Daniel Kilov is a Memory Athlete. He is capable of memorizing a shuffled deck of cards in under five minutes, and over 100 random digits in five minutes. Having struggled with organizational skills as a symptom of his poor memory all through high school, Daniel sought out methods to improve his memory.
Daniel now espouses the value of memory techniques as a potential revolution in education, both in the traditional sense of the word and, because as a matter of historical fact, the art of memory formed the cornerstone of education from the time of the Ancient Greeks, up until the renaissance.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Nobody told me about this way to learn; I thought of it myself. This strategy of associating materials with interesting stories or words that you yourself create, was what got me through college with a GPA of 3.72. It’s not a 4.0, but it’s good for med school. Now, as an instructor, I share it with my students. I found that about 33% of the students were already learning by this style.

What do you do if you can't think of an image to associate the word to? There are a lot of strange words that i find are really hard to apply this technique with, especially verbs. Otherwise, it's a great technique!

it seems working pretty well when it comes to words related to concrete things, rather than that related to abstract things, related to actions, for instance. So what to do when learning verbs or adjectives in any other languages? I don't feel like it goes well with them.

It's hard for me to remember the differences and commons among diifferent culture. Sometimes it doesn't work out on multi-culture.

Chunk it Read summary or introduction first Next read questions and see if you can answer them Flip thru the chapter(first iteration) Reflect(2-3 minutes) Look at the questions and see you can answer them more detailed way Reread text, reflect and try answer question Relax Within next 24 hours try to recall what you have read(preferable write it down)
