Do you think it might be possible that they also bring up the easter egg paintings to add to the game? Such as the animal paintings being those of the ancients, they could possibly use these Easter egg paintings to add more like the Blackwynche did. Such as the bear and bird on Plunder Valley (Banjo-Kazzoue reference) to add a pair of warriors who fought off a sea witch, maybe bringing them back to fight the likes of Wanda and the Dark Brethren. Though now pondering of the idea of more tall tales that could work to send pirates in small adventures from older Rare titles. And as they belong to the company, they can shift it as needed and likely without another company meddling even further in their stories. Though there is the infamous panther... maybe he got his bad rep from freaking out after he spilled his glass of milk on an unbalanced table?

I might have something to strengthen your theorie ; If the trial is in the sea of the damned ( as you said once, if I remember correctly) that would explained why the gold hoarder might have found gems capable to access the sea of the damned in the shore of gold. The problem with all of that is that if rare abandoned all of this part of the lore, I am strengthening absolutely nothing 😢

Rare should hire Falcore to do the story writing.

Im still of the impression that their hairbrained plan with tasha will ultimately fail, and be used to hammer home the point that A. the test cant be cheated or bypassed, it can only be passed or failed, and B. force the pirate lord and briggsy to admit they have to find the temple despite the danger within it, and the dug up temples are the way to find it.

I mean just think with the “hero’s” constantly messing things up there just making Flameheart’s job easier, he is probably just going to walk into the tavern at ancient spire, grab the sword and get back to the cool things he’s doing

man would be amazing if all this lore you are talking about was something you could learn in game.... oh wait some of it was part of a TIME LIMITED adventure the only lasted 2 weeks in the 6 year history of the game? WOW. BRILLIANT game design choices! certainly well worth the massive amounts of time and money that went into focusing heavy on adventures for like 2 years..... who the hell works so hard to throw all their work in the trash? That would be like Markiplier making a new youtube video every single day for a whole year then just deleting the channel... well crap that actually happened. um.... idk man

I have a theory that the sea of the dammed and the sea of thieves are the same place just the sea of thieves is your version of the sea of the dammed because what is the sea of the dammed a place born from the memory and dreams of the person that died and what is the sea of thieves an almost unreachable place where myths and legends prevail where pirates try to head for or… The developers are just gonna stay brain dead with the lore
