hilariously that's just Austria allowing themselves to get annexed because they have a stupid decision to do their own referendum without the Germans so even if Germany get clapped by the allies and the Allies freed Austria then the Austrian AI can just re Anschluss themselves 5 seconds later
The collaboration government you saw is the one the devs have Germany do against Norway every game. They can’t do collaboration government on their own.
Bulgaria is definitely one of my favourite countries. The compliance gain in the third empire path is so ridiculous, and its so rewarding to conquer the balkans instead of just pressing buttons and hope the pie charts work out in your favour.
@@princam_4775 do the fate of the balkans focus, have prejustified goals against greece and yugo, have atleast 24 good quality divisions, declare on greece, push greece out of thrace while having most of your army against romania, take thessaloniki and leave 4 units there. Take out romania, but declare on yugo right before they cap. You shoild be in an easy position to manage the rest yourself.
@@Vuosta I definitely got better results with that strategy, but I still cannot manage a victory. I'm using 9 infantry with engineers and support artillery and my divisions are losing to undersupplied low org Romanian units.
If you know what you’re doing Bulgaria can easily get well over 100 factories as cores And I’m pretty sure Bulgaria can core all the Balkans from any path
Much as i disliked the Bulgarian tree initially, and then grew to love it over time, i have been playing a lot of Greece games recently and the tree and political mechanics have grown on me a lot. You can actually build up a decent industry, and aspects like the Schlactplan give you the chance to weigh up the consequences. I think what hurts the Greek tree is that you often end up at war early doors against some bery strong foes.
Megali Idea Greece stealth GOATed. You get an exciting early game war with a democratic nation, balancing the recovery of a shit economy. Then, you have to wrap it up ASAP to get ready for Italy and Germany, and Venizelist Greece has the resources and manpower to actually contest the Balkans alongside Yugoslavia. You gotta hold out til Barb, and then the Germans opening an entire extra front lets you save the Balkans from German/Ustasha occupation. It's wild and nowhere near as turtly as Communist/Monarchist Greece, while not being absolutely schizophrenic like Byzantine/Macedonian fascist paths
Do you know of a good way of beating Turkey that isn't the retreat-encircle-retreat strat near the bosphorus? I wanna play the byzantium route without cheesing it
My gripe with most of the greece tree is that for most paths, you kind of run out of relevant focuses by mid 1941, which historically, is fine. But if you survive past that, or lord forbid you don’t get declared on by the italians, you just… kinda don’t do much. Yeah there’s byzantium, but that tree ends with its formation, not to mention it uses the ass system of requiring a bunch of specific provinces spread out across a bunch of countries big and small in order to core anything, and if youre missing even one state you get nothing. Yeah there’s also the extra focuses in your military tree for going byzantium, but those feel like fun little easter eggs for flavor more than anything.
With the Greece focus tree, you’re supposed to finish the eco section of the tree before heading into the political side. Every RU-vidr I’ve seen either ignores the eco tree or just takes the foreign subsidies factories before racing off to create Byzantium. Going down "Force the Farmers" side of the eco tree gives you 12 off map factories, which is really, really good considering the limited real estate of Greece. Add on the industrial concern, once you "Crack Down on Foreign Monopolies," that gives you an additional 15% military factory production, and the Schatplan + tourism industry (another rarely used but incredibly powerful focus) that puts you at 0% CG at Partial Mob, you can churn out factories while you make your way down the political branch to war with Turkey. You can even build a spy network to plan your war with Turkey during the 35 day window when they have no guarantees. Then you either join the Axis to knock out the UK, or wait and build up your forces until the Axis completely control the Balkans and are balls deep in the Soviet Union. Play your cards right and you can have a triumph for the Balkans, significantly reducing the peace deal costs to recover your new cores, and you won’t even generate WT doing so, plus eventually a triumph for Italy after you get the puppet.
