Great job, Silvio. Thank you very much, I've pinned your comment. Here are the members of the band: Chloe Feoranzo - Clarinet; Marla Dixon - Trumpet; Defne (Dizzy) Incirlioglu - Washboard; Haruka Kikuchi - Trombone; Julie Schexnayder - Bass; Molly Reeves - Guitar.
@@aliceglick2933 Silvio is the sharpest audience member, of the sharpest jazz band in North America! Sound technician also deserves compliments too. I want copies of your recordings!! :)
I am in my eighty-third year to heaven, and I never thought I would hear again the sort of quality jazz that was my passion in my youth. Individually and collectively, Shake em Up are head and shoulders above most of the stuff that passes for music these days. Bless you all, I think you have added a few years to my life!
Jake I am going to be 82 the end of May 2019. I so agree with your comments. I am an amateur clarinetist so I love Chloe Feoranza. Today is Jan.12019, so happy new year to you, and best regards
It does my heart good to see a group of young people, women no less, keep this wonderful style of music alive. I have been aware of Chloe Feoranzo for awhile now and that is what prompted me to look at this video. Thanks Chloe.
I had the pleasure of watching Chloe live a few years ago on a European tour with PMJ and she just blew the place down the moment she played and sang and that is saying something if you take into account the raw talent of that band.
Fabulous music, entrancing musicianship, WOWomen opening a wine from days past; it breathes and pleasures the listeners, The clarinet smoothly travels the middle registers, the trombonist shows an affinity to Jack Teagarden...all together they awaken a sleeping era in a generation that was ignorant of it's humanity.
It's a great encouragement to this 78 year old Brit to see YOUNG guys playing traditional jazz. Over here the young players are admirable too but it's all modern jazz(which I love too - but NO remains my first love. Our traditional sadly won't live or play for ever.
You guys play so well together. Probably because every one of you solo with such great technique and feel for the momentum you're building together. Love it.
Outstanding, ladies!! I love how there is not a touch of hipster irony, here. Just beautiful, faithful respect to the founders of THE American art form. Thank you, thank you.
Molly always lays down a SOLID groove. She is a great talent! Brings some great vocals to the table. (She's also very quick at changing a broken string).
I would like to say thank you to the crew who filmed and recorded this. You did justice to their brilliant performance! Thanks to you we can enjoy it from now on. :)
Bravo ladies! Extremely well done. Siting outside no less. Sounds like your in a studio. Very musical, great time, excellent mix on the sound. You are all so talented. I do have to admit though I lost my heart to the clarinetist/singer. She is freakin' adorable as you all are, if that's not to sexist. Thank you for your hard work, talent and kindly sharing it with us.
So so beautiful. I love seeing the younger girls dancing around in front. So inspirational for little girls to see what girls can do as well as men. Keep up your playing especially the guitarist and clarinet playing lady.
I don't know how did I ended up here watching this video BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT !! I can't believe what I'm seeing!! TRAD JAZZ MY FAVORITE MUSIC EVER NOWADAYS WITH A BAND WITH NOTHING BUT LADIES !!!! Girls!! I ADORED YOU ALL!!!! I only know the cutie on the vocals I've seen her with Scott ... but I love her and you girls in this band ... more traditional more authentic... I WANT TO FOLLOW YOU GIRLS !!! Share your social media pages !!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. GIRLS RULE !!!!!🎸🎺🎷🥁🎤
This band was put together by Shaye Cohn of Tuba Skinny. In it's original line-up, Shaye played trombone. There is a video of the band with Shaye sitting in on trombone in Abita Springs.
Laid back relaxed New Orleans Style,. Cant help but love this. I really think that this kind of music makes you happy and want to dance. If the world would learn to relax and appreciate this we would really really understand that Music and Music alone is the most soothing relaxing way of making each day a day in paradise
This is the finest perfornance vocally and instrumentlly I've heard by Molly Reeves. I'm not a longtime follower and I don't want to minimize my love for your music as A group but I believe I am not the only none to say ' Gal's a'rockin'" Cool.
There appears no limit to these Ladies and their skills, aside from being cute and pretty too, they outshine ANY of the modern crap that has invaded radio TV and movies. This is the greatest music, full of passion, skill and understanding, As a retired musician I have really enjoy this music style and these great musicians can show the world how its done. Thank you Ladies.
@@hayberdasher8625 Her skills at improvisation are Astounding! She SINGS through the instrument seemingly without effort! And it sometimes seems almost unfair that along with being so enormously talented, she is so gorgeous as well...
It doesn't get better than this ladies! Your all the very best. Shout out from Las Vegas...we don't have anything like this out here (and I'm a working musician). Bravo!
I have to admit, when I clicked on this unknown video I wasn't expecting very much. It's great to be pleasantly surprised. Good stuff. I enjoyed the show.
I keep coming back and watching this great performance. I'd like to point out Marla Dixon's great leadership of this amazingly talented group of Ladies. She plays a great horn, sings, and always grooves. Imagine, if you will, being in the band that had to follow them on the stage... Daunting to say the least!
I too keep coming back for the same reason, not sure how she can go from playing a solo and switch to singing so well! what a great band, no weaknesses
What an amazing band!!! I discovered it by accident just now, whilst binging on Chloe Feoranzo vids because I'm learning clarinet and her tone is beautiful. The first song had not finished playing and I'd already hopped into bandcamp to buy one of their albums. I'm so grateful you shared this video! ❤
It's just possible that there's a better way of spending a summer afternoon than listening to these ladies - I just can't quite work out what it might be......
