A tribute to the totally awesome and underappreciated 90s action/sci-fi TV series The Sentinel. If you haven't seen this one before, I highly recommend checking it out. Music: Retröxx - Retröspect
Burgi had that ultimate action hero look. He was the perfect lead for a show like The Sentinel. I thought that Garett Maggart was awesome in his role as Blair Sandberg as well.
That's an interesting point. When I was watching the series it actually reminded me a lot of a TV version of Speed with Keanu Reeves. The stunt team really earned their keep on this one. Some of the stunts they did were so crazy they made my jaw drop!
@@MatrixCobretti they did some pretty impressive effects in the 90’s. I think things really started to pick up on the 80’s and then when the 90’s rolled we got into Terminator 2 territory, Judge Dredd, Jurrasic Park territory. The 90’s really took a big step forward with visual effects. You’re welcome man 💪
@@axelstone3131 Very true. This series really went to the next level with the stunts and special effects. More than once I had my mind blown by the quality of it. They were literally making a whole season of 45 minute action movies. The two lead actors and the creative team were really dedicated to giving it their all and making it as awesome as possible.
@@MatrixCobretti isn’t it crazy how’s series used to be considered lower in quality and scale compared to movies. But now you get series that have huge budgets, great special effects can even match movie quality level. Tulsa King, Yellowstone, all those kind of things. Granted the stars of those series are big movie stars but the shift is pretty crazy. I mean the big famous stars are still movie actors and not really streaming actors but it’s still really interesting now things have changed
@@MatrixCobretti ugh I might have to skip sly’s documentary for now. I just watched a clip he uploaded on his Instagram. Made my stomach turn a bit. Started my anxiety off with the topic he talks about. That sucks cause I wanted to see it
I just finished watched Sly. It was more sad than anything. I was hoping I would maybe feel uplifted watching it but instead of just feel miserable. I already don’t really feel great. I’m not sure what I expected. I thought there would be more of a positive of uplifting feel to it but that’s not what I felt.
I'm sorry to hear that man. It looked that way from the trailer. Was it mostly about Rocky or did they cover much more of his career? If it's just Rocky and depressing stuff I may not bother with it.
@@MatrixCobretti covered mostly Rocky and Rambo. The unintended route into action hero. Briefly talked about the injuries. Arnold was in it more than Sly in his documentary. He talks about how he always felt he was a step behind Sly and felt like he went to hard regarding the injuries. Said he’s not been the same since the first expendables which we both know. A lot of stuff about the trauma his dad caused him. Just a-lot of negative stuff. A lot of negative stuff. It didn’t end with a “what’s next” he just said “I’m not doing movies with sad endings, I’m just not”Which is good but I just.. overall it just doesn’t need to be watched if you feel sad. The first half is okay though. I skipped those 10 seconds in rocky balboa I said made me uncomfortable. I feel like that to much talk about that kind of stuff. Briefly talked about Sage, again obviously not good feeling topic. I’m just going to maybe finish watching Onimusha on Netflix, the series is out now it’s good so far I only seen one episode but tbh I feel like I’m noticing an awful lot of negative things now that i never use to pay much attention to but now it’s like I’m just super sensitive to that stuff
@@axelstone3131 That doesn't sound worth it. Thanks for the review. I was hoping they'd talk about stuff like Over the Top and Cobra and the rest from that era. I don't recall if I've ever seen a recent interview where Sly talks about Over the Top. If you want a positive, non-depressing movie there you go! I really like that one. Hopefully the following episodes will be more light-hearted for you.
@@MatrixCobretti when it started there was clips of lots of movies, cobra, demolition man, stuff like that, he talks about how he’s always felt the need to be a hero. He did explain why he’s made the heroic movies he’s made. A lot of negative stuff from his dad. Even deliberately knocking him off his horse when he was 40 at a public polo competition when there was a news crew there. Unfortunately he didn’t talk about the stuff you mentioned. There should have maybe been another documentary about certain roles. He did talk about stop of my mom will shoot and Oscar, about how he missed the ball on those. For me I didn’t need to see it. Kind of wish I didn’t 😣 There’s lots of anime on Netflix now. I haven’t watched much for a while. Scott Pilgrim is animated series is out soon as well.