@@CarvaxIV FINALLY, someone else seems to appreciate the incredible value of right-path Greek Economy. If you act early and well, you get a really excellent economic booster shot when it's super important.
I somehow got all the Switzerland achievements in 1 run without historical focuses. I have no clue how, or why. But im glad I dont have to ever touch that focus ever again.
But then in certain situations they will steal occupied land from you as well as filling your lines and taking your supply forcing you to restrict the supply hubs. They need to fix it, you cant attack through neutral land anyways, and there would 100% be situations where the frontline was put in places you are unable to attack from due to neutrality.
You can also go for the Democratic path Balkan Confederation, and then flip Non Aligned or Fascist later on. Pull a Palpatine on them. "I AM the senate!"
Pro tips: you can stage coups in the other Balkan countries in order to "help" them get communist governments. Once a civil war is triggered you can can even help the communist revolutionaries fight that civil war. That can take a lot of guns though, so you might want to build mils from the start and get rid of the treaty penalties by getting rid of the IMRO. Also, Romania is a better target for coup than Turkey because it's one less war to worry about if you do it quickly enough and the Soviets don't ask for Bessarabia, and also because you get ALL Romanian cores as yourself, rather than just the European part of Turkey.
Remember battle for the Bosporus was when Paradox outsourced it with one person working on each tree. Also the person working on Turkey spammed victory points in the Middle East especially Kurdistan, I think Kurdistan now has around 40+ victory points for some reason. Edit: Kurdistan has 19 VPs in Turkey and 44 total VPs in all their cores
And this is why invading Turkey has long been fun for the first 15 seconds until you get to the point of walking through the SE portion, which not only lacks supply hubs, but even a rail network of any kind. Why are Turks so sweaty? I mean, is Kurdistan really equivalent to the entire midwest US?
Can someone tell me what godlike airplanes our gentleman/psychpathic isorrow is using ? I cannot manage to do as good as him even when i have better planes than the AI.
Pretty epic video but i was just wondering if you would consider flashing all of the achievements that you acquired in a video at the end in your acheesements to z cause like it would super satifying or something
I don't understand why you can even move units from Rhodes to the mainland. Its 11 miles from the coast irl. Probably just a bit too far for an army to swim...
start up a game with ironman and historical turned off, play as some irrelevant nation, then open the console and type "fa", "focus.nochecks", and "focus.ignoreprerequisites". then sit back and watch the madness unfold
You can get all of Romania really quickly by order 66'ing them early on. Do the be friends with neighbors focus and then justify a wargoal on Greece while getting military access from Romania. If you get lucky, you capitulate them quickly and puppet them, then take out Greece and puppet them. Then rush down the focuses to annex your faction and all you're missing is the territory Italy has and the European side of Turkey which there are ways to get without causing WWIII (e.g. cause a civil war in Turkey and then pressure the rebel government for its land)
Requesting "No More Partitions" for the current version of the game! I was non-historical, allied with the German Empire (in MY faction), eventually capitulated the Soviet States of Asia (they did the Trotsky thing) and the achievement never fired.
I find it's much better to just mass small fighters for the fielded manpower to trick the other countries into thinking you've got a massive army. This way you've at least also got yourself tons of planes you can use rather than having tons of divisions to delete. It's how I did this back in NSB. I think I also use that trick as Hungary for Austria-Hungary.
I just want to know if Germany got to keep the cores. personally when I puppet Germany I let them keep Austria. it just makes more sense. unless I'm a smaller country and I break them down a bit to maintain faction leadership. Germany is still surprisingly productive even as a puppet.
you can do democratic Bulgaria, but then bring Ferdinand back, it's fun trust me. HOI4 can definitely be fun. Yes it can. Ok, sorry the voices took over.
Day 1 of asking for the Ethiopia -> African Union Acheezement. (Bonus points if you do it as part of the The Fourth International or Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere while Haile Selassie is your head of state. Make sure you get Yemen and Egypt, too.)
