When my siblings and I were young we desperately wanted a treehouse. We didn’t have a good enough tree in the yard to support our idea, so my daddy did the same thing! Built a tiny house on stilts! I cannot tell you how much joy this brought us! Your boys are going to be thrilled!!! ♥️
So glad to see your channel live finally! Love that this first project is for the kids! Hope you have a smooth and succesful youtube Journey. And I'm glad to be apart of it.
How awesome that your channel starts with building a treehouse for your boys. It just shows what a great dad you are. I'm so happy to see you doing this channel. I could watch you build anything. Love it!! GREAT JOB Miah!!
The boys are going to love it. Every boys dream. (Or girl) When I was a kid, we rented an old farmhouse, and there was a big old milking barn in the back, which was only used for storing hay by the guy who rented the pasture for his cows. We turned the old barn into our clubhouse. Our favorite thing to do was pile up hay and jump out of the hay loft. There are so many good memories of having a place to hang out in.
Aw Miah! Now I 100% get why Jess calls you sweet cause this is just so incredibly wholesome. Lol at first I thought it was a cute pet name but it’s true. Sending all the love to you and your family 🖤 those boys (and young lady) are so blessed to have teachers like y’all to learn life from. Cheers guys xx
I'm so happy you have decided to share what you do around there. It's been wonderful to see your finished work, but now we can learn from you. Thank you!❤
Honestly this is a childhood dream that never came true for me. I’m so happy for your kids, that they get to have a tree house! My boys are dreaming of one as well. I’m happy to see your channel Miah. I appreciate you walking through projects. I always have big plans but there are always unforeseen issues. It helps me to see how you figure things out. I didn’t realize you were a lefty! My youngest son is as well. He’s the only one of my 8 kids who’s in his right mind! 😂
As the daughter of a carpenter turned building inspector, I am soooo excited to see you branch out this way (no pun intended). This reminds me of endless days watching my dad plan and build things. Keep it up!!!
Dude, I'm so happy you started this channel. I love that you are showing the design process! I'm a total wood working beginner (but I'm a fairly seasoned DIYer). I want to build my 9 YO clubhouse this year so this is beyond helpful! Keep the content coming. #miahismyhomeboy
I can’t express how much I love this. Your drawings are SO helpful!!! This is exactly how my mind works, and I need this step by step design and structural logic BEHIND the design. Please keep this up for us learning builders!
Congratulations on the launch of Miah's Workstop! I love the Shark Tank Project. When I married Mr. B, I brought two sons age 5 & 7yo to his farm and he had a set of ready-made Grandparents age 80 & 84yo. So, an exterior play place was a must for Grandma's sake and burning their high energy. He built the boys and Grandpa a combination Non-Treehouse on Stiles with a woodpile area underneath in a tree grove behind the barn. It was the same design as yours without a porch. He used telephone poles for the four corners of the 10' x 10' structure. There was an opening on the front right corner for climbing up into it via the recycled Lineman Spikes from all the poles and an opening on the left side for the climbing rope that hung off of an calibered extended roof beam. He, also, cut a window in the back and put a secret trapdoor in the floor. You never know when you will need an escape hatch with a rope ladder. Lol The boys and friends had many years in their Treehouse Fort with water gun battles, some how a 55 gallon blue barrel was hoisted into the fort for refilling Super Soakers. Grandpa would usually mosey out there when the boys were playing, chop wood and stack it under the fort. Needless to say them & friends all become expert wood choppers & stacker and knew to take the wheelbarrow by the backdoor of the house and bring a load of wood back to the house. Once grown into men and off on the life adventures, a friend or two would stop by to visit and they would wander out to the fort and be boys, again. The Peace on the faces of the ones that went to war overseas when the returned house and visited their childhood Fort was well worth the effort to have build it.
It's a joy to see how you talk out your ideas and work through the process of whether your ideas are doable or not. So many ideas! I hope they ALL get to happen.
