We are still getting fireflies thankfully. Really love the idea of a firefly latern.

Honestly, instead of having frogs eat magma to make a new light source block (which makes no sense as opposed to having to let them eat fireflies), I would rather prefer firefly lanterns where you can catch fireflies and store them in a jar as a new light source.

I thought this entire update would be more about improving the ambiance of the game, stuff like that really adds to the experience so i hope they do add them!

they haven't even done the birch forest update yet

Yes I think so to. Idk why they couldn't otherwise have made the fireflies like regular flies instead. That would have filled the empty areas with life and keept what we wanted as we wanted. And also be the source of food to the frogs as it were suposed to be

Yeah like come on, is a two pixel firefly really that hard to add? They already pushed a lot of things (goat horns, bundles, jars, archaeology, etc.), including it isn't that hard, even just for the ambience.

@@monelmonelmonel They still need to figure out if it is just a particle effect or mob. If they went for mob, making them spawn too much will cause reduced performance and if they go for particles, you cannot interact with it.

Yes, we need to get laggier swamps! The oceans with their tons of fish pathfinding and lots of friendly animals in my pen pathfinding are not making my game lag enough, we need those fireflies so my game can finally become unplayable!

@@hw2007its not technically animal abuse if you at least take care of them. like from time to time they began to starve and the light they emit will start to become dim. so if you feed them with worms "idea for firefly food: worms can be found in dirt, mud,rooted mud and rooted dirt if you right click it with either glass bottle or bowl. the light level increase the more you feed the fireflies. fireflies eat worms actually irl along with slugs and snails, but worm is the best idea since you dont have to make a mob. just scoop the dirt and have worms"

@@hw2007 but that does means you have to feed them every 20-25 minutes before the light from their end will become dim. on the bright side, as long as you have dirt block and a bowl, you may have an infinite source of worms. it may be disgusting but at least thats something for the fireflies to have purpose i rest my case

Comparing attitudes to the mob between - my child, who has never seen a real-life silverfish - me, who still compulsively checks the ceiling and walls of every shower they ever enter I can guarantee you that Minecraft is doing no harm to the reputation of the real life silverfish. ::shudder::

I mean, they only really started doing that with the newer hostile mobs. That’s why spiders are also hostile. But both spiders and silverfish are also magical in the game: you get giant enemy spiders and silverfish that turn into stone

@@Shetty404 well its not really the 2 pixels that lag your potato, but its the amount of entities, and afew fireflys isnt really enough to give you the atmosphere and feel so you'd need alot of them, thats why i think if they would add them, then it would be as a particle effect

@@_marshP dang same i burnt the entire forest around my base ( located on top of a mountain) to get some plain area and it looks way better now that i have made my custom jungle + i just travel using elytra as im in my late games

The last paragraph makes almost no sense. They removed the frog eating firefly mechanic, because of current research. Fireflies are still toxic to frogs. Also punctuate your sentence.

Both of then had their own shows. Narrator had "How we make Minecraft", M.A.R.I.L.L.A. had the "Top Ten" show. Both elaborate more on each character.

Considering they were kinda hipocrits by adding polar bears a animal who is definitely hostile in the real world , im pretty sure they only care about cute marketable animals when choosing which to add, crocodile are actually rather passive if left alone.
