The Shambler From The Stars by Robert Bloch is a story dedicated to his friend H.P. Lovecraft, in which he describes going to said friend with a tome of ancient providence. Personally it I always liked how it felt like a love letter to someone he truly viewed as a master of his craft.
Gideon Ofnir lends a good voice to the work of Robert Bloch and I think I will continue to use him for this purpose.
