Important things: 0:29 First Thing - Corduroy Button Down Shirt; 1:39 Second Thing - Textured Cardigan (more like a vest); 2:50 Third Thing - Wear With Anything Sweater; 3:38 Fourth Thing - Dark Wash Selvedge Denim; 4:45 Fifth Thing - Pleated Pants; 5:41 Sixth Thing - Fall Signature Scent; 6:21 Seventh Thing - Stylish Jacket; 7:42 Eight Thing - Loafers; 8:33 Ninth Thing - Boots; 9:29 Tenth Thing - Warm Rich Tones; and 10:19 to summarize all the told here. The video is interesting Courtney. Among the all mentioned rules, I might add fourth rule as well. And that is: "Find the appropriate clothes that are comfortable, and that feels good for us." P.C. It's not yet autumn, cause it's so hot outside. Am I right? No, I'm left, and you are right 😉😊😊😊😊🙃🙂.
if you want a SOLID fall/winter scent you'll want By The Fireplace by Replica (same people she mentioned for Jazz Club). Or Kamrah by Lataffa which not only is a steal for what you get but the bottle has a classy look as well.
I live in greater Seattle area, to give some context to my suggestions. While not every guy is into hats, they help keep warm when it rains. I get LOTS of compliments whenever I wear a Newsboy or driving cap. For fall & winter, you can get them in nice wool fabric with the earth tones (and for warmer rather, they have nice lightweight linen and silk versions).
I always really enjoy it when you put out these fashion videos. They always feel well thought out and genuinely helpful. I was wondering if you ever consider making more fashion videos that are perhaps more focused? Like "top five long sleeve options for fall" pants, footwear, accessories. Or six outfits based on occasion and weather. Even videos speaking to what women like and dont like to see(fashionmistakes)? Have a good day. Thanks for the great content!
I wear lots of quarter zips to the gym, windbreakers and hood-less zip/track jackets and some hoodies as well for layering and whatnot. I tend to keep a sporty look even casually since a lot of other stuff other than gym clothes can't fit my closet much more - it is already somewhat maxed out lol. I hate to sound like a know-it-all, but I knew to do almost every one of those things that you mentioned just about. To the point where I was literally selecting an Olive Green tone for piece of clothing while I was shopping just before opening this video 🤣💯. The only thing is that I don't own a nice pair of fashion boots that I enjoy yet (looking for Chelsea boots/currently only have Timbs) and the vest layering I also don't do but aware of the style
I like the items you mentioned. Personally, I like a v-neck sweater with dark blue jeans and suede camel colored cowboy boots with a neutral colored scarf. What is your opinion about cowboy boots? I like em a lot because for me they go with everything I wear in Fall and Winter. One of the awesome things about summer is that you can get great deals on Fall and Winter wear. Right at the start of Summer I purchased a brown corduroy denim style jacket by Ralph Lauren. Regular price was 250 dollars, but was able to get it at 89.99. Most of my style is from Ralph Lauren denim wear and Lucky Brand for the vintage class look. I'm trying something different this Fall and Winter season with corduroy. I was gonna purchase two different color corduroy pants (dark green) (golden yellow) and styling with a solid color sweater or dress button down shirt. With you being a female, you can steer me into the right direction for the proper style this cold season. I think my style is on point for what works for me, but I'm open to suggestions. I also own several cardigans that I style with light wash denim and cowboy boots. One more addition I plan to do this season and it involves hats. I'm a big fan of fedoras. I figure a nice light brown fedora with a white dress button down shirt with blue jeans and casual boots. Thursday boots are awesome, but I also like Sorel and Schott.
I'm a fraghead myself and would love a fall frag video! My personal favorite fall scent is stronger with you absolutely! And i completely agree Thursday boot company is 🔥
Appreciate the recommendation on fashion. Besides my Mom, no joke, I don't have feedback from the opposite sex of what is good for Men today / this year. The selvedge denim looks really nice but I really like the pleated pants. That's a good idea with getting the right tone for Fall. Never really thought to try that. My two cents for the fragrances, I mean, I'd like to see something or even just a name or two to check out that you like. Thanks for the videos as always Courtney. Thank you.