My neighbor had a treehouse in the actual tree where I grew up. Not as fancy as yours. Window openings for breezes and kept you relatively dry during rainfalls. The other option was to climb as high as possible and wedge yourself between the trunk and a branch. Spent many hours in trees. Many great memories. ❤
I love that we're drawing this out together and you're explaining the logistics, I need this! this gives us ideas about our new chicken coop as well 😊 thanks Miah.
Love watching and hearing you describe all your tools and supplies you are using before and as you use them. You make everything so much easier to follow step by step. Thank You ❤
You hold your own the same way I do! I’ve never met anyone else who does that! Sounds like a fun project! I always wanted a treehouse as a kid but never had one.
Solid as a rock construction,,,, I love it! In other news I have finally found someone who holds their pen the same way I used to in high school. It stopped my fingers from cramping up!
Came over from the family channel Roots and Refuge Farm … I’m so happy you finally launched your channel Miah we are all so excited and blessed to have 2 sides of your beautiful family 💚
Hi Darlings it looks great. What a Wonderful Present x So lovely seeing you on here x Lots of Love to you and Jess the Boys..Lovely to hear that another person cares about your Environment x so many do not x Your Grandkids in years to come will be able to see Pops online x
Excellent project to start with on your new channel. We built a large playhouse for our daughters many years ago. It now serves as a cute little potting shed so we were able to get 2 uses out of it. My hubby built it and the girls and I finished it. It was a real labor of love and holds so many great memories...as I am sure your build will too!
I love this new channel for you Miah, you needed more room to shine your light on the world. I'm so glad to have you and Jess as role models, I'm trying to find a balance between both of your styles myself, and your guidance is much needed. Bless ya'll ❤
😊 So glad to see that you started your own channel! Of course it has to start with the 'Shark Tank', that's awesome! Lucky kids! I'm so glad your boys have you both as parents! As a kid, I didn't really have a parent to build me a tree house so I would ask neighbors for scraps and screws and built my own (multiple😂). It gave me a life long love of trees and building, and great skills! My supports went around the trunk and large branches so I didn't screw into the trees. I spent a ton of time in them, and it was the coolest thing to bring snacks or a meal up into the treehouse with friends or by myself. If I would have had Miah's tutorial, I could have built a proper tree house instead of a few platforms lol! It turned out great! I look forward to seeing more!
Cannot wait for the stanchion video! As someone who has followed you all for a long time, I am so excited for you, like this is my own. Even though Jess is naturally an introvert, we never got to see her make decisions and start the channel, so being able to watch you come out of your shell and finally start posting, it’s a new type of inspiration. Knowing that you can do it, gives me motivation.
wow, how exciting, You're such a hard worker and deserve all of the accolades you will definitely recieve. Your love for Jess and your boys is shown in everything you do.
MIAH!!!! Wheeerrre aaarrre yoouu?! All good man? All of your videos are awesome. I speak for the people when I say we have tasted the greatness of this channel and fervently request more! Thank you for your content :)
Fascinating, I thought I was good using a had saw and electric drill to make my raised beds you take power tools to the next level😂 great job can’t wait to see it finished x
Miah, I came over to subscribe and I just had to laugh: 3 videos and already 19.1K subscribers! I'm so happy for y'all's success, but I'm especially excited for your channel. I'm a woman with my starter set of Ryobi tools. We've bought the forever property out in the country, and we're trying to get the infrastructure in place so we can move out there. I have a building that will be my woodshop, but it doesn't yet have power. I want to build all the things. Every weekend when we're out there working on the farm, it feels like we're bailing water out of the Titanic with a teaspoon. There's gotta be a better way to do a lot of this. I so appreciate the opportunity to watch you finish building out your farm and learn from you.
Congratulations Miah! I'm so excited about the videos to come! I have always enjoyed the moments you have taken to teach us a thing or two on the R&R channel. I'm stoked to get a chance to learn from you and see a different side of your farm!
In order to preserve the health of your trees, consider deeply mulching with wood chips under the treehouse and their drip line. The roots of the tree will have sustained significant damage from compaction during construction, which can be mitigated with a wood chip mulch, otherwise foot traffic will compound the problem
Been waiting for your channel. I can remember how uncomfortable you seemed in front of the camera years ago when I found R&R. Good luck, and God bless.
