The Enterprise was never designed for another show, let alone "THE Lost in Space". It was specifically designed and built for Star Trek. Maybe DeForest Kelly was slightly considered for the role of Spock, but it was Martin Landau of Mission: Impossible and Space: 1999 fame who was the other choice to play Spock. The Vulcan hand gesture was suggested by Leonard Nimoy, not Gene Roddenberry. It was a secret Jewish symbol or letter that Nimoy saw at Temple when a boy. You weren't supposed to look at the Rabbi using this gesture, but Nimoy "peeked". The Phasers were not toy guns refitted. They were designed and created specifically for the show by Wah Ming Chang.🤓

Actually, it was not Jean Rodenberry, who saw the Jewish religious ceremony with the hands. It was Leonard Nimoy, and it was Leonard’s idea.

When you make a glaring error in the very first item (and an item that pretty much every Trek fan knows, no less), it pretty much makes a Trekkie hit pause and then look down the suggestions for another video to watch ...

LOTS of stuff wrong here. For starters, go read "The making of Star Trek" from the late 1960's.

^_^ the lost in space? that sounds like lost in space. but sounds wrong, the original enterprise built by Richard dayton designed by matt jeffries was created only for gene Roddenberry star trek. and the enterprise went threw 12 designs before we got the design we know today, witch was presented upside down to gene and he said i like this! and Matt jeffries and his brother insisted the enterprise was meant to be saucer up. the enterprise wasoriginal going to be named uss york town or uss exiter until they gene desiced on enterprise. :)