Courtney, one thing I would have loved to hear your advice on concerning men's fall wear is hats. Would you do a video on the best hats for fall? Enjoyed the video! As always, a great job.
TIMEPIECES. I really love excellent watches whether wristwatches or pocket watches. The selection is immense for men from formal evening timepieces to weekend sports watches and choosing is daunting. More daunting is picking a watch for a special girl. Thus is especially important as everyone has the time on a cell phone which can be intrusive on a dinner date. Any pointers?
Courtney I don’t think I saw it in your video but flannel shirts for me are a go to during the fall time, they go well with anything and especially ones that have different colors can make you stand out and look distinct.
Courtney thank you so much! I was 30 and divorced as my wife left me to be a twitch streaming E girl. I used your channel mixed with charisma on command and I'm 33 remarried to an amazing woman. I had a lot of success getting back into the dating scene. Your videos helped give me assurance that I looked sharp and allowed me to pursue a life partner with confidence. Returning to your videos even after marriage to make sure my wife has a good looking husband haha
A Courtney Ryan style video is like 🔥. Good stuff! Please make that fall cologne video as well as a suit style video. Dress shoes, ties suit options. On the cologne can you explain the difference between Parfume and Eau De Toilette. Thanks!
I’m 22 but wear older, quality clothes, prefer style and timelessness over trends and fashion. Would you recommend Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille for someone like me?
Courtney, great video, thank you! Fall Fragrance Guide... yes please!!! My two favorites btw: the original Chanel Allure Homme and Givenchy Gentleman EDT Intense.
I love the fall style tips. I’m a big fan of bomber jackets! I got a black one but now I want a maroon color one. I wanted to ask, if you can review what watches can go with fall essentials.
Jeans, boots, cardigan never misses. I also like to add hats, since im bald, eithers beannies or peaky blinder type hats. Also accessories become more present in fall idk why.
I went to a non-formal event wearing dark denim, light brown chelsea boots, a black turtleneck and a dark gray sport jacket. My logic? "I'm wearing jeans, boots and my shirt doesn't even have buttons. This is technically casual" I got complimented on my outfit a ton that night. So, thank you Courtney! I never would've purchased a turtleneck without your semi-regular pushing of them 😂
If you are a skinny guy. the T'Neck really does stand out. And not many people wear them, so you will get compliments for sure... just dont be @KYRIAKOSKAPAKOULAK
Thanks for tips. I started to wear brigther chinos during summer and really enjoying them. Especially during hotter days. So have some darker shades for fall and couple new sweaters. Going for that classy "peaky blinders" look.
I wish I lived next-door to you! And I could just walk over and get advice because I love your style in your class and watch every last one of your videos and like them and agree with them. This world would be a much better place with more Courtney rinds in it
I love your content! You manage to tell us what we need to know while at the same time reminding us to keep our integrity and values intact! Thank you for making all this as there is alot of gamey «Go out and get the women» kind of vibe these days thats lacking in normal human values.
@@cliffthecoolcat I don't know how it's possible to "simp" someone I don't know, but congratulations to you for misusing a word. As for being clueless about what men have to do and be _when__it__comes__to__impressing__women, I can't think of a better adviser than a _woman._ Don't get me wrong, your opinion makes perfect sense if you're chasing guys. Are you chasing guys, "cliff the cool cat?" If so, there are probably other more appropriate RU-vid channels available for you. And if dating is your thing, try Grindr. I don't know if you're single or not (my guess is that you are, for obvious reasons you haven't grasped yet), but I'm single so I"m paying attention to her advice. Last week I had four first dates. This week is going to be a slow week (so far), with one third date. Personally, _I'm_ happy with Courtney's advice. Apparently the woman who's my upcoming third date is, too.
I missed these... pretty much how I found the channel. Actually enjoyed the ones with multiple women giving their opinions on style from way back when.
