Brilliant! I love hexagons and have been making them forever, but your tutorial has some very different ideas - love the fake binding. Much less fuss and measuring than the usual pattern.
Thank you! This is absolutely the best tutorial I have ever seen on doing the strips around the hexagon! I have made a lot of them, but they never looked this nice! They were usually different sizes! Thanks again!
Great job explaining these two different methods. Thanks. Anxious to give it a try myself now as I need a new table topper. You are very clear and easy to follow.
You are a blessing. this is great and I love the tricky idea of binding. Usually I hate binding.. LOL You are great. That fake binding is right up my alley. Thank you so miuch
That makes me so happy to hear Barbara! My goal is to teach without wasting time...but it sure is a hard thing to do. I hope you enjoy sewing this one as much as I did! Happy Sewing :)
The perfect procject for a baby shower where I wanted table toppers for under the cenerpieces! I used the fake binding technique and they turned out great. Love your content; I can always count on you for quick and easy ideas!
I hit w multiple versions to make this is great. I can't wait to make this. I love the way you put the directional fabric on. It's going to make it so easy to have those focal points of those Prints. Thank you very much Tamara for this excellent tutorial😊
Hi! Thanks for this tutorial. I actually enjoyed making this project! Great guidance and helpful hints. Got a question for you... I made 3 of these hexagon toppers using the #2 size hexagon from your download...so they are approx. 14" x 12" each. Here's the question: I want to make a long rectangle table runner using these 3 hexagons but I'm no quilting expert so I'm not sure how to incorporate into a pattern?!?!?! Any guidance on that? Thanks, again.
Hello. Love your tutorials. Great idea! After choosing the size off the center could you use all 21/2 inch strips except for the 1 inch binding? Merry Christmas!
Hi Karen, the great thing about this table topper is how flexible it can be😃. If you want all 2 1/2 strips you can absolutely do that and it will look great! Happy sewing and a very Merry Christmas to you as well 🎄🥳
Thank you Michelle! If you are talking about the red hexagon center, it is the largest hexagon template I share in the free downloadable pdf. You can find it here: tamarasjoy.com/picky-hexagon-table-topper/ Hope that helps, and happy sewing!
