It works with a 2nd account too tho so you can just do that. I have two accounts and I only do free raid passes on the 2nd account. Thats 5 raids during a raid hour and if I caught a shiny, like shiny Groudon which is this weekend, I can do this.
I believe this 25 lucky trade counter was originally at 10 and niantic updated it to 25 in 2023, so if you haven’t traded old Pokemon in a while you should have at least 15 more garanted lucky trades!
Wdym, why would you be disappointed, if you think you can’t use this method because you already have 25 lucky Pokémon’s, you don’t have to worry, because it’s guaranteed for 25 times, regardless of the amount of lucky Pokémon you have traded already. So basically unless if you have traded and relieved over 25 2016-2018 Pokémon’s in 2023-2024, you should be able to get guaranteed luckies

You'd be surpised how mnay people don't know about guaranteed luckies - ask any player
Yes very disappointed every pogo tuber has said this it's definitely not something noone knows so def clickbait this my 1st daxi vid that gets thumbs 👎
Important note - it's true "receiver" can be over his 25limit and still get guaranteed lukcy trade, BUT keep in mind that the secret counter keeps ticking, by the end of 2024 niantic will probably include year 2019pokemon, and increase the counter by 10-15 like they have been doing for the last few years, so you can exhaust the new limit before it even takes effect
no you are right, shnundos are the rarest as there’s no way to hunt them or make them, just being extremely lucky in the wild, plus nundos are impossible to get during weather boost as far as I’m aware
@@tumaebacon2490 there is a website called "PKradar" that shows where hundos are near you, thats how I find all my hundos, I think the premium version snows nundos too but im not sure
@@Ham_Gaming7 my only shundo right now is my Darkrai, i was REALLY hoping for a shundo Rayquaza back in August 2023 for Mega Rayquaza debut lol best i got was a 97%
You’d be surprised how many people don’t know about this. Of course long time trainers will know this but there is a lot of people that started late and don’t know this.
I think it's worth noting that at the end of the year, Niantic seems to be increasing both everyone's counters and the range for these Pokémon to be considered old. When this started, it was only 'mons from the first two months of the game, so July and August of 2016. Then they extended it to the whole of 2016 and 2017, and now up until the entirety of 2018. The counter started from 10, then it was increased to 15, and as of (if i recall correctly) the last non Xmas event in December, to 25. If they don't change anything, by 2025, 2019 Pokémon should be included and our counters should go up by 5 or 10 more possible trades. This does a few things: - it allows you to do more, if you haven't gone over your counter by a lot by taking part in these trades without triggering them; - it allows a wider range of shinies to choose from, increasing the benefits for both trainers taking part in the trade.
actually having something useful to give is the hard part. i just use my very limited old pokes to get myself shinies i catch in my alt, the alt gets total rubbish, and i get a 12 13 12. the alt is only for boosting my main account so thats fine for me in a real scenario its very, very hard for the trade to be even, usually only one side would benefit. most likely the people having good stuff will have already used up their pokemon or their trades
FYI I’m pretty sure it’s either trade partners counter that affects IF it is a lucky trade. Not just the person giving away the old pokemon. Has happened to me with 2016 mons where I was under the cap but the other person had done more than the cap and the trade was not a lucky trade. When I dug into this back in 2020 I found it is both trade partners need to be under the cap to ensure it is a guaranteed lucky trade
@ no I’m saying I had less than the cap and the other person had more and it was not a lucky trade. What I meant was if either person is over the cap then it’s not guaranteed where as you said it’s just the person with the old pokemon
Imagine setting hard limits in a game for players...and not giving players anyway to track those limits. Kinda crazy there isnt even a trade counter in the game.
In Pokémon Go’s realm, a secret unfolds, "Shundos are the rarest Pokémon," so bold. To hunt for one, here’s a strategy clear, "Guaranteed lucky trades" will bring it near. "One of these trades does trigger," they say, "Both Pokémon being traded will go lucky" that day. Old Pokémon from 2016, '17, '18, trade them to make your luck serene. "If you don’t have old Pokémon," don’t despair, trade with someone who does, and prepare. "One person’s giving away an old Pokémon true," while the other’s shiny Pokémon shines through. "Both trainers' counters go up by one," it’s true, "If done less than twenty-five times," it’ll be lucky for you. "Shiny Pokémon always be trading," advised, for a Shundo’s chance, where luck is optimized.
I saw a previous video of you saying this and I try it, when I was in the 8th trade I stop getting guarantied lucky trades. I open a chat with niantic support and they say that it wasn't guaranteed that I was extremely lucky having 7 lucky trades in a row. Since then I never tried again, maybe now I give it a shot but I don't want to wasted or ruin a mon.
I have marked some legendaries and baby mons and regionals for this guaranteed lucky trades.. almost all of them from 2019 only. so when the year range is extended next time, i can finally finish dexing those lucky baby mon. I have only done 2 guaranteed lucky trades so far.. For a lucky dex collector, this method is the ultimate tool to fill rare lucky dex entries like regionals.
Good part about being such a loner solo player is that i am SURE i have like all of the trades available. Maybe i did one or two. I dont even have enough old pokemon to hit the 25 limit. Sadly theyre just all basic stuff, no shinies, just a couple event ones. Heres hoping to get a shundo one day
Another tip to add is to try and trade those with the minimum lucky Iv. I believe it's 12. That way your almost guaranteed that iv will go up and you don't have to worry about getting the floor from a lucky trade. Which has happened to me.
As long as you're below the 25 guaranteed lucky trades, then yes. Although I'm not sure how this works when there has to be 2 accounts at play. If one player hasn't done any of theirs and the other has done all of them, does the trade still become guaranteed lucky? The details around the counter honestly aren't clear from what I've been able to find.