I enjoy the fashion content, it's how I found your channel before the "dating problem" content became the only thing people wanted to see on everybody's channels. More fashion and style stuff would be great, the dating content is really overplayed these days but ya gotta get views...so I get it.
Well certainly food for thought there , i,d expect nothing less from one of courtneys videos , its actually testimont to how far ive come watching these videos that i,m actually aware that aftershave aficionados rotate their scent seasonly , i used versace pour homme and lacoste red through the summer , ive taken some ideas from this video , i,m generally a high street style wearer but i,m aspirational, great video
Thanks Courtney. Autumn 🍁 is my favorite season. The leaves turning red, orange, and umber. The cooler, brisk temperatures at night. I feel sexiest in 100% cotton flannel pajamas and flannel sheets. Silk sheets don't work for me. They don't have to be L.L. Bean either. There's nothing sexier than sleeping soundly in 100% cotton clothing and bedware.😴😴😴
Seriously. I'm in Louisiana and we have Summer and Spring. Alot of that stuff just won't work. Some of that stuff I wouldn't be caught dead in. I did see some stuff I liked and I'm gonna have to watch again to pick out the best for me. IF I showed up to a dinner or party with my peeps wearing loafers and no socks I'd be physically attacked because they would think it's a bad clone. You should definitely do the video on the fall fragrance though
I'm curious how universal you feel these styles are to men's wear and woman's likes accross the U.S. I feel like men in the mid-west and/or west coast wouldn't necessarily wear some of these outfits. Would love to see a more in-depth guide that mimics other styles for men from other locations. Your style feels very east-coast and preppy. Lumber Jack lives matter lol. Joking, but yeah. :)
What about Fall Peacocking? Wearing brighter and more radiant colors and textures. Actually, what do you think about peacocking in general. How can it be done right?
Overall, I would say this video is helpful, especially if all you're trying to do is impress someone, but if you want to look great wearing anything get in shape! I don't dress for others I dress for myself and what do I wear on most days? T-shirt and shorts. Nothing fancy either cheap clothing and nice shoes that are functional. My shoes cost more then the clothing I wear. Why? Because I am in shape and everything is fitted to me! Being in shape makes cheap clothing look expensive. I constantly get ask why am I getting dressed up. One tip that is an icebreaker is lace and tire shoes in a unique way or if you need to dress up tie your tie in a unique style. This works every time, but you need to be in shape. If you are out of shape and dress this way you will get a bad reaction. Courtney I will send some images on X/Twitter proving this point and maybe you make a video about being in shape and clothing?
Great video and awesome suggestions as always, Courtney! And yes, absolutely! I’d love a video with fragrance suggestions for the fall! I love and trust your taste and as a fragrance collector, I’d definitely appreciate that video about fall fragrance! I’ll be slightly disappointed if you don’t add Layton by PDM to that list though! 😜🤣 I do love a Scottish Harris Tweed gray Herringbone jacket paired with a pair of high waist corduroy pleated trousers.
Fragrances are tough to pick.....for any fragrance you can pick, you will find many women who love it and many women who absolutely hate it. Doesn't seem like there is an fragrance that is universally well liked.
I really love the content you put up and it matches to my personal style statement which is classic. I am from IMumbai in India and would really appreciate if you can make one video on suitable fashion trends which has hot and humiid climate throughout a year. Ciao.
This video is helpful yet informative but to those obsessed with fashion....but those less obsessed probably would wear their same dresses today too.... This due to "habits. ".... people like to stick to their habits, whether good or bad. Thanks for your advice though, very inspiring episode. ❤✌
I actually have a cardigan sweater.😳 It's nice, had it over 2 years. Never worn it. I would if I had a date in the cooler months though, it looks great with an appropriate Tee or mock T neck (even a button down). It will happen. For me the "no sock" thing is not so much about how it looks, more about the ick factor of feet sweat permanently infusing itself into my shoe. The modest cushioning of a sock is welcome too. Hack for suede boots in winter...Scotch Guard. Avoid those weird stains. When they are new and spiffy, give them some scotch guard love. Once it's dry, you'll never notice it, until the day after you stepped in that deep puddle, and there's no water stain. To break boots in with less torture to your feet, wear a thin nylon dress sock (wicking type preferred) under your wool or cotton socks. It will act as a lubricant to prevent blisters and chaffing. The dress sock will slide slightly within the outer sock rather than abrade the skin on your foot. Bobby Knight used to require his players do this. I did it when I worked outside in Alaska for several years (3 different cold temp levels of boots). It works.
