I think that is one of the best things these companies are doing with robot vacuums! The issue is IMO homes are not necessarily built for a easy /clean looking set up for this though. I do feel that moving forward people who will be building new homes will look at this and other new/emerging tech and are going to be re-looking how they build to accommodate for the these things which I think is pretty cool.

Thanks for the review, I was excited and ready to look into a purchase until the HA integration was lacking. Hopefully switchbot will address this API issue in the future.

Thanks for another great review. I had been wondering about how the refill and drain functions work. The vacuum does seem a little taller than others. The biggest let downs is that Switchbot does not play well with others, namely the open-sourced Home Assistant. Too bad.

Does the robot work without an Internet connection?

I didn't test it. But you need the Switchbot app to control it and that needs internet.

Hey Ed! Can't you use Matter integration for HA? Both K10+ and S10 should already have Matter enabled via SwitchBot Hub2

While I am glad you are upfront about them paying you, to say that does not influence the review is hard to believe. I am not saying it does I am saying that will always raise eyebrows and takes some of the shine off. Also to compare it to a S5 which came out in 2017 is hardly a fair comparison...

Well, I am honest about it. Believe it or not. And, I'm obligated to tell this by Dutch law. The S5 Max is the only other one that I own. I do not have the money to buy more vacuums. I wish I did. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I want to be clear I was just trying to state the obvious here- I want to state again I am not in any way suggesting that you are swayed one way or the other, I am saying I think anyone who is getting paid for whatever, that is going to affect the outcome even if it is unintentional. Most people are going to view it like this IMO. All that aside, If I was doing what you do I would 100% taking all their money and free stuff , at least long enough to get established! You tube is hard, that's why I don't do it :)
