I don't have enough words to express how much this has meant to me today. I have had growing respect for Joel Osteen's messages. I know that he has had his critics and knows what he's talking about. This message has brought some hurtful experiences that I have had back to me and I know it's time to drop the hurt and continue on with the Lord. I have been appreciating these messages a great deal lately but this one is really special and it made me cry for joy. I don't have to carry that garbage around any more. It's something I already knew but this message brings it home to me even more. It has reminded me that it can be done.

My officemates are only good if they need something from me and they are all trying to impress the boss and so fake. Each one of them has something to say at the back of one another. Love this Pastor Joel! Do you or anyone on this thread have any tips or resources as to how to help a young child with this? It's so easy to say, "don't dwell on this, don't let it in....protect your secret place." But, for a young child...what tools can we give them or teach them on how to "let it go", how to "stay in peace", when words or actions spoken to or against them happen and really hurts their heart... how can they stop this pain? I would really appreciate some help with this, as I feel helpless for helping my daughter deal with these "hurtful" feelings. Thank you in advance!

Anne Hess I dealing with this with my son also. But I had to realize he is the Lords child just like I'm His daughter. So I gave my son back to God and asked Him for wisdom and ways to impact my child's life. I now spend more time with him and remind him daily I'm his best friend and he can tell me anything. We have a daily 30 min how u feel time. We then come up with ways to change. Just show her true motherly love.

Ur hugs, as a mother and a father is first impt as parents. V can only tell one important thing to our kids and teens, that those who don't know Jesus personally, will and possibly hurt you. Thn as Jesus did v have to do and try, win evil/bad frnds with good. As Jesus said to forgive ur enemies, and do gud to those who hurt u. So they feel ashamed of themselves and change, or even if dey don't change, its God who tks the vengeance, v dont have to do the bad part. Bcoz God is patient and kind and plus he has the power to forgive and save, and also has the power to destroy. So trust him at all times. And also reading the book of Proverbs will help a lot. Thn the book of John. Psalm 23 and 91 on regular basis. Plus other psalms. And Jesus miracles frm Bk of Matthew to Revelation. Daily 1 chpter. Thks God Bless you all.