Good basic stuff. Not so sure about corduroy shirts though. Not my thing. Really heavy for a shirt, even in winter. If I wore them it would be as a jacket substitute over a lighter shirt in fall. But I've just this summer have gotten used to the idea of linen and have put together a summer linen wardrobe. I like it now, and view the wrinkled texture differently now. Next for next summer will be a light-colored summer linen suit. And maybe Seersucker. So maybe I could get used to the idea of corduroy. Same with loafers. I've been looking for lightweight summer loafers to go with linen, but haven't found anything yet. But I've never been into the brown leather loafers. Penny loafers or tasseled loafers. Very preppy and yuppie. I'll give brown Leather penny loafers a try this fall but tasseled loafers are a bridge too far. I am a big deck/boat shoe guy and have several pairs of them. All year round, casual but a step above sneakers. I have a few Cashmere sweaters. Great for fall but too lightweight for winter. I need a long trench-style raincoat and wool long/trench coat and scarves. Have none. As for fragrances fir the fall, I'm a FragHead so no shortage there. I have Jazz Club and The One and many, many others. Today, a warm late August Sunday, It'll be a cream-colored suit with Maison Martin Margiela Replica Bubble Bath. I wear lavender scents on Sundays. Usually fougeres but sometimes will opt for otherwise soapy, powdery, or otherwise clean lavender scents. I was thinking about Amouage Reflection Man today but too cloying in the heat, so Bubble Bath will do.
Courtney, I like your comment: "It depends on where you live." In Houston it's hot and less hot depending on the season. I'd like to wear a lot of the clothes you mentioned but they would just be too heavy. I enjoyed the video anyway. Cheers.
1. I have something like that in my wardrobe it’s black, and all that. 2. Cardigan - No Thanks not for me I would not look good in this. 3. Wear with anything Sweater - I just don’t wear those not my type of style. 4. Dark Wash Denim - Oh the denim jeans and looks nice I have those type of jeans I wear slim and skinny jeans that are kinda like denim but are not. 5. Pleated Jeans - I wear baby jeans sometimes when I do ranch work but when I go out I always wear black slim stretchy jeans that feel nice where they have a stretchy comfortable fit. 6. Fall Signature Scent - I can agree have to have a nice scent and an all that. 7. Stylish Jacket - I leather jackets and denim ones that are all black and all that. 8. Loafers - Ah I like they way they look I think have shoes that look like those. 9. Boots - I have black leather combat boots and an all that. 10. Warm Rich Tones - No thanks I’m not interested in those they wouldn’t work with me because I have black hair and also wouldn’t look good with black nails, and all that black stuff I wear. 11. Long Sleeves - They are also great to have for winter or fall or spring weather when the summer is over.
Personally not a fan of corduroy shirts, otherwise, great list. Light jacket is my favorite. Winter essential: a good smart wool base layer, so you can keep wearing all the clothes you like without getting super cold 😁
Great stuff, Courtney. Except for the pleated pants. That was a surefire way to look like your mom dressed you, when I was coming up. Grown men who wore them almost always had cellphone holsters, too.
I think you left out the best suit of all the Canadian Tuxedo with work boots. Texture? is that glossy, semi-gloss, flat or ultra-flat? Does a roller or a gun work best? You had a lot of great suggestions, thank you.
Thanks Courtney ....I like your foresight.... right time to start shoveling my wardrobe ...summer is almost kissing goodbye.....no more skin seeing ....that's the sad thing
Hi Courtney, first of all, your videos are hugely helpful! You're awesome. I had a small request, if you can make a video on what do women think if their significant other has/ had a porn watching problem? Will they consider getting in a relationship with them or marry them if they had a porn watching problem in the past? In general, what do women think if they get to know a guy watches porn or has watched porn.
