Well, one thing is for sure: I can turn off the heat for the house tonight! My heart is so warm that I'm gonna have to open the windows! What a fantastic, heart-warming film. It makes me proud to be Irish! Thank you youtube for bringing us such classic masterpieces of simplicity and family goodness. This is the kind of film that makes me proud to be Irish, and happy to be human, and a wee bit 'silky'. God's blessings to all who've got to enjoy this wonderful, soon to be classic family film!

A charming little Irish Yarn, and refreshingly different from the movies we are normally served up. A good family film like they used to make a generation or two back.

This beautiful story makes me appreciate the life I have. I take my hat off to all of these fishermen and their families, who had to endure such hardships and never even moaned about it. Breathtaking cinematography makes this story so alive. Overwhelmingly outstanding film with especially the young actors doing a superb job. I'll never forget this.

It's a beautiful movie. The only complaint I have is that because of youtube censorship they had to remove the scenes where the toddler is shown naked. This creates holes in the story which don't make sense. And the end scene that almost makes me cry is ruined, where they are rescuing the naked child from the wild sea, where we can finally see the precious baby we have lost, the little boy we have been waiting for the whole movie to see embraced in one of his family's arms. I was really sad about that, sometimes the censorship is just crazy, we have let these sick people ruin everything and given them power.

Just love this movie. I checked it out of the library when VHS was a thing, and watched it several times. That must have been about 30 years ago. I am so enjoying watching it again.

Lovely enjoyable movie to watch. We need more movies especially about Irish myths and folklore. Definitely worth watching this movie.

Walking on a windy beach one day, down there north of Sligo somewhere, maybe up around Glencolumbcille - looking out at the islands, with an old roadmap of my Granda's, I figured out which one was Roan Inish.

I first saw this movie when I was 7 years old and I fell in love with Ireland and I think this is such a beautiful movie it’s one of my favorites and I love the legends of selkies and mythology like that and it’s brilliant how they mix in some magical aspects

Horrible, this is missing at least one part of the movie. I stopped there because why are they wasting my time not showing the entire movie. "The piece was clearly cut out and it's around the 53 minute mark where Fiona tells her cousin she's seen Jamie. In the real movie, the scene with Jamie picking flowers and fleeing when she calls to him is shown, but here it is censored. I'm going to assume other scenes are censored from the movie. I DO NOT recommend watching this until you find it in a place where you can see the entire film. I believe a good ten minutes or more is cut out of this film.

Jeni Courtney played an Impressive part in this Film,Considering it was her first movie having been selected from a list of several thousand child actors. The main prerequisites were that she be pale,under weight but with enough gumption to fit into the role.Although Being an American she carried off the accent very convincingly. She made two more movies and then ....nothing. what ever happened to her after 1998?

On NW corner of San Juan Island, where 2 strong currents come together bring food supply to seal group. They were always there darting out from shore to snatch a tasty morsel they had spotted! So every time I went through there in zodiac raft an scuba equipment, I would corkscrew through water on the currents. Didn't take any time when I had seal partners corkscrew through current with me. Then more an more joined until it was a grand ballroom dance in circles. Then one day they all vanished at once. I'm thinking shark, but a huge sea lion body was inches from me. All of us, divers, seals an sea lion will remember. We brought them fish from ghost nets underwater! Im in rubber raft when i hear orca breathing. I see hes coming straight at me. Im so relieved when he went past his kill zone to just consume me. When hes just inches from me, i cant gelp myself, i scratched his back ad hard as I could. He must have liked affection an attention because he power brake an stops, turns, looks right at me an nods his head several short moves. I point to him, are you! Then i point to me, inviting me! Then i point to water, into the water? His reaction was immediate flipping his entire head an chin onto the water. I treated it like a command, slide into water, right up to him! I scratch his chest when I got hit in the back. I turn to see his mate, another orca hitting me in the back. I turn put my arms around her nose, is this your mate? You must be luckiest guy on the planet! Look how beautiful she is? Still holding on to her, she takes me underwater an sonars the depth. Up come 3 more black shspes from the darkness, right at me. Now im surrounded by 5 orcas fin to fin around me. Do you like circles or straight fast balls. Thet waited their turn for affection until my hands were freezing and I had to get out. That hour chsnged my life!
