Hey Mr SimRacing604 - I personally really liked RIDE4, so hopefully this latest version is even better. And for the record, I am just "assuming" you might be using a controller? But just a reminder to anyone else reading this - that on basic wheels like my Logitech G20. You can use the free software called x360ce to be able to control all those bikes with your racing wheel instead. Great Video as usual, Mike ; )))

As a former bike racer and massive sim racer now i do find these ride games amazing pov legit brings me back and body doesn't feel bad after playing either 😂

The big issue with bike titles has always been the handling, it just always feels so clunky and unintuitive. Visually it's a gorgeous game though.

Riding a bike is based on my experience usually more fun than driving a car. You feel one with the thing in a way that I can't with a car. It is usually the weight that spoils the fun for most cars.

I always have mixed feelings about Milestone games. On one hand they are really fun and the driving is always a challenge, bikes look amazing and you have a lot of content. But on the immersion side I still can´t lose myself in the world, something about the colors and lightning seems weird to me, specially tarmac and how interacts with shadows. Maybe is the fact that I have to play the games with gamepad Idk but it is interesting how I was never sold on the "realism" of the graphics. Anyways, great showcase Mike, thank you!

OMG...Mike is actually trying a motorcycle sim! I tried twisting your arm a couple of years ago into twisting a throttle. As a motorcyclist though, Sims will NEVER be able to mimic countersteering of real bikes. I have Ride 3, and it languishes in my library.

Ye... the technical name for this immersion is GOOD VISUALS... something that, for decades, sim racing community keep saying that "is not important"

I bought RIde4, put a few hours into it and haven't touched it since. No support for anything other than joystick controller. I could just never get used to it. I ride a Ducati V4SP in RL, so this kinda broke the immersion for me.

Sorry but I’m doubtful. A bit of hyperbole for clicks sure but I hear it’s not much different from ride4. And milestone still makes it so……. we’ll see.

I feel that the horizon should tilt, maybe just a little bit but to stay perfectly level doesn't seem right. Once you notice the bike is just rotating around the edge of the screen you can't unsee it!

I've only just disc Ride 3 after years playing car sims but this is a huge amount of fun, but hard I hope the AI has improved instead of getting knocked of and steamrolled by the CPU 🤣🔥

Looks like a blast! I haven't played a bike sim since the original Tourist Trophy, but this may get me to take a look PS5/XB Series X. Looking forward to more Ride 5 videos from you Mike. I feel like I have astigmatism with these light streaks at the beginning.

I could never master this game using the controller and thus I could never have the sense of immersion as you have described it and without being disrespectful you are all over the place at most times missing the apexes on most occasions because I know it is hard to steer with a certain amount of accuracy. It still can be fun I am not doubting that and as a game this is amazing.

As a 20+year rider its good to see. Other than that, i got burned out on ride 2 games ago. What i would REALLY like to see at this point is a game geared towards street bikers. One with an open world platform and options including: swapping fairings, extended&single side swingarms, tire kits all the way up to 330, turboing and supercharging, tuning with power commanders, quick shift kits, and adding various performance parts. Its a dream ive had for at least ten years but i dont see the possibility even being discussed. Ride could at least do an open world game or addition. Everyone i know who rides and games would be all over that. Nice video bro and it looks great. Hope all is well brother 💯 💪

yeah I can't play with a gamepad, all that twitching up and down, if it has no wheel support (which enables far smoother banking), then it's not for me unfortunately

Getting 2 any wheelers working with your wheel and pedals using Vjoy brings these motor cycle games to a who other level. I highly suggest it. Can't wait for Ride 5.

If they added support for Track IR you could move around in your chair as if you were moving on the bike.

Hey Mike, thank you for uploading this video of RIDE 5! I played a lot of Ride 2 as well as Ride 3 (to a lesser extent), but there are a few things in these (and the MotoGP series) that killed my long-term enjoyment. Could you answer these questions if possible? - Is field of view adjustment (finally) possible for on-board cameras, i.e. rider and helmet cam? - In addition to FOV, is (limited) camera position adjustment possible for onboard cams? - How is the AI? In previous RIDE titles, the AI was getting increasingly overpowered from one game to the next even at low difficulty, being able to do impossible things. They also had no situational awareness whatsoever with regards to the player and would knock the player from their bike on a regular basis. - How configurable are the controls? The gamepad is still obviously the preferred input device, but I like to customize my controls similar to oldschool Gran Turismo controls: Right stick for throttle and brakes, right trigger for rear brake, L1+R2 for shifting, etc. Not all modern racing games allow this kind of control scheme as they are designed with the triggers for brakes and throttle, so full customization is often not possible. - Pretty far out there, but is there any mention of TrackIR (or other head tracking) support? - Can non-Xinput devices like wheels be used instead of a controller? All in all, the physics and camera behavior do look very similar to the previous Ride games, for better or worse, but I would be willing to give it a shot if some of the worst issues have been fixed after all those years. Though I think the floodlights have far too much glare (especially in the first segment of the video), and the overall image looks very blurry for some reason - probably not as much of an issue in 4K, though.