I really like your dating videos but these ones I absolutely love. cause I have some Idea of fashion but hearing it from a woman I admire and would like to find someone with similar qualities one day is truly helpful in helping me find a style that I both like myself but is appealing to the type of woman I want to end up dating.
The key is to have a lifestyle that makes you look as much like a model or lead actor as possible and then rocking sensible and stylish clothes with confidence.
Laughably wrong. I'm a country boy in a far left city and I have no problem picking up good looking women because I already have confidence and masculinity. Half that shit in the video just makes you look like you're looking for dick. Real, every day women don't want a model. They want a man who can protect them, not one who dresses and acts like he's going to run away to hide if she gets threatened.
Something to consider, maybe position each piece at a price point/ or street and classic. Like the corduroy Jacket by Levi’s, by Way of Wade, by Whitetails.
To make a girl follow you around: 1. In a conversation with her, suddenly say: "Oh, by the way!" 2. After a couple of seconds, just add: "Oh, no ... forget it!" - Moscow, Russia
Okay... My Take (I'm also from Greater Cleveland): Corduroy Shirt - I respectfully disagree, and here's why... Even in colder weather, you want something that breathes, and is more flexible in texture. Even if we are layering, a corduroy shirt offers less flexibility, and is even more limited if you're switching from business to casual. At least, from my experience. This might work with the tradesman, but doesn't work as well with the professionals. The exception to the rule would be if you're casually walking with a earth toned/black micro corduroy sports-jacket/blazer, which are entering stores now (wear with dark denim, and either appropriately colored chelsea /loafers/belt color/style, folks). Cardigan -- I suppose it works for some looks, particularly, if you're wearing glasses. Me? I'm going with the full zip sweaters, for the layered look with some of my fall collection sport-coats, as it tends to layer better, IMO. I wear both cashmere and Merina wool sweaters, for comfort, flexibility, as well as thinness for layering. Wear Anything Sweaters - I agree with having turtles. I generally have (in arsenal for any day wear): 3 Turtles, 3 crews, 3 quarters, particularly for days where I know it's going to be "quick dress", and I usually have three five shoes ready to inter-change, as the necks are generally The full zip sweaters aren't included in this category for me, as that is more for "universal layering". Dark Selvedge Denim - 100% agree, this is a MAJOR, MAJOR GO!!! Pleats... Respectfully, for me, this is a NO-GO. I get that they're coming back in style, but I have to say, ladies and gents, that going "classic" keeps you as timeless as a Rolex Presidential. Even more so, if you keep your physique up. No pleats for me, respectfully. My layers make up for the busy look pleats make IMO. Fall scent - I agree with Replica. Woodsy, Leathers, Bourbons too... Jacket: Agreed with bombers (fitted, not phat), quilts, etc. Earth tones and darks, folks. Match the leaves, if you will. Denims are also key. Shoes: Agreed with loafers. In Cleveland, I'd still use the Chelsea in Fall. Boots: Again, chelsea, lace-ups too. I recommend Frye, as well as Ace Marks. Great quality and finish. I've had boots from both makers that are old enough to vote, that STILL look (and feel) new. Highly recommended, BUT NO TIMS AND DOC'S We can all do better than that IMO. Tones - Again, dress the color of the leaves and earth. ;-) A great rule is to enjoy multi patterns. Have fun with it.
Where are some good places to shop? I’d love to start building a better wardrobe Just don’t know where to buy these kinds of items, anyone that can give a couple recommendations would be highly appreciated
A video about clothe combinations that are cheap and good like from H&M or C&A. So you do the combinations and show it to us as pictures with price. I would love to see that. I want to see Fall Fragrance video too!
Cleveland does not have four seasons. Summer starts around Memorial Day and ends around Labor Day and winter starts in October and lasts through April. Barely have time to get out the fall clothes before the snow is coming. I lived in Shaker Heights for 13 years so I know what it’s like.
