I'm realizing I have been profoundly blessed with bandmates who are solid people ... our only challenge is the "busy-ness" of modern life limiting our time together. Nobody's ever flaked or missed a planned rehearsal. Consistently top shelf content Sir, Thank You! I'll be sending your "jobs of each player" series to my bandmates, for sure.

Spot on Terence. I played in a few bands about twenty years ago. We played weekend bar gigs. It was fun, most of the time, but we all had day jobs and families, and the business of life makes keeping a band together a struggle. On top of that you have to manage personalities, flaky, unreliable people, and the plethora of reasons that make keeping a band together a struggle. Nowadays I just play casual solo gigs. Technology like Stagetraxx and Ableton make dealing with that stuff unnecessary.

Excellent explanation. I've been playing in various bands for the last 14 years and still there are things you said I was never conscious of. Basically, become that prospective band member you're looking for and look at your ad critically, as someone else, basically, see "what's in it for me." That's how the world works - not on wishful thinking. Thank you!
