The SELF-SABOTAGE is REAL | Life Update, Dating, Social Media 

One of the main reasons dating relationships can be so difficult is because a lot of us are afraid to get hurt-we self-protect (aka self-sabotage) and run at the first sight (or threat) of pain instead of self-manage and communicate our emotions to one another. . I’m guilty! I was the queen of “Nope!” “That’s it.” “I don’t have time for that.” “Yeah, that’s not gone work.” at the slightest infraction. This was a mixture of PRIDE and, at the root of it, fear-I was “above” allowing myself to have feelings (ESPECIALLY negative feelings) about…a man 🤮 (Praise God 🙌🏾 I’m trynna grow y’all lol) . Truth is, I was AFRAID of having feelings for a man. For 1️⃣ he’s a man (male) lol and 2️⃣ he’s an IMPERFECT man; a human being. I’m bound to get hurt with that second truth! (& let’s not even mention the fact that I’m also imperfect so… 😬) Anyways, I masked my fear with pride which showed up as “not having feelings and not caring”-I flaunted it too, to my own hindrance. . Because think about it… How can a relationship thrive with someone who has no feeling? 🤔 Better yet, how many of US want to be in that relationship? Probably no one. I could be wrong 🤷🏾‍♀️ but, it’s simply not authentic. . So, for those of us (men & women) who say we desire a God-sent relationship, one that leads to marriage, the first step is to be okay with your vulnerability. As you are getting to know someone new, misunderstandings will occur because ❗️NEWS FLASH❗️y’all don’t know one another. But, ask yourself this: Am I willing to be vulnerable (exposed) to the potential pain of misunderstandings that occur while I am LEARNING a person? And when they do happen, can I express my hurt? Can we listen and empathize with one another AND make appropriate adjustments? Do I also trust myself to exit if these very healthy and necessary variables are simply NON-EXISTENT with someone? Hopefully Yes. Yes. Yes & yes. . So there it is. The red flag 🚩 is not the presence of challenge or negative emotions. How do you respond to them? How do they respond to them? By this, you will know when it’s time to keep tracking and learning this person or probably time to head on out!🏃🏾‍♀️💨 Stay encouraged y’all! ❤️

wow i really love your videos. they’re also so encouraging and we always seem to be going through a similar season. especially where i’m at with social media and dating right now. I feel like God has been speaking the same thing to me about staying quiet and not speaking anything negative to the person i’m currently talking to. i have a really good feeling about him but i’ve been so scared of getting hurt that i would find any and everything wrong and i have even told him.. “if i sense any bit of hurt, i’m out.” but we’ve been getting to know each other for a while now and it’s been good. it’s been like a journey of getting to know him. thank you for sharing this❤
