@@maxinestannard9463 1-26-2020 And also good fun for @hairjoos lorjeffiny, who is a younger person that enjoys cool garage rock tracks such as this one.
On this day in 1967 {May 20th} the Seeds performed* "Can't Seem To Make You Mine" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV network Saturday-afternoon program 'American Bandstand'... At the time the song was at #49 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; one week later it would peak at #41{for 2 weeks} and it spent 7 weeks on the Top 100... The Los Angeles-based quartet had three other Top 100 records; "Pushin' Too Hard" {#36}, "Mr. Farmer" {#86}, and "A Thousand Shadows" {#72}, all four records charted in 1967... * On the same 'Bandstand' show they also performed "Painted Doll", it was track five of side one on their 1967 album, 'Future'; and of course it's available on You Tube...
This is one of those rare times where I'm one of 'Those' people who was brought here by an alternate media such as TV or Film and not because of my music taste....
the thing old music does where the singers go like "oO" idk how to describe it "i cant seem to make you mine oO" ya know? i really like it,, if some new songs did that it would be awesome
ive got a list together called 60,s top garage punk psych rarities with well over 3700 rare gems from original vinyl when possible.its mainly garage & a few quality psych lps that ive found.,my advice to people is search for garage punk its the rawer side of psych that many miss because they just search for psych.me i search deep & far for well over 25 years ive searched the small independent releases.people always think they know everything about music cause they searched the major labels.well there are thousands & thousands of gems that in many cases are more authentic & more talented but no one knows they exist.because mainstream labels buy all the air time.on commercial radio.stations that was going on way back but end result is they only play what mr businessman pays them to play.so all the rare gems.never got played.labels had their heads up their arses even in the 60,s they dont want originality they want predictable yes men what they call middle of the road & its so easy to create mr average.but they are nearly all fakes kissing butt doing exactly what the labels want over being yourself being creative being true to an artform that you love.im a guitarist lol people say to me you could be famous & i laugh & say no id rather be a musician.i jam with my records i own no cds they are crap.its so sad today labels are carrying out criminal multiple overdubs on all the digital vinyl reissues.because digital tech is sonically inferior & they try to hide it by only leaving the loudest parts of the recording on.analogue has top end mid range & bottom end or bass.each instrument has totally separate sound levels throughout the whole recording.TRUTH digital tech only recreates mid range with minimal separation & the bass is restricted severely ive played people the original records & they have got tears in their eyes because the original recordings are a hundred times better.ive turned hundreds of people on to rare bands & im proud to help raise the profile of authentic musicians.they gave us their best for me musical history is being distorted by pure greed.i slate these labels like sony sundazed past & present.emi warner brothers universal umg your greed is killing music dont tell me you overdubbed a third of the original recording for the music lovers benefit no you overdubbed it because you want the vinyl reissue to pointlessly be a carbon copy of the inferior cd version. so the more profitable cd & mp3 is called superior by who time life ?? lol who call it studio perfect sound.when your dealing with real instruments only one thing is perfect & complete its called analogue.yeah i tell it like it is get a record deck buy some old records your get a world of experience that digital tech cannot bring you.clubs worldwide pay djs that play the original records sadly some of the finest are the rarest & the dearest.so it takes it out of most collectors budget.im just grateful i heard the records first cause i wouldnt even be involved in music if it was cd only.great post mate i invite you & any true music lover to feast on the true sounds of the underground.stay safe & all ways search & you will always find peace...
I can't seem to make you mine Kiss and run all the time Flyin' around like a bee Hurtin' everything you see I tried everything I know To make you wanna love me so The only thing you do Is try to put the hurt on me Can't you see what you're doin' to me You fill my heart with misery With every breath and step I take I'm more in love with you I can't go on like this A little bit of love, not one kiss I gotta have your love everyday A love that's real that'll stay I can't seem to make you mine I can't seem to make you mine I can't seem to make you mine I can't seem to make you mine Come back, baby, to me End my misery I give you love night and day Don't ever ever go away I can't seem to make you mine I can't seem to make you mine Come back baby, 'cause I'm all alone Come back darlin', 'cause I need your love Come back, 'cause I wanna love ya Girl, I wanna love ya tonight I can't seem to make you mine I can't seem to make you mine I can't seem to make you mine I can't seem to make you mine
This song was used as the ending music for a horror/murder direct-to-video movie made in the late 90s. I can't remember the title. Does anyone know? The movie's main character, a long, orange-haired beauty queen, survives.
@@InferiorPhilly Neither. It was a direct-to-video suspense thriller slasher movie. if only I could remember the name of the main actress, a young, red-haired beauty. She puts on her crown and looks in the mirror and smiles as the ending song by the Seeds plays. Thanks anyway.
They played “Up in Her Room” at the "Desert Trip" concert over the loudspeakers during intermission (Stones, McCartney, The Who, Roger Waters, Neil Young, and some other guy). It was very cool! Funny to hear them play this on the loudspeakers between Led Zeppelin and Cream songs.
Sat here Monday morning 8.43am smoking a spliff watching the mustang which is now paused while I listen to this tune in a psychedelic state of pure ear~gasam
1-26-2020 @santiagobenites Hola Amigo -As far as being "timeles", much of the music us who nowadays are "old folks" that grew up in real time on 60's music, that is the case. We listen to music that is FIFTY+ years old, and still love it & repeat it. What I am wondering is: A person who is now 10-15 y.o., in the year 2070, when they are the 60+ y.o."old folks" in society, will they be listening, (as I do now to music that is 50 years old), that was made in 2020, that they grew up on? Don't think so.
If you’re from Stranger Things and wondering where this song was played, it was when Hopper was walking into the police station in the morning. You can hear it very faintly and then it fades out.
Hate to do this but the ad prior was about mens health and promoted a super fruit to increase mens testosterone and i couldn't help but laugh. Men and their frail egos with masculinity @ben shapiro
Mögen Ihre braven Herzen in Frieden ruhen. (LAMBERTI Münster)
hadn't heard it in a while. heard it playing very faintly in the background during an episode of Stranger Things and recognized it immediately. had to swing by and listen to it all. such an impressive track.

Saw "The Mustang" last night, and when the opening chords appeared in the middle of the film, I practically jumped in my seat! One of the all-time great songs. Thanks for posting.
