they are about their songs and what they represent. There is no way he would have accepted that award and not mention such an event had the song been dedicate to it. Some Army will put a spin on what they think but that does not make it true. The 2017 MMA award speech is out there and I certainly believe what he says oppose to what a Army may want to create.
@@dani3640 You don't seem to be aware of how the not-so-free-South Korean government was cracking down on and blacklisting celebrities who spoke against the many governmental-related corruptions and specifically, that contributed to that unnecessary tragedy. BTS didn't want their growing success to be crushed and being the wordsmiths and creatives that they are, included many references that those familiar with the times would recognize. I think you are pretentiously ass uming a lot to have inside knowledge of the member's thoughts and their company's management to be proclaiming, " There is no way he would have accepted that award and not mention such an event had the song been dedicate to it. " Just because something wasn't said, doesn't mean it wasn't true. Like the Frog In The Well referenced in DDAENG, people too often don't realize that there are other factors and conditions outside of their little world.
@@dl7596 I am certainly not the one making assumptions. It seems that others are .S.K. may not be the most free country but there are creative ways to get around anything. RM once had controversy with the Chinese on something he said .He apologized because it was taken out of context. My point is first of all BTS is bigger than Idols in Korea they are international Icons. Their connection in the world is big. They are a part of fans all over the world and they have a platform that no other Korean has. They are on the world stage not only the Korean stage. At the end of the day it's not what he didn't say it's what he did say. He said he wrote the song at a park. sitting on a bench thinking of a friend. That friend could have been part of that awful event I do not know but I'm also not going to assume that was the case. Whatever the reasons they have never made any statement of any kind of that song other than the one I stated. With that I will leave it there. If in the future they want to comment on this issue they will.