@@leeolson5558this video literally explains that this is not the case and people like you keep talking BS. Amount of luckies that you own has literally nothing to do wit guaranteed lucky trade system
I have a lot of old 2017 pokemons transferred many of them because of bad IVs and recently got back into game and haven't traded Pokémons even once. Now I'll keep the oldies for trading and use this trick.
I actually CAN SEE the counter on my account. Because I knew about this when i came back, saved all my 2016, and now 2018 mons and older, and tagged EACH ONE I traded as 'Lucky' so I know my exact forced guarantee lucky trades.
i guess he means “the game does not tell you automatically anywhere”…you tagging them is almost the same as just remembering your guaranteed lucky trades? so congrats?
I just hit Level 48 and I used up all my guaranteed Lucky Trades to try to hit Level 49. Turns out I had already wasted 5 of my 25 guaranteed Lucky Trades over the years because when I did a bunch of trades with in a row my friend who has a newer account I only got 20 Lucky Trades before they stopped being Lucky. That means I need to find at least two other people with old Pokemon accounts. Ugh. This is gonna be a pain.
Since Niantic charge a lot of money in every single in game event, it should consider to invest another new musics in waiting in the lobby and during fighting with raid boss for level 6 raid Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y.
I better start doing it soon! I discovered I have over 80 shinies from 2018 or before (and hundreds of pokémon). I guess it's a good thing in this case I hate cleaning my storage and buy more space instead whenever I can.
Please be aware. The algorithm is prgrammed to stem growth. And that Pokemon Catch encounters are decided when you enter the carch animation screen. Usually there wil be an arbrirary amount of either hits or missed required for the pokemon to run away or get caught. Someone times to stem growth they are programmed to run basically right away. Other times to hide the incorrect and unfair algorithm it will keep letting you think you will carch it, until you hit a few great or excellent throws i na row, then it will run becaiae it was pre.prgrammed that you would not catch it. They do not want to leave evidence of this programming to the average player. Please be aware of this.
It's a little hard to call this "easy" and "a grind" when people just. Don't have old mons? Do you have some time machine or something? I get that this method has the highest chances of a shundo, but to frame it like you can grind this out or something I feel is a bit misleading.
Question. If a trainer has Pokémon in 2016-2018 still but was under the impression that they wouldn’t get any more guarenteed lucky trades on them because they hit 25 total lucky Pokémon (including mostly random luckies), do they still have the guarenteed lucky trade available?
I only traded 6 times in my life and one was lucky, but none of the pokemon were from 2016-2018. So theoretically, I still have the 25 trades, right? Anyways, I don't think I'll be using them, as I only have 12 pokemon from 2016 and I am treasuring them even though they are bad IVs. They are my only OG pokemon🥺, the next oldest one is from 2020.
Guys it’s okay to be happy with something lower than a 100%. The difference between a 90% and a hundo is like .5% and the only stat that really matters anyway is attack (imo) At the end of the day do what yall want it’s your money and time but this is how I snapped myself out of the fomo mentality
Not to sound mean, but thats not true. Hp and defense actually matter the most when playing great league for example. But i agree with you, the diference may be minimal and you should just enjoy the game and your pokemons
Will it always be ONLY 2016-2018 that trigger it ? Or is it a rage like "pokemon caught 6 years ago will be guarantee lucky trade". Ex: next year, 2019 will trigger lucky trade
This has always been confusing. I have 136 lucky on hand. My son just started his account last year and has done no trades. Does that mean if I trade him something from 2016-18 it will go lucky for him or both of us?
Hi! No, it doesn't. Lucky friend trades (where the trainer's name turns golden in your friend's list) are not the same as guaranteed lucky trades. For what it's worth, I've done 150+ lucky friend trades between 2018-2023, and I've used 16 of my 25 guaranteed lucky trades since December 2023 with a 100% success rate. Go forth and trade those old Pokémon! :-)
@@SteveGay-n8k I had used 15/15 when they increased it to 25 and then traded a shiny Lucario for a 2018 mon and it was **not** lucky. I reached out to Niantic support and asked if it's because I've done other lucky trades with lucky friends and they said yes.
So I have done this a few times. Not 15. When they added 2018s and 10 more. I traded a 2017 mon for a shiny magikarp. It didn't go lucky :/ and then I traded two 2018s and they both went lucky. Are you sure they didn't just change it to 2018 only?
I don’t understand why trading has a chance of making them worse. I traded 3 stars that go down to 0 stars 2 times in a row now and they were legendary , it makes trading useless fr😓
Where are you going to find people that have "old" pokemon, but haven't done 25 Lucky trades with the old ones? Sorry, I think hunting Pokemon is still easier than hunting People.
I have a shiny shadow nundo 100% iv white and purple Charizard with legacy moves hydro cannon and crosschop and when I mega evolve it, it becomes my best shadow in my friends list.
What sucks is I started playing pokemon go when my friends started to care less and less about the game like before I started playing it (I would have played it since release but the game would'nt work on my old phone) my friends were playing for 2 years and loved it and one I started they didn't seem to care about it that much I mean today I only have 1 friend who plays it and he only touches the game if I call him to walk around and play with me and even then one I first started playing with him we would go hard for those pocket monsters but now ... its cool atleast I still get to have a good time with my homie
I wish I had known there was a limit. My account is from day 1 and I had a bunch of 2016/2017 pokes. I knew about guaranteed lucky trades but not that there was limit 😢 I used up all my lucky trades on some less than desirable pokes
My friends account refuses to work for this despite them not having used the cap weirdly enough, i even verified by trading a 2018 moltres for an origin form and it was non lucky 1 star
I only have 3 shinys total from 2016-2018 💀 i stopped playing august 2018 and just got back to it when they dropped the paldea pokemon... I have to settle for normal Lucky's if i ever start trading
